Today is Valentine's Day.

Yeah. That's it.

Nothing special. No fireworks. No romance. Not even making love.

And in all honesty? She's fine with it. Well, she loves romance and love making; but that's beside the point. In all seriousness, she doesn't care about Valentine's Days that way. As a young girl, she would always wonder about the boy of her dreams and how he would react to her advances, her giving him chocolate and telling him how wonderful and cute he was to her.

Now, as an adult? She already has what she wants and more.

"Hey, do you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?"

She turns to stare at her boyfriend. She bluntly replies, "Other than your own voice?"

All her boyfriend does is laugh and sticks his tongue out at her, to which she just giggles in response. He mutters, "Prissy." She rolls her eyes at his playful remark. The two have been simply relaxing all day on the couch on this romantic day, lazing about and not caring about going out to eat or do anything a typical couple would do.

Ash and her have been dating for roughly three years now. It's been an incredible ride so far, and she has been happy ever since. Sure, the two will butt heads, but over silly stuff. Just about a month ago, she got on his case for leaving the toilet seat up. She once almost slipped into the toilet and gave him an earful of it. Ash just stated she should have looked before sitting down.

She still hasn't fully forgiven him for it.

"Alright, fine, Ash," she concedes with a mocking tone, "what's the most annoying sound in the world?"

Ash looks at her and then grins, his voice going two octaves higher as he does a high pitched, "Ta-da!" He poses, sticking his two hands out together, as if holding something to present to someone.

She just laughs at his attempt to insult her, "I do not sound like that, Ash Ketchum!" She states with mock anger, swatting his arm. He grabs his arm in a dramatic fashion, acting out the pain inflicted onto him by his girlfriend. She rolls her eyes at him, another laugh escaping from her. The boy of her dreams is such a child.

He finishes his theatrics, and he just kisses her head with a grin, "Nah, your voice is actually pretty, Serena."

The now identified girl known as Serena blushes, giving him a goofy smile. He can be quite sweet sometimes, even if he acts like a child. "Aww, thank you, babe."

The two kiss one another. The kiss is slow, but sweet at the same time.

The two pull away and Ash hands her a homemade card, to which makes her raise an eyebrow. Ash smirks, knowing what she was thinking, "No, I didn't buy you a card. What kind of boyfriend do you take me for?"

She gives him a weird look, "A stupid one?"

He pouts, "Just open the damn card, babe."

She snickers and opens the homemade card. She reads the contents, and she begins to smile widely, her eyes shimmer at what was written in the card.

"Dear Serena,

I know this isn't what we usually do, but I figured why the Hell not?

You know me as the boy that has no idea how romance works and truthfully?

I still have no idea! How are you dealing with me like this?

If I were you, I'd have left my sorry behind!

But that's what I love about you.

You're smart, patient, kind, cute, understanding, funny, and just… amazing.

I don't know what I've done to deserve you, but I'm glad we're together.

We won't ever give up on each other. Not even after the end.

I love you.

Happy Valentine's Day.

- Ash

P.S. I love your Poké Puffs.

P.P.S. And by "Poké Puffs", I meant your butt."

She laughs at the last message, looking back to her boyfriend, who rubs the back of his with a lopsided grin. She just jumps on him, kissing him passionately. The card slips from her hands, onto the floor, but they don't care. The couple continue to kiss, holding one another tightly. Ash feels something wet his face, prompting him to stop kissing his girlfriend. He looks at her as she has tears streaming down her face, instantly making him worry. "Serena? Wh-why are you crying?"

She sniffs, wiping the tears away, "No… no, it's nothing, Ash. I promise! It's… these are happy tears, I promise!" She chokes a small laugh, a smile on her face showing it to be genuine. "I just… You know how I feel about Valentine's Day, and you still went out your way to make this? Baby, that's so sweet of you."

Ash chuckles, scratching his cheek bashfully, "It's nothing, babe. I just wanted to do something different." He helps wipe away the stray tears and she gives him a loving smile.

"Now, I feel bad," she whispers, still giving him that smile that he can't help but find attractive, "I have to do something in return!"

Ash shakes his head in denial, "No, it's okay! You don't have to!"

She shushes him with a finger on his lips, giving him a firm look, but the smile betrays the look, "Let me! Besides, you like my Poké Puffs, so let me make you some!" Ash blinks, but then he grins at her proposal, happy to eat some dessert with his girlfriend.

"Really? Oh right! Best gift ever!"

She chuckles, "And after? I'll show you the other Poké Puffs you really like." She rolls her eyes at her boyfriend, whose eyes gleam at what she's now proposing. Her boyfriend is such a creep sometimes. She laughs, holding his hands, getting him up from the couch. "Come on, you perv, let's go make some Poké Puffs."

He nods and gets up with her, kissing her lips quickly. "Sure!"

The two walk together to the kitchen.

To Serena, maybe Valentine's Day isn't that bad after all.
