Disclaimer: I do not own Moon Knight.
I do not know how DID systems work I am simply extrapolating from how it is portrayed in the show. If something is wrong I am sorry.

It's the little things.

It's waking up and checking in with each other whether by mirror or switching who is fronting.

It's tentative smiles at each other after they've brushed their teeth.

It's making tea for Steven and coffee for Marc, both in smaller amounts than they're used to so that they can actually drink both without being stuffed to death.

It's Marc learning how Steven likes his tea and Steven learning how Marc likes his coffee and making it for each other.

It's steven going to buy another goldfish for the tank because one for me and one for you.

It's Marc choosing vegetarian options when he's fronting because he knows it'll make Steven a little happier. Even if they've both agreed they can eat what they want while they're fronting.

It's letting each other have the radio station that they want.

And alternating turns to pick the movies.

And Marc agreeing to go to a stupidly long lecture Steven's excited about and Steven letting him spend hours at a shooting range.

It's sitting on the floor leaning up against the floor length mirror because it feels like they're sitting shoulder to shoulder then.

It's Steven making Marc unexpectedly bark out a laugh and Marc making Steven sputter when he says something crass and poor Steven is caught between being amused and being scandalized.

It's making sure they have some kind of reflective surface in all their rooms so they can always talk to each other. (Not that that doesn't backfire sometimes because man do they still argue. It's about easier things now though, like: 'you bought the wrong brand of coffee Steven!' Or 'gus 2 doesn't eat that brand of fish food Marc!' Or 'Who the hell puts beans on toast?! Oh I don't know buddy, the whole of bloody england??! Apparently people do put beans on toast. Why??!)

It's laughter that comes out of nowhere, sudden and happy and relieved. And they grin at each other in the mirror, head lolling back and everything seems right in the world.

It's being okay to be afraid because if one can't handle it the other one is there to shore them up, to keep you company until the tears fade, to prompt you to move, to eat, to drink, to breathe.

It's Marc patiently teaching Steven how to actually drive and him finally getting his license. (Marc even gets him a vegan cake when he passes. Steven cries.)

It's Steven learning about the various cuts of steak so that he can actually order what Marc wants if they're ever in a steak restaurant again.

It's all the little things, every day, every month, every year.

It's not being alone.

I hope you enjoyed!!
