Captain Donald Duck, leader of the Duck/McDuck family sails his house boat towards the money bin for a magical showdown with Magica De Spell who has Scrooge trapped in his own dime. After Daisy and Beakely finish setting things up they walk inside with Beakely proceeding to take back her command.
Beakely: Alright, just like when I lead the Uprising in Eagle Salvia… She shoves Donald away and takes the wheel. I'll take the wheel, you-
Once again she's cut off and Donald takes back the wheel.
Donald: Nuh-uh! My house, my rules! I'm the leader of this Shadow War so you'll follow my orders lady!
Beakely is shocked that her authority has once again been taken from her and at the same time shows admiration for his confidence and leadership and knows it's best not to cross Donald when he's like this.
Beakely: Aye aye…sir!
Daisy giggles to see the shocked and wide-eyed expression on Beakely's face and nudges her on the shoulder as Donald continues to sail towards the bin.
Daisy: Looks like someone just stripped you of most of your authority, Agent 22?
Beakely: All of a sudden I feel like I have no authority whatsoever. The women turn to each other. How is Donald able to just take charge like this? Usually me and Mr. McDuck do that?
Daisy: Daisy just smiles as she answers. Donald's been on just as many adventures as you have. And for over an entire year, he travelled with Goofy and Sora, fighting various creatures of darkness
Beakely: We have faced dangerous foes like that before.
Daisy: According to Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey, the kinds of foes they, Sora, Riku, and Kairi have fought are entirely different and even more dangerous. I haven't really fought the heartless as much as Donald has, but I've learned what they're capable of.
Beakely: They then look back to Donald who's so focused on sailing that he doesn't hear what they're saying. I just still can't believe he had the nerve to take over-
Daisy: I know, I know. But Donald knows how to be a good leader whenever something happens to the people he cares about. He's more focused and determined times 10. You've seen what he's capable off when either myself, Della or the boys get hurt or captured.
Beakely: Beakely sighs in acceptance and agreement, having seen what Donald's rage first hand. Very well then…I suppose I can live with this. Besides, he seems to be handling the job of leadership quite well so far. They both smile at him proudly, especially Daisy.
Daisy: Yep, that's my Donald.
Donald: Donald turns in their direction. Oh and by the way. Since we're headed for a big battle you may want to suit up and dress for the occasion.
Daisy: Daisy thumbs to the door. You know I brought some garments with me to the houseboat just for an occasion like this. I'll be right back. She opens the door and flirtatiously winks at her boyfriend. I hope you'll be careful not to crash the boat handsome.
Donald: Donald winks back at his girlfriend. Do I look like Launchpad to you toots?
Daisy chuckles before taking her leave to get changed. Beakely however, looks to the captain in concern.
Beakely: Unfortunately, I don't have any garments that are suitable for a large-scale war such as this.
Donald: Don't worry Mrs B. I got you covered.
He waves his hand to small desk releasing sparkles that summon Beakely's old Agent 22 outfit which consisted of a pink jumpsuit and dark red boots. She grabs it in surprise.
Beakely: I remember this! This was what I wore during my days as a secret agent! How did you…?
Donald: Uncle Scrooge taught me some spy skills himself. Also…he gives a sly look. Magic is capable of a lot of things.
Beakely: Beakely has her eyes widened in surprise but then replaces her expression with a smile. Thank you Donald.
They smile at each other and Beakely throws Donald a harpoon gun.
Beakely: Get ready for the storm.
Donald catches it and looks to the Money Bin where Magica continues to grow more and more powerful, determined to set things right with his uncle and stop the evil witch from destroying his home, causing the fire in his eyes to build up even more. He gives the gun a quick spin and glares at Magica.
Donald: I AM the Storm.
As Donald steers his boat towards the Money Bin the shadow vortex keeps growing larger and Magica is having the time of her life on her throne.
