Inside the storage area, Team Rocket were having a celebratory feast, helping themselves to a whole pile of food from the ship's supplies, whilst a weeping Togepi had been locked in a glass case that had been intended for Pikachu.

"Well, we may not have grabbed Pikachu as we intended," said Meowth as he chomped down on some crisps. "But I think we still managed to get a good consolation prize, with time for a midnight snack!"

"Does anybody have any idea where this tub might be headed?" asked James as he helped himself to some grub in a tin.

"Anywhere will do," said Jessie contently. "We'll just hop off at some part and cleverly disappear into a touristy crowd frenzy."

"Great! Sounds like a piece of cake," smirked James.

"Speaking of cake, we might as well take all of this chow-wow while we're at it!" added Meowth.

"Wobbuffet!" said Wobbuffet, as it proceeded to help itself to some of the food pile.

So ecstatic were they at finally capturing any of their enemies' Pokémon, that Team Rocket had quite forgotten how unimpressed their boss, Giovanni, had been the last time they had attempted to present Togepi to him four years or so ago. But even if the head of Team Rocket would again reject Togepi, Jessie, James and Meowth were confident that they could sell the unfortunate Pokémon to some collector on the black market.

"Priiiiiii!" cried Togepi in distress from inside the glass container.

"Oh, poor little Togepi," said Jessie sarcastically. "You're just wasting your breath, you little crybaby!"

"Yeah, that glass case was designed to hold Pikachu, so it should easily hold you!" added James.

"So why don't you be a good little Pokémon and sit back and enjoy this peaceful sea cruise," finished Meowth.

"There's nothing peaceful about it," came the furious voice of Ash Ketchum from behind.

Surprised, Team Rocket looked up from their munching, as they found themselves confronted by Ash, Misty, Pikachu, the Captain and Machoke!

"We should have guessed you were behind all this!" snarled Misty.

"You've got some nerve stealing Misty's Togepi away from her," rebuked the Captain harshly. "Who do you think you are?"

"Prepare for trouble on land, air and sea!" began Jessie.

"And make it double, the trouble's on me!" added James

"To protect the world from devastation."

"To unite all peoples' within our nation."

"To denounce the evils of truth and love."

"To extend our reach to the stars above."

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket rides the waves at the speed of light!"

"Super cool, hanging ten, and preparing to fight!"

"Meowth! That's right!" said Meowth.

"Wobbuffet!" finished Wobbuffet.

"Can the motto!" snapped Misty angrily, barring her fists. "Just give back my Togepi right now!"

"Sorry," said Jessie insincerely, "but this little baby is coming with us!"

"Unless, of course, you're willing to trade something else for it," said James with a devilish smile.

"Like Pikachu for instance!" added Meowth.

"You're not taking either Pokémon," retorted the Captain. "Go, Machoke!"

Machoke leapt forward for battle, as Team Rocket released their own Pokémon, Arbok and Weezing, to commence battle, while Meowth kept hold of the case holding Togepi.

"Pikachu, thunder shock attack!" called out Ash.

Pikachu quickly sent a blast of thunder at Weezing, stunning the poisonous Pokémon and sending it crashing to the floor.

"Arbok, use poison sting!" commanded Jessie, who was concentrating on taking out Machoke.

Arbok fired its poisonous darts at Machoke, but the muscular Pokémon managed to dodge the attack with ease!

"Try an acid attack!" suggested Jessie desperately, as she realised that the tide of battle was turning against Team Rocket.

Arbok fired a glob of acid at Machoke, but the Captain's loyal Pokémon again dodged the attack. However, the acid instead impacted with the ship's large water storage tank, causing a large hole to form in the metal and releasing water that blasted out into the room!

"Arrhh!" squawked Team Rocket in alarm, as the water flooded the chamber and swept everyone out of the room and down the corridors!

Grabbing hold of its Captain with one hand and a handrail with the other, Machoke managed to lift the two of them out of the water and onto a gangplank just above water level.

"Thanks, Machoke," breathed the Captain. "Now we gotta save the ship!"

As the Captain grabbed one of the ferry's help phones and instructed the crew to put out a mayday, the ship quickly pulled into a nearby port for emergency repairs. By this point, the water was now everywhere, and Team Rocket were just barely able to get out onto the dry deck. With Meowth still keeping hold of the case imprisoning Togepi, the crooks ran down the deck in a panic, with Ash, Misty and Pikachu in hot pursuit!

