Author's Note from Mat49324: It's time for another one-shot - #25. I'd been toying around with this for a little while now, and I think this would be pretty fun to do. I admit, I have seen dunk tanks at some functions in my home state of Hawaii, and I figured it'd be nice to see how the spies would get a kick out of this. So, for now, here's The Blue Time Ranger if he's got something he'd like to say.
Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Holy crapbaskets, I haven't seen a dunk tank since I was a kid, and that was at the carnivals I went to. So, let's see how the spies react to this oldie, eh? ROLL IT!
Title: Day of the Dunk
Summary: The spies were planning a beach day, but Clover's volunteered to take part in a dunk tank booth. Will Sam, Alex, and Britney find this amusing or will they find this fun?

1:27 P.M. – Santa Monica Pier
The spy friends were enjoying themselves on the Santa Monica Pier. The only one of the spies who was not among them was Clover. Nick, Mat, and Blaine were looking around at everything.
"It sounds so odd for Clover to not be around with us," Alex told Sam and the others.
Alex had on a yellow Chinese outfit showing her midriff (think S2's Evil Hair Salon) and Sam had on a blue tanktop that showed a peek of her own midriff and brown slacks.
"Totally," Sam commented. "It's not like her to beat us out to Santa Monica for a beach day – I don't see her anywhere."
"Where did Clover get to, after all?" Britney wondered as she sported a blue sundress.
"You got me," Mat replied.
He had board shorts on and one of his white and blue 2004 throwback Motocross shirts, but this one read "Voss 28" on the back in black, which signified 2004 World Supercross champ Heath Voss.
"This totally wasn't in our plans," Blaine replied.
He had board shorts and his blue tanktop on as well.
"I know," Nick chastised.
"Hey, dude, it's not a total loss," Mat pointed out as he had a couple of bags of popcorn and gave one to Nick himself.
He and Sam split one while Nick and Alex split the other; Britney got in on Mat's popcorn while Blaine got some of Nick and Alex's bag of popcorn.
"Keepin' it light," Alex laughed.
"Hopefully we can find Clover sooner or later," Britney remarked.
"You'd think she'd be first to find a spot to work on her tan," Mat chuckled.
"Uh-huh," Nick groaned. "That's always like her, it seems."
Everybody kept looking around until Alex was the first to find Clover at a particular booth in her pink bikini.
"Clover?!" Alex remarked, surprised.
"Did I surprise you, hopefully?" Clover giggled.
"I think you did, and I'm psychic, so it's harder to surprise me," Nick quipped. "Why exactly are you in a dunk tank, of all things?"
"Dunno, it just looked like fun," Clover admitted. "I haven't seen one of these things since I was young, so I figured 'eh, what the heck'."
Clover then eyed her friends with a slightly mischievous grin. "Sooooo... do any of you wanna try and dunk me?" Clover giggled.
The spies all looked at each other, apparently deciding on whether or not to go for it.
Suddenly, a ball flew in from far off, striking the target on the dunk tank and sending Clover careening into the tank of water with a loud noise of surprise (she most certainly did not "EEP" or squeak).
Naturally, the spies were perplexed as to who had thrown that ball, until they turned around and noticed May standing over there, wearing an orange tank-top embroidered with the symbol of a dolphin curling around an anchor, jean shorts, and a smaller version of her trademark orange pirate cap. The spies also noticed a bunch of other people around her age right behind her.
"Still got the ol' throwing arm," May laughed, until she noticed exactly who she'd just dunked. "Holy crapbaskets, Clover! I didn't know that was you in there!"
"Dang, May, you've got quite the arm," Nick laughed. "Clover definitely didn't see it coming."
"Say, who are all of your friends here?" Britney asked. "I'd assume they're your friends."
"Welp, you nailed it," May giggled as she stepped aside to introduce her friends. "Everyone, say hello to the Jellyfish Pirates."
The first girl had short, curly dark hair with a few green streaks and blue eyes. "This is Mira, first mate."
"Hi," Mira stated.
The second girl had brown hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a sailor uniform with a blue bandana. "This is April, the co-founder of our little circle."
"Nice to meet you guys," April replied.
The third girl had long, lustrous black hair and violet eyes. "This is Yuki, our craftmaker. She designed the shirt I'm wearing with our logo, for one."
"I have lots of cool stuff to show off," Yuki giggled.
The first boy had short dyed-silver hair and gray eyes. "This is Souji, our navigator."
"Considering May had a bad sense of direction as a kid," Souji chuckled.
"MOVING ON," May sputtered, gesturing to the second boy, who had slightly unkempt black hair and silver eyes. "And this is Akira, our lookout."
"When I'm on the case, nothing gets past my sight," Akira proclaimed.
"Kinda wish Johnny was here right now," April quipped.
"Oh, you know we couldn't pull him away from his girlfriend, could we?" Mira laughed. "Those two are a pair."
"Yeah, but a pair of what?" May giggled. "So, how about I introduce you guys to me and Nick's new friends?"
May ran through who everyone was, including Sam, Clover, and Alex all having boyfriends.
"Lucky you," April told the main spy trio.
In the meantime, Clover was put back on the dunk tank stool.
"Okay, now the proverbial million-dollar question is... Clover, how'd you get the gig?" Alex wondered.
The owner of the tent stepped out to tell Alex that he was the reason.
"If you got a friend you wanna dunk, he or she gets up to 10-20 minutes up there," he told Alex.
"Sounds like a good deal," Nick commented. "This is a total throwback, if I do say so myself..."
"No kidding," Alex giggled. "You never know when your past might jump up behind you and stab ya in the back, huh?"
"...you got that from Stargirl Shannon, didn't you?" Nick teased.