Magica: Ahh…best seat in the house. She brings out some papers. Now the revenge monologue I've been planning for 15 years. She waves her hair while holding up Scrooge. "To my most hated nemesis." That's you. *Scrooge furrows his eyebrows.8 "As you know, you and your kids banished me to a netherworld within your dime where I've been biding my time devising your delicious downfall! In conclusion-" She stops and begins reorganising. Wait, these are out of order. Hold on, hold on! Magica notices Scrooge rolling his eyes, making her vehemently angry. Don't roll your eye at me! I've been trapped for 15 years; I'm entitled to a full minute of gloating! She grabs the dime and gets up dramatically. I will make you watch as I destroy everything you've ever loved, starting with your precious little town! She aims her staff at Duckburg before becoming satisfied. Ooh, that's good, I'll get a pen.
Unbeknownst to everyone Dewey, Huey, Louie and Webby are at Lena's place at the abandoned theatre trying to find her.
Huey: Lena…
Dewey: YO LENAAAA!
Webby: Where are you!? Webby puts her hands together in fear for her best friend. Ooh! What if my best friend was taken by the shadows!?
Louie: Lena's tough! There's no way she'd get captured that easily!
Dewey: He's right, Webby, don't lose faith. Remember, Ducks don't back… He pauses when he stomps his feet on a floorboard that opens up. Down.
A ladder leading to a secret room is revealed which peaks their curiosity.
Meanwhile, Gyro's team get ready to play their roles. The scientist prepares a ray gun with determination and the need for vengeance in his eyes.
Gyro: Tonight, we seek revenge on those who destroyed our lab! Are you ready men!?
Manny: (Sir, yes sir)
(A/N: The brackets mean he's speaking in Morse code.)
Lil'Bulb gives a salute, delighting Gyro.
Gyro: Excellent! And whoever destroys the most shadows will earn an increase in their pay. He walks towards the bridge. Oh, and the loser has to clean the bathroom for a month. Good luck! Manny and Lil'Bulb look to each other.
Manny: (I really don't want to clean the bathroom.)
As for Launchpad, he's in the fixed up Sunchaser getting ready for takeoff. He sits down, straps in his seat belt and prepares the plane.
Launchpad: Pilot to co-pilot we're ready for launch, could be dangerous, suggested flight path.
He looks to his "co-pilot" which unsurprisingly happens to be a Darkwing Duck bobble head. He presses on it and it speaks his favourite words.
Bobble head: Let's get dangerous!
Launchpad gives the thumbs up and soars the Sunchaser into the air.
Donald continues sailing his house boat to the money bin with unwavering courage and determined to stop Magica and make amends with his uncle.
Donald: Uncle Scrooge…I know I let you down 10 years ago, I'm not gonna let you down again by making the same mistake. I promise I'll make things right after we stop Magica.
He hears someone come in through the door.
Daisy: Okay, Donald. I'm all changed.
Donald: That's great to… When Donald turns to see Daisy he became utterly stunned and lost in his own world when he saw what she was wearing. Whoa…
Daisy twirls around in her new battle outfit and gladly shows off her beauty. She was wearing a purple vest with three gold buttons on each side and darker purple collars (similar to Roxas'), a light purple belt with a gold buckle, completely dark purple boots with dark tops, ankles and tongues, and magenta belts with gold belt buckles on it. She also had on her royal tiara and purple armbands wrapped below her shoulder. (1)
She smiles flirtatiously at her boyfriend who had his beak wide open in absolute amazement.
Daisy: So…how do I look?
Donald: Donald walks up and stands directly opposite of Daisy. Wow, Daisy, you look really beautiful. Then again…you always look beautiful in anything you wear.
Daisy: Daisy blushes sheepishly from the compliment. Oh, Donald. Thank you! She then dreamily leans forward to her face. And you know…you look handsome in any outfit you wear.
She gives a kiss on the cheek, making Donald blush and sheepishly chuckle while rubbing his face. The romantic moment probably would've went on if they hadn't heard strict coughing from outside. They walk up to the wheel to see Beakely standing at the front deck strictly staring at them with her hands on her hips.
Beakely is wearing her old Agent 22 outfit consisting of a light pink full-sleeved jumpsuit reaching all the way up her neck, dark purple boots, dark purple belt with a silver buckle and large, blue hoop earrings. She is not wearing her glasses.
Beakely: I hate to ruin your romantic moment but you do remember we have a vile, dark sorceress to take care off.
Donald: Uh…right!
Daisy: Oh! Right! Sorry!
