Once the parents brought their adopted son through the portal, which ironically led to their bakery (uh oh...), they went to the attached house. I'm sure you probably thought they would be living in a den, but nope. The Pokemon in this world are far smarter and created their own special paradise away from humans. They don't hate humans, far from it. They just don't want humanity to ruin their hard work of what they built up.

Anyway, getting back to Haru and Sakura, they gently laid Cilan down by the fireplace and draped a blanket over him. They then went to the toy store and once they returned, fixed up the guest bedroom. It took them several hours before they were finished.

"It's perfect! I'm sure he'll love it..." "Yeah took a lot of work though. What time is it anyway?" Sakura looks over at the clock. "Hmm looks like we got three hours before we open for the day. Let's go make some goods." "Agreed"

While Haru went to go prepare the berries, dough, and other things he may need, Sakura went to go check on Cilan, cause it's been several hours since they brought him home and he hadn't made a peep. She entered the living room and found him still sleeping. "Sound asleep, that's good..." She rubs his head and sighs sadly. "You remind me of our actual son... who was a Zorua... he went out one day and never came home... I know you could never replace him, but I hope you'll love us as much as we love you..." She then gently hugged him and tucked the blanket around him. "Sleep well, little fox..."

At the bakery, Haru and Sakura were hard at work making all sorts of desserts and pastries out of the various berries. "How's our son?" "Sound asleep. I'm sure he'll be waking up soon... and he'll have lots of questions. Btw I wanted to ask you about the day old pastries..." "Oh! Well I went on ahead and marked them down. I did set some aside for our boy." Sakura pouts at this. "What?" "Other Pokemon are gonna talk about our parenting skills... giving little fox sugar for breakfast." "Well he's our son, not theirs... also little fox? I thought his brothers called him Cilan." "They did, but I think it's a cute name for him, little fox that is." Haru sighs. Sakura is getting very attached to Cilan... "Sakura, let's not get carried away. We adopted him true enough, but we should use his actual name. Little fox should be used as a nickname, so he'll get used to it." "fine..."

They're almost done with what they're going to sell for the day, when Cilan walks in rubbing his eyes. Seems like he just woke up. "Well, look who's up and at 'em! How'd you sleep?" "Fine, I guess..." Cilan replied still a bit groggy. He didn't even notice his surroundings or recognize the voice that was talking to him... still he sat at one of the tables with his head down, still trying to shake the grogginess. He did come to briefly when he heard the sound of a breakfast tray being set in front him. "Here's your breakfast! Let me know if you want more!" This voice was female and very chipper, but he didn't recognize it either. Instead, he thanked whomever was giving him food and looked to see what it was he got: a plate full of donuts and some milk. Seems legit but he was a bit more awake now, so he decided to try the donuts.

To his surprise, they weren't sickening sweet like the ones Chili liked to eat all the time, no these were just right! They even have little bits of pecha and oran berries in them. He wasted no time in scarfing those down and asked for more. "Coming right up!" Sakura then handed him another plate happily. "Here you go little one, eat up!" "Thanks~" Cilan reached to take the next plate and came face to face with a very happy zoroark. This in turn caused him to choke on a donut that he was already eating on. Safe to say everyone panicked!

After 30 minutes of total chaos and calming down, things went back to normal, to an extent. Cilan now sat at a different table with Haru and Sakura. He had questions and just wanted to know what was going on.. "ok let me get this straight: you two witnessed how my brothers treated me last night and decided to adopt me... now I'm in a whole different world of Pokemon that I never knew existed..." "Yeah that sums it up so far..." Cilan paused before he spoke again. "Alright thanks for saving me back there." The two Pokemon blinked in surprise at his response. They fully expected him to want to return to his world. "You're not shocked or surprised by this?" "Honestly... I'm more surprised about what Cress and Chili did to me... they've never acted like that before..." At hearing this, Haru listened closely. "How were things last night before stuff started going downhill?" "They were normal. We had just finished dinner and it was my turn to do the dishes, but Cress said he got it and told me to go lie down. I can see his reasoning cause majority of the time I tend to eat a lot and I feel sleepy thereafter, in a way I guess he sensed that I was on the verge of falling asleep and sleeping while washing dishes doesn't mix..." "You could've drowned..." "Yeah..." "Speaking of eating, you might want to ease up with the donuts, that's like your fifth plate..." "They're so good though... I'll stop on my sixth." Spoiler alert: he didn't and ended up eating ten plates of donuts... shocking Haru and Sakura. "Whoa... you got quite the appetite there... are you sure you're alright?" "Yeah I'm fine." Sakura then picked him up, bridal style and carried him to his room. "That's good, but I'm still gonna put you down for a nap, Mister, so you can rest." "But I'm not... yawn... sleepy..." "You sound like it, Cilan, just rest up and when you wake up, we'll take a stroll around the town." "Oh fine..."

Sakura then tucked him in and left his door open a crack. "Hope you have pleasant dreams during your nap~"

She didn't get a response back, so she figured he most likely dozed off. She then went to go join Haru as he opened the bakery for that day's business. "I still can't believe he ate all those donuts... I'd be sick if I ate that many!" "Surprisingly he's not, maybe he really can eat a lot like he said." "He reminds me of our son, Ame. He was always hungry and never seemed to be satisfied." The two Pokemon then look at each other. "Haru... you don't think that Cilan might be..." "No it couldn't be... he would've recognized the house and bakery if that was the case. It's a pure coincidence that Cilan is friendly and has an appetite... just like Ame..."

They're quite unnerved by this but get to work anyway, as the customers start coming in