"I-It's a fun show!" Alex sputtered.
Sam, Mat, and Britney looked among each other. Sam looked a little mischievous on the matter since Clover was known to give them a headache or two – especially to Sam.
Simultaneously, Akira took a shot at Clover, and Akira got a direct hit herself.
"Are you thinking of trying out, Alex?" Britney asked as Souji took a throw at hitting the target to dunk Clover again.
"I admit, it looks like fun," Alex giggled as she snuck out her X-Powder.
Blaine even got in line to try to get Clover good for some fun of his own.
"I even heard a couple of cat-calls from some other boys, too," Clover told them.
"That tends to happen a lot around here," Sam admitted.
"As long as there are no grabby hands, I'm good," Britney quipped.
When Blaine got his turn, it only took him two times to hit the target and send Clover down into the water.
Nick and Mat were slightly amused that Blaine got this kind of opportunity.
"Talk about a rare opportunity," Mat commented.
The Jellyfish Pirates were also applauding at Blaine successfully dunking Clover.
"So, are you thinking of trying it, too, Sam?" Mat wondered.
"Maybe," Sam admitted. "It does bring back a certain old-school vibe."
"Hey, you mentioned something about grabby hands," Yuki stated. "No one's actually done anything like that to you all, have they?"
"Thankfully, no," Alex replied. "I'm sure our boyfriends would take 'action' against any pervs that tried that."
"Johnny actually did that once," May quipped. "Some jerk tried to get a little too grabby with his girlfriend, and Johnny actually judo-flipped the guy into the fountain!"
"Well-deserved, honestly," Souji chuckled.
"Honestly, if Johnny hadn't judo'ed the guy, I would've," May stated. "No one pervs on the Jellyfish Pirates and gets away with it!"
During this lively conversation, Alex had decided to give the dunk tank a try, giving Clover a well-deserved break from the dunking.
"Well, Nick, you wanna give it a shot?" Alex giggled.
Nick grabbed a ball from nearby and took a step back, making sure that he gave himself the best chance of actually hitting the target, as he wasn't exactly the best thrower normally (as he tended to use his psychic powers to do most of the throwing on missions).
After a couple of seconds, Nick wound up and tossed the ball towards the target. Though it looked like it was about to just barely miss, the ball did strike true and send Alex collapsing into the water.
"Nice one, Nick!" April exclaimed.
"I almost missed, too," Nick quipped. "Thank goodness for just-enough throws, huh?"
"Okay, then, who's next?" Clover laughed.
As Alex clambered her way out of the dunk tank so that Sam could take her place, she moved to hug Nick.
"It's a gorgeous day, isn't it?" Alex quipped.
"Not half as gorgeous as you," Nick replied.
"Oh, you," Alex giggled, only to then suddenly squeak in surprise.
Nick glanced to her right, where he noticed a jeering guy giving Alex a look that Nick wasn't too fond of.
"Hey, baby, how about you ditch the loser and..." the jerk proclaimed.
The jerk didn't even get the chance to finish his sentence before Nick knocked him off of his feet with a leg sweep and then flipped him over and into the water outside the pier.
"Sorry, what was that?" Nick laughed at the jerk. "I couldn't hear you over your water-logged mouth."
"Just like Johnny," May laughed.
"Oh, yeah," April giggled.
Sam sat on the dunk tank stool, and Mat immediately took his turn to dunk her.
"Your lunch is on me if you get her in your first two throws," Nick told Mat.
As it turned out, Mat beamed the target on his first throw and dunked Sam.
"Looks like you owe him lunch then," May giggled at Nick.
"Guess for once, I'm the one eating my own words," Nick laughed.
Mat just chuckled, despite it was theoretically easy.
"I have to admit that seeing Clover up there in her bikini makes me think of back home," Mat replied.
"Well, no surprise," Alex commented. "Especially since you say Hawaii doesn't get snow."
Sam, who was in her red and white tie-on bikini and had a towel around her shoulders, came to Mat.
"I'm not surprised," Sam giggled. "You got a good throw, babe."
She continued with a kiss on Mat's cheek.
The spies looked to see Britney was on the dunk tank stool in her own bikini and more people were taking shots at the target.
"I guess Britney found the dunk tank to be a lot of fun," Clover laughed.
She looked around for Blaine, but he was nowhere in sight.
"Look at her go," Sam laughed as Britney got dunked again by somebody.
The spy friends were having a lot of fun watching Britney get repeatedly dunked.
"I gotta say that seeing numerous people jump in the water from the pier makes me think of home, too," Mat commented, obviously not loud enough for others to hear.
"Maybe lifeguards might," Nick stated.
"Yep," Alex commented. "Of course, regular people aren't allowed to do that."
"So, should we wait for Brit to finish?" Nick wondered.
"It shouldn't be too long," Mat deduced.
"The beach isn't going anywhere," Alex quipped.
They looked to see Clover running back with Blaine in tow.
"That was fun, wasn't it?" Clover giggled.
"Tell me about it," Blaine laughed.
Suddenly, a loud shout of surprise erupted as May found herself getting dunked into the tank, thanks to all of the other Jellyfish Pirates throwing their balls towards the target at once.
"Would it be strange of me to say that I saw that coming?" Nick quipped.
"We finally got ya, May," Akira teased.
"Did you all have to throw at once?!" May sputtered as she surfaced. "In what Twilight Zone parallel world was that really necessary?!"
"Hey, it seemed like fun," Souji laughed.
"Oh, you would say that, Souji!" May exclaimed.
All in all, it was quite the interesting day at the Santa Monica Pier for the spies and their friends, another fun summer day between them.