"Come back here, Team Rocket!" yelled Ash.

"Yeah, give us back Togepi!" bellowed Misty.

"Pika Pipi-kachu!" shouted Pikachu.

Trying to keep as much distance as possible from their pursuing enemies, Team Rocket kept running blindly along the deck.

"I'm exhausted!" groaned James. "Don't those twerps ever give up?!"

"Apparently they don't!" said Jessie breathlessly. "So let's think of something!"

"Any ideas?" asked Meowth as they came alongside a dock crane next to the ship.

Spotting the crane, James realised that an opportunity for escape had just presented itself. Pulling out a convenient grapple gun, James fired out a long and thick rope, which managed to hook itself onto the end of the crane.

"Wow, that's impressive," remarked Jessie, impressed by James' accuracy of aim.

"Thank you!" said James smugly. "So shall we?"

Grabbing hold of the line, Team Rocket proceeded to swing off the ship along with the captive Togepi, just as Ash and the others had caught up with them.

"Oh no you don't!" yelled Misty as she, Ash and Pikachu launched themselves off the edge of the ship and managed to grab hold of Wobbuffet by its feet whilst Team Rocket was still in mid-swing!

"Got ya!" cried out Ash, as he and his friends kept a firm hold of Wobbuffet. "Team Rocket, give back Misty's Togepi!"

Realising what had happened, Jessie bellowed at her Wobbuffet, who was busy grasping her own leg. "Wobbuffet, please be a loyal Pokémon! You've got to let go of my leg now!"

But Wobbuffet did not let go. Instead, it swung this way and that, trying frantically to throw off the twerps holding it by its feet. But Ash, Misty and Pikachu kept a firm hold, refusing to give up the chase and let Team Rocket escape.

"Ah, this stunt seemed so much safer in the movies!" gulped James. "Is it too late for me to get a stunt double?!"

As he started to look up at James, Meowth's eyes widened in dismay as he realised that they were all about to hit the side of the crane! Before Meowth could shout a warning, they all crashed into the metal machine, causing them all to let go of the rope and tumble downwards. Ash's fall was broken by some crates below, whilst the others landed on top of the roofs of two lorries, which began driving off side-by-side.

"Pikachu! Misty!" a bruised and dazed Ash called out to his friends, who were trapped on top of one lorry with Togepi, whilst Team Rocket were sprawled out on the other.

"Don't worry, Ash! We'll find a way to get back to you!" called out Misty as the trucks drove further and further away from Ash and the ferry.

"That's what you think, red!" retorted Meowth, as Team Rocket scrambled to their feet.

"Yes, in case you haven't noticed, you're hopelessly outnumbered," added Jessie.

"So hand over your Pokémon now, or you'll regret it!" said James.

It was then that fate once again intervened, as the two lorries reached a junction and turned off in opposite directions from each other!

"Wait, where do you think you're going, you little twerp?" shrieked Jessie as the truck carrying Team Rocket got further and further away from the one carrying Misty, Pikachu and Togepi.

"You turn that truck back right now!" demanded James.

"I couldn't even if I wanted to!" snapped back Misty. "We're not the ones driving in case you haven't noticed!"

As Team Rocket's truck disappeared into the distance, the other one slowed down as it reached a junction and allowed a car to get past. This gave Misty a chance to grab Togepi's glass case and clamber down with Pikachu, landing onto the pavement before the truck drove off again.

"Oh Togepi, I'm so glad you're safe," said Misty in relief as she removed the glass top of the case and Togepi happily jumped safely into Misty's arms.

"Togi Prriii!" said Togepi cheerfully, while an equally relieved Pikachu gave a jubilant smile.

With the immediate danger over, Misty glanced around as she realised that the truck had dropped them off right in the middle of the dockyard.

"Oh great, all these alleys all look the same," Misty sighed to herself as she regarded the various warehouses surrounding them. "Which is the way back to Ash?"

"Pika Pika?" suggested Pikachu as it pointed a finger towards one particular alleyway.

"Worth a try, I guess," said Misty as they began to wander down the shadowy passage, walking past various crates and oil-drums lined against the walls.

"Ohh, this place is creepy," said Misty nervously, hugging Togepi closer to her chest. "I wish Ash was here with us."

Just then, there came a noise from behind them, and as Misty and Pikachu turned around, they found themselves facing a Haunter!
