"Nate, are you sure it's safe?"

"Yancy, c'mon, I already told you it was! Besides, if anything goes wrong, I'll protect you."

Castelia City. Night. The usually busy streets are now near empty with everyone having either gone home or doing nightly activities.

A young, brown haired man was standing right outside a dark alleyway next to his pink haired companion.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" the girl named Yancy asked, nervous.

"100%"

This young man was Nate, the newest champion of Unova, and the girl with him was Yancy, his girlfriend. To spice up their usual dates, Nate decided to take Yancy to a special location in Castelia City. Problem was, it was located in a dark alleyway and only opened at night. Of course, Yancy was a bit hesitant to explore the dark alleyway.

Nate sighed, "Alright fine. I'll send out some of my Pokémon to guard you. Does that sound okay?"

Yancy thought to herself for a couple of seconds, before nodding her head.

Nate threw out three of his Pokéballs. What emerged were his Emboar, Jellicent, and Krookodile.

"I need you guys to circle around Yancy."

The three of them nodded and did so without complaint. Yancy was now surprised by how suddenly well covered she was, although she was used to having bodyguards due to her day job as an idol.

"Alright, let's get going!" Nate pumped a fist.

The group walked down the alleyway until they came across an orange door, signaled by an orange sign of a coffee cup. On the way, Nate saw the usual two Roughnecks near the dumpster. He paid no mind to them, as they usually didn't bother him, but they briefly glanced at him and his Pokémon guarding Yancy.

Nate, his Pokémon, and Yancy quickly went into the cafe.

"Hey, was that the Champion?" one of the Roughnecks asked.

"Yeah. Seems like he's brought a party with him." the other replied.

"What a busy body. So what were you saying earlier?"

"Oh yeah, so apparently the casteliacones are…"

The trip through the alleyway went by in the quick of an eye for Yancy before she was immediately greeted by the orange lighting of the building she just entered alongside Nate and his Pokémon.

"Good work guys. Return!" Nate said, returning his trusted Pokémon to their Pokéballs.

Getting a better view of the place, Yancy noted that it was a rather small, dimly lit cafe. Right now, there was no one else except for a guitarist and a worker.

"Yo, Bruce!" Nate waved at the worker.

"Champion! What brings you here today?" the worker, Bruce, asked.

"I'm here for dinner and a show for a special guest I brought with me. Could you start us off with some wings and fraps?"

"You got it!"

A show? Yancy thought to herself.

Nate then approached the guitarist.

"Heya, Mark." Nate greeted the man.

"Evening, Nate." Mark greeted back. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"

"I'd like to request a song from you. The special one."

"Oh, that one." Mark smiled. "How interesting. What's the occasion?"

"I wanted to do something nice for my girlfriend." Nate gestured to Yancy, who nervously waved to the man.

"Ah, I see. You've got quite exquisite tastes, my dear boy. But first thing's first, did you bring the Pokémon?"

"I did." Nate gripped one of his Pokéballs.

"Excellent. Let us begin this show then." Mark began tuning his guitar.

Nate walked back to Yancy, "C'mon." He gestured her over to a nearby table.

Mark began playing a soft tune on his guitar. One that seemed so serene and otherworldly. After a few seconds into the song, Nate threw out one of his Pokéballs in front of Mark. Out came a Pokémon Yancy had never seen before. It was a small, green haired Pokémon. It had what looked to be a treble clef attached to its head, acting like a microphone, ones that Yancy always uses when performing on stage.

The floating green Pokémon began dancing to the sound of the song, before eventually singing along and graciously dancing around the cafe. It eventually transformed and adopted a red hairstyle while the lower flaps of its dress raised around its hips, as if it were a ballerina. It's movements were so elegant and captivating, Yancy couldn't look away.

Once the song was over, the Pokémon slowly floated back to the middle of the cafe and took a small bow before returning to its Pokéball.

"That was… beautiful." Yancy muttered.

"That was Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon. It is said that her melodies have the power to control the emotions of those who listen to her." Nate explained "Hilbert gave her to me a week or two ago."

"The Hero of Ideals himself? You met him?" Yancy expressed shock.