Donald and Daisy gets serious again as the sailor of the seven seas grabs the wheel and gets back to sailing and Daisy runs outside to join Beakely at the front deck. When she stops to take a good look at Beakely's outfit she can't help but smile.
Daisy: You look good in that outfit Beakely.
Beakely: Beakely smiles back. Thank you dear. Even after all these years it's still a perfect fit.
Donald: Okay Daisy, Bentina, get ready. We're almost at the bin, once we arrive there's no turning back so be prepared to fight with everything you got.
The girls nod in agreement.
Beakely: Understood.
Daisy: Roger.
They both look on ahead and Daisy holds up her hand in the air, summoning her sharp sword which she brings down to hold by her side. The girls are ready for a fight as Donald sails on.
Donald: Look alive ladies! We're about to come up on the Money Bin which is right now being run by the most black-hearted mage in all of Duckburg! (1)
Meanwhile, the kids find themselves in Lena's room which is a complete and creepy mess. It consists of creepy posters, a messy bed and red curtain at the back.
Huey: Is this where Lena lives?
Louie: It explains why she's always sleeping over at our house.
Webby: Lena! Sorry to barge in unannounced! They look around but can see no sign of her.
Huey: Maybe she's hiding.
Dewey bends down and finds a journal underneath the bed.
Dewey: A journal! He takes it out and opens it to read until Webby comes up and takes it off his hand.
Webby: You can't read her journal! Although, if she were taken she might've left a note. They look at it and Webby becomes amazed with what she sees. A poem! Holds the book and looks up in admiration. Best friend, rebel, poet, is there anything Lena can't do. *Huey urges her to read on. She clears her throat, opens up and reads the poem.i
Webby: To end the line of Clan McDuck,
She sought a token of their luck.
(Flashback)
We go back to Donald and his family's battle with Magica at the moment Scrooge grabs the dime.
Webby: With the eclipse in its prime,
She'd trap old Scrooge in his dime.
Scrooge's number one dime drops to the ground. Magica sends a bolt of lightning and attempts something with the dime but Scrooge grabs it just as the bolt hits. Scrooge does everything he can to hold back Magica's spell. Donald and Della are leaped onto Magica. The witch struggles to escape and her spell falters.
Webby: But Scrooge reversed her vengeance plan,
And in her dime the witch did land.
Eventually the Duck Twins are blown off but Scrooge is able subdue Magica and sends out a flash of light from his dime that sucks in Magica. Her staff is left behind, the orb turns into an amulet and Donald, Della (Who's being held by Donald over his shoulder) and Scrooge, though a little injured and bruised relish their victory. The three of them walk away and leave the mountains. Unbeknownst to them Magica's shadow had left her and grabs onto the amulet taking shape.
Webby: I walk the earth and wield her power,
To bring about McDuck's last hour.*
*That shadow to the form of a female duck. And that Duck…is Lena De Spell.
(End of Flashback)
Everyone, especially Louie and Webby is horrified with what they've learnt about Lena. Louie feels his heart shatter into a million pieces. The love of his life, the girl who understood what is like to be him, the girl he created a close connection with never cared about him this whole time. She was really a spy working for the enemy and only got closer to them to get Scrooge's dime.
Webby being heartbroken and emotionally shattered because the first female best friend she ever made worked for Magica this whole time and was using her but unbeknownst to her and Louie that had stopped being the case a long time ago.
Dewey: Lena is Magica's spy!?
Huey: Lena is a shadow!?
Webby: She betrayed us all to free Magica…! She looks at the bracelet that symbolised their friendship in sadness. She was never my friend.
Louie: No… They watched Louie take a step, eyes widened in horror and disbelief. It can't be true! Th-this has to be a mistake! He snatches the diary and randomly flips through the pages. Lena, can't be a traitor, she just can't! She risked her life to save us more than once! We hugged and everything! It has to be a lie! Everyone could only look at Louie in sorrow, understanding his feelings for Lena. There's gotta be something in here!
He finds a note on one of the pages and takes it out to give it a read. They gather around Louie to take a closer look.
Dewey: What did you find?
Huey: It looks like a list. Huey reads it aloud.
Step 1: Trick Scrooge's family.
Step 2: Get Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby to think I'm their friend.
Step 3: Get invited to a series of sleepover.
