START OF CHAPTER 5 Noibat was very split on deciding whether or not to focus the Guild on saving Paras or Igglybuff, but they ended up deciding on saving Igglybuff, because Paras's life wasn't at risk, but Igglybuff was in the process of being sacrificed. So, the guild needed to save Igglybuff.
However, there's one hurdle. They didn't know where the people sacrificing Giratina were. But thankfully, Giratina's followers were absolute idiots and left a smoke signal in Morse Code saying "HEY GUYS WE'RE A GROUP OF GASTLY THAT ARE FOLLOWING GIRATINA AND WE ARE ABOUT TO SACRIFICE A CHILD" and since Tyrunt could read that, they headed off to the place. It was smooth sailing! For the first 5 minutes. There was heavy thunder and rain, and now since the smoke signals didn't work, they didn't know where the Gastly crew was. And since there was thunder, they didn't feel safe and decided to camp out for the night.
"Hey, everyone? Why are the Gastly doing this?" Yanma asked.
"Giratina needs food, Yanma! And instead of buying it from Trader Joe's or something, he's asking his followers to go kill babies!" Sentret responded, as he used to be part of Giratina's posse so he knows this.
"Giratina stinks!"
They all went to sleep, but when they woke up, Torchic noticed something.
"Guys! Yanma isn't here!
"Oh no? Is he okay?"
"Well, Noibat, best case scenario, he's right here and we can't see him. Worst case scenario, he's getting sacrificed by Gastly and the gang."
"Uncool!"
They decided to take a risk and continue to where they thought the Gastly Shack was. And fortunately, they found it very quickly, with Yanma. But unfortunately, those 2 chaps were about to get stabbed.
"YANMA!" the team screamed.
"Let's get you out!"
It was a long, hard-fought fight that almost caused a couple faintings. But in the end, the evil Gastly were defeated and Yanma and Igglybuff were rescued! They were scarred for life though. But there was one problem. They had no idea how to get home. They walked left, right, up, down, up and left, down and right, all the directions. But then, Torchic remembered he had something.
"I have a phone to call Paras with! Let's call the Pokemon Rescue Service!"
The Pokemon Rescue Service is a service that rescues Pokemon. (obviously what did you think that it was) But unfortunately they were a bit preoccupied, so they took a couple hours to appear. And on the walk home, everyone was relieved. But now that they were done with the Igglybuff rescue mission, they had a bigger Magikarp to fry. Getting a piece of the portal for Paras. Psyduck mentioned that someone heard Giratina talk about how the pieces of the portal were placed in all 4 corners of the island where all the Pokemon live, so the guild would have to effectively be nomads, traveling and doing quests for randos that need help. But everyone, including Sentret, was ready for this. But first, they needed to ask someone a question. "Hey, Paras!"
"What, Torchic?
"Do you want to go on this adventure with us?"
"You know what? Yes. I feel like I've been chickening out on everything for a while now, but I want to actually try something for once. I might die, but with you guys protecting me, I think that's a bit of a low chance. I'm ready to adventure with you all."
And everyone went off on the adventure to the northwest corner of Pokemon Island. But it was no easy feat, because directly northwest of the Guild, a very tall mountain was. And I know what you're thinking. "NARRATOR! Why can't the Guild just go a different direction?" Well, as it turns out, the mountain was surrounded by Sharpedo-infested waters, and if you know anything about Sharpedo, you know that the whole team would be screwed. So the team went and took the climb.
It was very treacherous, of course. Would you expect a multiple mile tall mountain climb to be not treacherous? And even right when the started, they were already exhausted. But luckily, they brought multitudes of food with them. But the bad part was that they brought so much food that the backpacks started weighing them down. On the way, people decided to converse, since they were so bored. Tyrunt and Bagon were arguing the whole time, Impidimp, Noibat, and Yanma were chatting about how annoying walking on the mountain was, and Rowlet, Torchic, Happiny, Sentret, and Paras were talking about Paras getting back to the Pokemon world. In the middle of the conversation, Paras started crying.
"What's got you down, Paras?"
"It should be obvious, Rowlet! I've been in here for 1 week now, and I've kept complaining about how much my family and friends miss me! There's not been a single second of my time here where I felt that this was better than the human world! I'm not even sure why I went on this gigantic adventure! I could just sleep in at the Guild, where I'd be content, but no! I only went on this adventure for you! And you guys are great and all, but not even close to being as great to my human friends! Just leave me alone."
"Okay, I guess."
"You know, Rowlet, this whole practice of sending in humans to save the world feels a bit weird, considering the fact that they never get reincarnated as a Pokemon that could, like Gyarados or Tyranitar. They always just turn into a small little creature like that. And Paras isn't even the most disappointing. Remember the guy that got turned into a Kricketot?"
"Yeah. I'm shocked he was okay with it in the first place."
"Also, why do barely any Pokemon evolve?"
"I don't know. I guess they just choose not to, because they know evolving is one of the worst pains you can feel. I heard Bagon's been thinking of evolving for a while, but doesn't like the commitment."
"Interesting."
