Chapter 4. A Christmas disaster!

"WHOA HO HO ho ho! HEE, HEE, HEE!" Jack laughed as he drove the reindeer onward. He was finally to the first town and instantly knew what to do, go down the chimney and set presents under the Christmas tree. Jump out of the room and go to the next house, it was of course supposed to be a routine around the world every year. But it didn't matter much to Jack, he thought he had to much slack, as long as the children woke up in the morning to open their prizes that's all that mattered.

"ONWARD HIYA!" He yelled with a crack of his whip. The racing skeletons ran harder, and they seemed to carry the clouds with them as they went. Finally he arrived to the next house and dove through a window, stacking webby presents under the glowing tree, and hardened dead bugs and putting spider gum in the stockings. Till he turned around to come face to face with a half frightened little boy. Jack smiled kindly.

"And what's your name?" He asked with a deep voice trying to sound like Sandy Claws, at least, that's what he called him. The little boy seemed to have trouble forming words as he stared at Jack fearfully with fumbling fingers. "That's alright, I have a special present for you anyway! There you go sonny. Oh ho ho! Hee, hee hee!" he handed the trembling boy the stripy gift and grabbed his red sack and crawled out the window with his spidery limbs, laughing mischievously.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Throughout the night the police kept getting phone calls from all around the town and country side, reports about monsters invading their homes.

Jack was not aware of this but looked at his list of houses to visit. "Now who's next on my list?! Ah little Harry and Jordan, won't they be surprised?" he said. Suddenly there were bright lights shining on him and searching, he couldn't help but close his eyes being blinded by the bright lights, until one large bullet hit one of the reindeer and another hit the sleigh behind him. "THEY'RE TRYING TO HIT US!" Jack realized he was being attacked. He then looked ahead. "ZERO!" he called desperately. The dog barked in answer, but they weren't quick enough to avoid the next shot and it exploded the sleigh apart and Jack and the remains of his brilliant idea fell to earth.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIIIGHT!" Were his last words before he vanished...

Meanwhile back at Santa's work shop, the monsters and the Guardians had gathered around a globe that had allowed them to see Jack and his progress on Christmas eve. They were all shocked when he was blasted out of the sky and they mourned in sadness. Tooth couldn't help but burro her face into Norths shirt and sob.

Jack was gone forever, dead. And there was nothing they could do about it...other than look for his remains and give him a proper burial.

That was the tipping point for North, this all would have never happened if Jack hadn't found that potion room, and even more so if North hadn't even found and kept them to begin with. He was to blame in a way...

He marched off to that very room in anger, finding scattered bottles all over the floor.

Zombie Potion

Ghost potion

Goo Potion.

Bone Potion.

Werewolf Potion.

Clown Potion.

Lake Monster Potion.

Toxic Potion.

Flesh potion.

Witch Potion

And more.

There were many. North had to figure out a cure for them all.

…..And eventually, he did. He secretly gave all the yetis and elves their cure and they quickly turned back to normal, even himself and the Guardians. In fact the yetis and elves didn't even know what they were thinking to even agree with Jacks ideas. They were back to normal and very disturbed. Most of them afterwards had large hangovers. The rest of the potions were destroyed, never to be used again, including the ingredients on how to make them.

Yes, everything was back to normal now, North though did in fact have to re-do Christmas and make it right, not to mention, training new reindeer wasn't easy.

But it wasn't totally back to normal, and fare from it. They still didn't have their Jack...Nothing was the same without Jack...