Step 4: Steal Scrooge's Number One Dime and free Magica on the day of the Lunar Eclipse.
Whatever hope the kids had that Lena wasn't evil was completely gone now. Louie and Webby were forced to except reality and their expressions were shattered. Louie and Webby could feel tears well up in their eyes as they all process what they've just read.
Huey: So Lena was after Scrooge's dime to free her creator. That's why she was obsessed with finding it in the Other Bin.
Dewey: So, then…Lena was our enemy this whole time? She was only being our friend just to free Magica? All that stuff about an abusive aunt was all a lie? They worriedly look to Louie and Webby who are letting tears drop from their faces. Louie… Webby… you both okay?
Webby: I thought she was my best friend…how could she betray me like this?
Louie: How many secrets do we have to put up with? First, you and Webby, then Donald and Scrooge and now Lena, I can't believe it! He grabs clutches his hair so hard he was close to pulling it off. Was anything she said to us ever real!? Did she even care about me at all!?
They both slump in misery, prompting the Huey and Dewey to cheer her up with Huey putting a hand on Webby's shoulder and Dewey doing the talking.
Dewey: You may not have her but you both still have us. We're family. He puts a hand on her other shoulder. And ducks don't-
Webby: Save it!
Webby is in no mood hearing the motto and pushes them both off, causing Huey to stumble back a little. It was at that moment a note drops from the diary. Dewey notices and picks it up to take a read of it. What he sees makes him gasp and look to the grumpy Louie and Webby.
Dewey: Guys, look at this!
Louie: What? Is it some heartbreaking evil scheme?
Dewey: No. It's a letter from Lena addressed to the four of us.
Huey, Louie & Webby: What!?
They gather around reading Lena's letter to them and as they do they can hear her voice in their heads.
Dear, Huey, Dewey, Louie & Webby,
If you're reading this then that means you've found my secret bedroom…It also means you've found out my big secret. I know what you're thinking and I know you must hate me but listen. I confess, I am the shadow of my Aunt Magica De Spell given a corporeal body. I was created to trick you guys and take Scrooge's Number One Dime to free her. But I want you all to know…my whole life may have been a lie…but our friendship…that was never a lie. At first it was just an act but then…after I started to get to know all of you, especially Louie and Webby, I realized how much I really like you guys. I want you all to know that I'm so sorry for betraying and lie to you. And I'm sorry I took advantage of you like this Webby. The truth is…I was the one who unleashed the Money Shark in Scrooge's Money Bin. But after seeing how out of control it was, how you and Louie were willing to sacrifice yourselves to save me and what family is truly all about…I made my choice. I wanted to be with you guys…but Magica wouldn't let me be free. I'm bound to her as a shadow and the only way to sever that connection was to take the dime. Until then I was nothing but her slave. I just wanted her out of my hair forever. But after seeing you all die in my nightmare in the Other Bin…I just couldn't do it. I couldn't sacrifice you guys…my friends just to save myself. I wanted to tell you all the truth from that point on, but…I was too late. Magica had gained enough power to take control off my body. I couldn't do anything about it. At some point I was able to fight back long enough to be able to write this letter to all of you. Dewey, Huey… Louie… Webby… I want you all to know that I meant every word I said in the other bin. You guys are like my siblings and I really love all of you. For my whole life I thought family was good for nothing but now…I wish I was a real part of your family. But I guess that won't be possible… I'm not a real person… I'm just a thing and by the time you read this letter I'll probably be absorbed back into my aunt, becoming an incorporeal shadow again. When that time comes I want you to know…I'm really gonna miss you guys, especially you Louie and Webby. And also…I'm sorry…for everything.
Love, Lena
P.S. If you want to know more information on how you can beat Magica then look for a couple of red curtains. That's all I can do to help you now.
P.P.S. I've never actually written a letter like this before.
After reading this heart-warming letter the kids were near tears. Louie and Webby were both crying while Huey sniffs from reading Lena's words, happy to know she truly did care about them but at the same time devastated at the fact they'll never see her again.
Webby: Lena…you really were our friend…MY best friend.
Dewey: So Lena really does have an abusive aunt. His eyebrows lower in hate for Magica. Magica…she must've been tormenting Lena all her life.
They all have hateful expressions aimed at Magica for using her niece.
