Chapter 3. Christmas preparations...
It was finally time, Christmas morning was finally around the bend, and it was now that Jack had to get ready for delivering presents. It was now his job after all.
At the moment he was looking in the mirror at himself making sure he was ready. He was currently wearing a Santa suit that was made special for him, but there was something missing. "I've got the beard, the coat, the boots, the belt-"
Suddenly a few elves shouted his name, and they told him that the Guardians had come back. He grinned and ran to a barred window, he opened it and looked down to see the Guardians, they looked confused and angry.
"Hello friends." Jack said.
"Jack, what have you done while we were gone?!" North demanded, sealed up doors and windows wasn't some normal cause. He saw a couple of yetis standing beside the skeleton and Norths eyes went wide. They looked dead like Jack, only more zombie looking.
"I got a bit lonely, but no worries everything is taken care of and ready for delivering!" Jack said.
North cursed and growled, this did not look good one bit and he had a terrible feeling. "Let us in, I will not allow you to do this to the yetis!"
"You mustn't fret my good sir, they have not been harmed. Surprised aren't you? I knew you would be. You don't need to have another worry about Christmas this year. Consider this vacation sending a reward. It's your turn to take it easy."
"But-but there must be some mistake!-" North said as the doors opened and lots of yetis and elves, or should I say monsters, marched out and took a hold of the frightened Guardians. Jack marched down to them and swiftly threw a magic powder on the Guardians. They instantly seemed to become ghosts!
"See that they're comfortable!" Jack said. "But wait...OF COURSE that's what I'm missing!" Jack acknowledged as he found Santa's hat and put it on. "Thanks."
"You can't just - where are we going now?!" North demanded as they were taken somewhere deep inside the Pole.
"HO, HO, HO! err... HO, ho, ho." Jack said, trying to practice Santa's jolly laugh.
'This is worse than I thought, much worse.' Tooth thought.
"I thought you might like to see the newly made version of the sleigh, not to mention the reindeer, and to see me fly off into the night!" Jack bellowed and all of the monstrous creatures shouted with praise and excitement.
'New version? What new version?' North thought with another surge of panic. This surly can't be happening! Jack was surly going to ruin Christmas! North saw that as the monster elves loaded the presents into the harshly made sleigh they were not pleasant or even children worthy, no parent would ever give their child a severed head or a toy duck full of bloody holes!
"Jack you must stop this at once!" North said.
"But why should I? I thought you might like a break for one night?" Jack said, becoming angry.
"NO! This is my JOB this is what I'm supposed to do!" North fought angrily.
"Not anymore!" Jack said as he turned and climbed up into the rusty sleigh, all of the reindeer skeletons in the front, pawing impatiently to get going. "I appreciate all of your help and kindness you've given me!" Jack announced to the crowed, and there were many applause as Jack said his speech, but it didn't last long, mist had started to appear all over the place and everyone looked around in confusion.
Bunny smirked at the other Guardians and gestured to the source of the mist, an egg bomb was laying on the floor gushing out the fog, Bunny had dropped it secretly in hopes for a delay and distraction to the zombies and Jack.
"Oh no, we can't take off in this. The reindeer can't see an inch in front of their noses!" Jack said with worry. The Guardians all sighed with relief.
"This fog is as thick as, as-"
"Jelly brains!"
"THICKER!"
Jack sat down in his seat with disappointment. "There goes all of my hopes, my precious plans! My glorious dreams." Jack said sadly.
"There goes Christmas..." an elf cried, wiping his tears away.
A little dog barked through the mist, a Christmas present that was supposed to go to a happy family. The ghost had a bright orange glow and it tried to grab Jacks attention.
"No Zero, down boy...My, what a brilliant nose you have. The BETTER to light my way! At the head of the team Zero!" Jack said to the ghostly dog, it flew in front of the reindeer and barked excitedly. The Guardians all had a sinking feeling, surly there could be something they could do? But they could do nothing, they were ghosts too now.
"We're OFF!" Jack yelled to the crowd and the reindeer galloped through the icy tunnel sprinting out through the other side just in time for the other creatures to see him go.
"Wait Jack! NO!" Tooth yelled out to him, but she went unheard. The others cheered as Jack drove off through the air, the moonlight reflecting off of the sleigh.
"HO, ho, ho, hahaha ho, ho, ho!" Jack yelled out through the night...