Nate nodded, "He said he found her in some region far from Unova. After I had a friendly battle with him, he entrusted her to me and said to look after her best interests." Nate presented the Pokéball to the young woman "I want you to have her, Yancy."

"Me? B-but, the Hero of Ideals gave her to you." Yancy retorted.

"I know he did. And I know what Meloetta wants the most is to be with someone passionate about music and singing. I don't know any other person better for that role than you, Yancy."

Yancy slowly reached over for the Pokéball, "Are… are you sure you want me to have her?"

Nate gently placed his hand on top of her's, clasping it with the Pokéball in his other hand, "I am sure, Yancy. Meloetta deserves to listen to your beautiful voice and stay by your side."

"Nate…"

The two stared at each other, lost in each other's blushed faces.

"Ah, young love…. What a beautiful thing it is." Mark smirked as he tuned his guitar once again.

After a minute or so, the young champion and the young idol shared a deep kiss. A kiss that symbolized their strong love for each other.

Once that was over, Nate turned back to the guitarist, "Thanks again, Mark! To what do I owe this favor?"

"Well, I am quite thirsty." Mark chuckled.

Nate nodded, "Hey Bruce! I need you to make a drink for Mark here! On me!"

"You got it." Bruce replied.

Morning. Nate's house.

"Alright folks, it looks like we're nearing the end of our show!" A TV hostess said "Once again, give a round of applause to our special guest, Nancy!"

The audience applauded as the pink haired idol, Nancy, waved to them.

Nate was currently watching the show from the couch while his Pokémon were either resting or doing something within the house.

"Before we go, I can't help but notice that you've been holding onto a different kind of Pokéball throughout our interview. If possible, could we see what Pokémon is inside?"

"Certainly, Diane." Nancy replied, before releasing the Pokémon from the Pokéball.

The audience was surprised to see the Pokémon: a small, green haired humanoid. One that none of them have ever seen or heard about before.

"Oh my!" Diane exclaimed "That sure is a rare one! What kind of Pokémon is that?"

"This is Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon. It's said that her melodies have the power to control the emotions of those who listen to her." Nancy explained as Meloetta gave a bow to the audience.

"Control emotions you say? How interesting! And who, by chance, gave you that special Pokémon?"

"A very special friend, Diane." Nancy replied with a smile and faint blush.

"Well, I can certainly say that your friend cares about you a lot. You better treasure that Pokémon as if it were worth a million PokéDollars!" Diane and the audience laughed. "Well, there you have it, folks. Nancy's got herself a new super-rare Pokémon by her side. And based on its appearance, it looks like it can sing too! Hopefully it can perform alongside you in the future, Nancy!"

"I sure hope so!" Nancy laughed.

"And that is all the time we have, folks! Give a big round of applause to Nancy once more!"

The crowd erupted in cheers as Nancy and Meloetta happily waved to the audience as the show was coming to a close. Once the show ended, commercials started playing.

Nate turned the TV off and stretched. He was happy that Meloetta took a shine to Yancy. He was sure looking forward to hearing his girlfriend's beautiful voice in tandem with the Melody Pokémon's harmonious voice. He couldn't stop smiling at the thought.

"(Humans sure are weird)." Crobat said to Emboar, who was eating, as they observed Nate from the kitchen.

"(You can say that again. At least that Yancy person treats Nate very well)." Emboar responded in between it's bites.

Elsewhere, at another trainer's house…

"And that is all the time we have, folks! Give a big round of applause to Nancy once more!"

Hilbert turned off the TV.

"Looks like he looked after Meloetta's best interests after all, huh Samurott?" Hilbert said to his Samurott, who was lying next to him on the couch.

Samurott merely nodded.

"(What a strange lad, that Nate is)." Samurott said. "(Giving away such a rare Pokémon like that)…"

"(Oh, but Meloetta looked so happy with that new person)!" Hilbert's nearby Lilligant responded. "(It looks like that Nancy person will help Meloetta continue her singing to spread happiness and joy to everyone in Unova)!"

"(That sounds like an exaggeration… but I can see what you are saying. It does look like Meloetta will be happier with this idol)." Samurott said.

Hilbert merely looked confused at the two, having no idea what they were saying.