Louie: That monster…she was using our friend for her own selfish ends! She wasn't family to her; Lena was just a tool to Magica.
Webby: Poor Lena. She must've wanted to so desperately run away from Magica for real.
Huey: But the only problem was she couldn't run away from her. She felt stealing the dime was the only way to be free.
Then they look to each other remembering the events of the Money Shark and the Other Bin feeling almost tearfully touched over Lena's words and actions.
Louie: But she didn't take the dime…She cared more about us than her freedom…She was willing to sacrifice her freedom to save and help us.
Webby: And she ended up getting possessed for it.
Dewey: That just proves how much she really cares for us.
Webby: She may be her niece and creation but Lena is nothing like Magica at all.
Louie: She's was her own person… the person we know and love…
Huey: Lena was a hero… whether Magica liked it or not.
Louie clenches his free fist as he and Webby are once again crying after reading the last part of Lena's letter where she said she would be absorbed back into her aunt.
Louie: But…because Magica didn't like it…now she's gone…
Webby: Lena…why did this have to happen to you? It's not fair…
Webby begins to quietly sob and in a fit of rage Louie tosses the diary away and it slams into the wall, though that doesn't stop Louie himself from crying and bringing in Webby for a hug for her to cry onto him. Dewey and Huey join in the hug to provide whatever comfort they can give.
Webby: I'm really gonna miss her.
Louie: Me too. I really liked her.
Webby: We all did.
Dewey: As long as we keep her memory, she'll never be forgotten
Huey: No one is ever truly gone. (2)
Louie's expression switches from tearful to determined as everyone separates and he holds up his clenched fists.
Louie: Well, I'm not gonna stand around and lets some ugly witch hold our friend as her prisoner.
All of them now have serious and determined expressions.
Dewey: He's right! This just turned into a bigger rescue mission!
Webby: We have to save both Lena and Uncle Scrooge!
Huey: Lena said to look for red curtains in here.
They look around and spot some red curtains hanging at the back of the room. Huey walks to them and opens them up, revealing a wall painting depicting Magica's escape from the dime and trapping Scrooge in it as revenge.
Huey: Uh…guys, check this out. They all get next to him and look at the painting. Magica used the power of the eclipse to escape Scrooge's dime.
Louie: Only to trap him there instead.
Dewey: Dewey holds up his fists in courage and determination. We have to get to that dime and save Scrooge and Lena ourselves! And I know just how to De-wey it…
He walks over to the door with a big smirk on his face while everyone just rolls their eyes at him.
Meanwhile Magica is torturing Scrooge. Luckily he can't feel pain in the dime but unfortunately Magica can still get to him through his treasure. She opens up a small chest full of diamonds and gold.
Magica: Is this your favourite treasure? She zaps it with her staff as Scrooge watches in horror. Ooh, too bad, now it's ice-cream. The treasure turns into ice cream and she holds it right in Scrooge's face. Want a lick? She throws it away for spite. Whoops!
She sadistically glares at an angry Scrooge.
Magica: How does it feel…Scroogie?
She hears the Sunchaser and Donald's houseboat coming towards them. She particularly becomes interested in the house boat, knowing Donald's in there.
Magica: Is that Donald Duck? Ooh, looks like your nephew and your family is coming to play. She floats in the air and has the dime float as well before giving Scrooge a mocking wave. Say goodbye McDuck.
Magica laughs evilly and first takes aim at Gyro's team on the bridge.
Magica: Fall!
She swings her staff like a baseball bat and sends an energy blast so Gyro's team jump out of the way to avoid getting vaporised.
Magica: She then sets her sights in Donald. Hatharam!
She launches another energy blast but Storkules doesn't call Donald sailor of the 7 seas for nothing. He expertly spins the wheel and avoids the blast.
Magica: Magica gathers shadows. Tennis thing!
She sends out a blast of shadows at the Sunchaser but Launchpad uses some serious skills and spins around them to dodge but she's not done.
Magica: Sports! She cackles as she unleashes a flurry of energy blasts at Donald and the rest of the team.
While she's distracted by Donald, Dewey, Huey, Louie and Webby are swimming underwater wearing oxygen masks and tanks. They swim to Gyro's destroyed underwater lab which is surprisingly still intact. They enter through the broken window and go to the elevator door. Dewey and Huey open it up and the 4 ducklings swim up the shaft.
Dewey, Huey and Webby are the first to arrive at the ground floor. They take off their oxygen tanks and masks before drying themselves off. Louie is the last to emerge from the water and he proudly shows off his Golden Khopesh which Dewey threw away.
Louie: Look what I found. Dewey, Huey and Webby glare at him. What we like Scrooge again!? He shrugs it off and climbs up. Oh, whatever. Get your own Khopesh. He takes off his equipment and sheathes his Khopesh in his back.
Dewey: Elevator's busted. How are we gonna get to the bin entrance in the top floor?
With no other alternative they're forced to make their way up the stairs.
Launchpad makes his move and attempts to do what he does best.
Launchpad: Sorry to crash the party! He moves the control stick forward and tries crash into the bin but Magica gathers more shadows and unleashes a stream that sends the Sunchaser off course like it's a baseball but Launchpad does a 180 and tires again. Sorry to crash the party!
Once again the plane is knocked away but Launchpad refuses to give up, though he's getting a little frustrated.
Launchpad: Crash. The. Par…ty! Once again the plane is knocked aside. Not cool!
As Launchpad draws some of Magica's attention Gyro, Manny and Lil'Bulb are faced with a swarm of shadows on the bridge. Manny and Lil'Bulb do their best to punch or kick as many shadows as they could while Gyro fires continuous laser shots. The shadow mass gets annoyed with constant firing so they grab him first and shake him about, causing him drop his ray gun.
Gyro: You'll never take me alive! He's thrown away, leaving Manny and Lil'Bulb on their own while Gyro is taken to Magica. Wait, no please, take me alive! Magica literally reels Gyro in without even knowing who he is.
Magica: At last, one of Scrooge's beloved neph-! She realizes she didn't capture a nephew but instead someone different. Wait, who are you?
Gyro: I…am Scrooge's number one scientist! Magica looks to Scrooge.
Magica: Blink once if this guy is a close friend, twice if he's just a work acquaintance.
Scrooge blinks twice, causing Gyro to groan in hurt.
Magica: Bah! Seeing she has no use for him Magica blasts Gyro away and sends him falling to the water. He then turns her attention to Donald. And now for you…Donald Duck…!
Donald continues sailing his houseboat through the waters but is being followed by shadows. He tries to speed up his boat but unfortunately the engines have pretty much run out of gas and the chimney releases dark green few much to Donald's dismay.
Donald: No! No! No! Not now!
With steam running out the boat slows down until it remains in once place. Beakely uses a combination of chops, elbows and punches to destroy any incoming shadows.
Daisy holds her sword in a back-handed stance and launches a series of graceful swings to slice apart more incoming Shadow. She kicks one off the boat and elbows one that attacks from behind.
They immediately look to the captain for orders.
Beakely: What do we do captain!?
Donald: My boat's run out of gas! We gotta get to the bin! Daisy and Beakely assess the situation before firmly nodding, realizing what they must do.
Beakely: You go! We'll be fine! She cracks her knuckles. Haven't had a proper fight in a while anyway.
Daisy: You go to the Bin and challenge Magica to a showdown Donald. Beakely and I will stay here to hold these Shadows at bay.
Donald: This puts Donald in panic and looks at the swarm of shadows around them. What!? I can't leave you two alone! There's way too many of them!
Daisy: Donald! It'll be okay! Trust us! She turns and slashes another incoming shadow.
Beakely: You're the only one who has the power to defeat Magica, Donald! It's up to you! Do it for Scrooge! She spin kicks another shadow and elbows down a second one.
Donald: But Daisy, Mrs B…
Donald is a little hesitant at first to leave Daisy and Beakely by themselves due to the amount of shadows surrounding them but seeing the pleading look on their faces and knowing what his girlfriend and the former agent are capable off he puts his trust in them. He carefully comes out of the deck and first runs over to Daisy, putting his hands on her shoulder in worry.
Donald: Daisy, please promise me you'll stay alive. I already lost one part of me. If I lose another part of me, I don't know what I'd do.
Daisy gently places her hand on his with a loving smile.
Daisy: I'll be okay, Donald. I promise. Now you go and be the hero I know you truly are.
Donald smiles lovingly and gives a kiss on the cheek, making Daisy blush as Donald rushes over to the edge of the front deck.
Donald: Mrs B, look after Daisy and my BOAT! Donald leaps up like a professional and dives into the water. He swims over to the bin, intent on saving his uncle.
Daisy and Beakely get into a battle stances, Beakely mainly knowing she does not want to face Donald's wrath if he were to find out she failed to protect his home.
Beakely: HA! If Donald can keep this bucket afloat, how hard could it be?
Daisy: Not very!
The women do battle with the shadows. While Daisy cuts the shadows to pieces with backhanded slices and blasting them with Pearl spells, Beakely is doing a good job in expertly punching and throwing them away but they're not doing as good a job in protecting the house boat as it begins getting torn to pieces much to their dismay.
Beakely: Hey! What's the big idea!?
More shadows appear and begin latching onto Beakely like leeches. Agent 22 struggles to get them off and she groans in agony as she feels their weight forcing her to her knees.
Daisy punches one of the shadows away, spin kicks another incoming one and casts a fire spell on a couple of them, only for one of the shadows to tackle her and grabs her sword. Daisy struggles to push back against it until another shadow morphs into a large claw and slams into her. Daisy screams as she is slammed into the edge of the deck. Her sword is blown away and now she chokes as she begins to get strangled and the other shadow morphs into a large claw, joining in and making things worse for Daisy.
More shadow latch onto Beakely and she feels herself sink further but she finds the strength to get back up and blow them away before grabbing one and constantly smashing him against his brethren. Beakely is panting in exhaustion until she spots Daisy's struggle against Magica's shadows. The lady-in-waiting's face is already blue and is already at her last breath. Beakely rips some floorboards from the deck and tosses them at the shadows, completely severing their claws. Daisy catches her breath and summons her blade to finish them off with a blizzard spell. She gets up walking over to Beakely, panting in exhaustion with her. They weakly smile as they pant but unfortunately their situation goes worse when they hear the sounds of flames and turn to see the houseboat set on fire.
Daisy & Beakely: Aw, phooey.
Daisy is 100% likely to be let off but Beakely, not so much. Not even Agent 22's training can save her from the wrath of Donald Duck who's an even more potent fighter than she is.
Dewey, Huey, Louie and Webby continue walking up the stairs but they are getting increasingly tired from the steps they've been taking up.
Louie: Louie…out… Being the laziest Louie eventually drops down but to everyone's greatest surprise his shadow reappears. In fact, all their shadows come back to kill them.
Huey: Um…guys, when did our shadows come back?
Shadow Huey tackles Huey, Webby screams as she gets tackled by Shadow Webby and Dewey gets sent rolling down the stairs by Shadow Dewey who pins him down. Shadow Louie is wrestling on the ground with Louie. Webby is getting restrained via her shoulders.
Webby: Cut the lights so we won't cast shadows!
Dewey manages to grab Louie's fallen Khopesh and throws it like a boomerang into some wires, completely turning off the lights. The entire area becomes dark much to Huey's dismay.
Huey: Now we can't see!
Webby: Luckily, Webby has her night vision goggles which she puts on. I can.
Dewey: Everyone hold hands and for a chain behind Webby!
They all do just that but Louie groans in disgust when he grabs Huey.
Louie: Eww! Huey, your hands are clammy!
After grabbing his Khopesh, Webby leads the boys up the stairs but Dewey could tell his brothers are feeling deterred.
Dewey: Come on guys! Ducks don't back down!
Huey: I've literally never heard that family motto before today!
Louie: We're never gonna find Scrooge's office.
Louie is proven wrong when Webby opens the door and they find themselves in Scrooge's office. Dewey triumphantly rises up his fists and Webby takes off her goggles.
Dewey: I found Scrooge's office!
They gasp in horror when the shadow versions of Gabby, Falcon Graves, the Beagle Boys and Beakely emerge in front of them. The kids realize how outpowered and outnumbered they are.
Dewey: Okay, maybe we should've listened to…
Suddenly, Donald leaps up giving a battle cry onto Shadow Bouncer, putting him in a strangle hold and surprising everyone in the room.
Dewey: Uncle Donald!?
Donald tightens his grip and pins Shadow Bouncer to the floor before violently turning to the other shadows.
Donald: Get away from my kids!
He wraps his arms around Shadow Falcon before tossing him away and bends back to avoid being stabbed by Shadow Gabby who he punches away. Shadow Gabby gets out a larger sword and attempts to cut Donald to pieces but he rolls underneath to evade before jumping up to deliver a right hook to the face, destroying her. Shadow Beakely, Big Time and Burger rush at him together but the most powerful member of the Duck/McDuck family was ready. He charges in with a battle cry.
Shadow Big Time tries to punch him but Donald slides underneath before jumping up and off Shadow Burger and then flips to avoid a kick from Shadow Beakely. He gets some good distance away from them and faces the three shadows. They rush towards him again but this time Donald does nothing. Then to his nephew and niece's shock he blocks a chop from Shadow Beakely, grabs Shadow Burger's fist and uses his knee to block a punch from Shadow Big Time. Dewey, Huey, Louie and Webby watch with their mouths wide open in amazement. (3)
Huey: Whoa!
Webby: He blocked them without even looking, even Granny's shadow!
Louie: Coolest Uncle ever!
Dewey: He is the best person to ever walk upon the face of the Earth!
With a yell, Donald releases a shockwave that sends the three of them flying. Shadow Beakely recovers and attempts to use a series of martial arts moves on him but it's clear Donald has her and the real Beakely outclassed because he was able to dodge and block every one of them with his own moves. He delivers a couple punches to the face, and then Shadow Beakely tries to swing her arms but Donald ducks and punches her in the stomach, sending her back. She tries one more time but this time Donald grabs her wrist and tosses her over. She slams into Shadow Bouncer who was just getting up, destroying them both. Donald proceeds to finish off Shadow Big Time and then Shadow Burger. The kids are left in awe with what their Uncle just achieved but that's replaced by fear when he turns to them with a furious expression as though he's angry with them for their disobedience. Louie attempts to calm him down.
Louie: We can explain!
Webby: Uncle Donald we're sorry, we-
Instead of being angry Donald walks over to them with a proud smile.
Donald: There's no need to apologize kids. I wanted you to disobey me; it was part of my plan.
Dewey, Huey, Louie & Webby: Say what!?
Donald: I told you not to come so of course you disobeyed me and showed up, and just when I need you.
Louie: Classic reverse psychology; feel like I should've seen that coming.
Dewey: You mean you're okay with us fighting Magica?
Huey: Aren't you afraid we'll get hurt?
Donald: Of course I'm afraid. Donald bends down and looks at them with compassion. But I've also learned that you kids are responsible and capable of looking after yourselves now. After all, you're Della's kids and you're my kids too; you can do anything and I'll always believe that you can.
The kids are close to tears, touched by the trust their uncle has in them, a big improvement from his past overprotectiveness. The moment is ruined when more shadow creatures emerge, prompting Donald to push the triplets and Webby to the vault. They walk into the bin itself and Donald holds onto the vault door, smiling faithfully and with fire.
Donald: Go save our uncle! He gives a wink. I'll take care of these big palookas' and join you later. Ducks don't back down! He closes the door on them.
Dewey: See, I told you it's a thing!
Huey: It's cooler when he says it.
Donald turns to the swarm shadows in front of him smiling evilly.
Donald: I don't suppose you'll accept a truce? To respond to his question hundreds of more shadows emerge and now he's faced with an army. He cracks his knuckles and gets ready for a fight. Fine! You want a fight, you got one! He puts up his fists. Come and get it you no good-! He does his version of a roar and spins his fists while charging at the shadows.
The kids walk to the edge of the platform but a blast destroys it, sending them falling and screaming towards the ground but Webby fires her grappling hook and swings around, grabbing Huey, Dewey and Louie. They all land on the coins safely before Webby retracts her hook. They look up at the money throne and are not face to face with the evil sorceress herself.
Magica: Ooh, look. Children. She smiles at sadistically and the kids step back in a little fear. She surrounds herself in an electrified force field and floats to the bottom. When she lands she reveals Scrooge's dime before aiming her staff at the four ducklings. Come and get it.
