One day in Wood Oak City, Adam, Axel, and Blaze had just finished up an assignment from the police force and were on their way back to the police station.

"Well, that was an assignment", Blaze said, "what did you guys think of it?"

"It was definitely a weird one", Axel said, "it's not every day you get called to take care of a guy creeping around a high school dressed as a clown."

"Tell me about it", Adam said, "I mean, who does that?"

"I don't know", Blaze said, "but one thing's for sure, I'm glad we're done with it."

"Me too", Axel said, "it's about lunch time."

The three friends entered the station and went into the break room to discuss what they would do for lunch.

"So, what are you guys hungry for", Blaze asked, "should we look in the fridge and see what there is in there?"

"I think there's some potato salad leftover from that banquet a few nights ago", Adam said, "I might have some of that if it's still good."

"No need, you guys", Axel said, "lunch is on me."

The three of them then heard someone knocking on the door.

"And here it is now", Axel said.

Axel opened the break room door, and there, standing in front of it was Electra, who was wearing a baseball cap with the logo for a pizza restaurant called the Pizza Man Club on the front of it and an apron over her leotard, and also holding a pizza box in her hand, as well as a smaller box on top of it.

"Electra", Axel said, "right on time."

"Hey, Axel", Electra said, "I've got your large supreme pizza for you and your friends right here."

"Thank you", Axel said.

"And, of course, your free order of cheesy bread", Electra said.

"Great", Axel said, "I'm so glad I saved up all those points I've earned."

Adam and Blaze then walked over to greet Electra.

"Well, look who it is", Blaze said, "good to see you again, Electra."

"Hello Blaze, Adam", Electra said, "it's good to see you too."

"How's your new job at the Pizza Man Club", Adam asked.

"It's amazing", Electra said, "working as a waitress there is much better than the last time I worked a job like that, and I also get to make deliveries, too."

"Sounds like you've got a pretty sweet deal", Blaze said.

"You can say that again", Electra said.

"I'm glad you were able to find a job", Axel said, "I'm so happy for you, Electra."

"Thanks", Electra said, "that means a lot."

"Well, I guess you're going to be heading back to the restaurant now", Adam asked.

"That's right", Electra said, "don't want to keep my boss waiting."

"Okay", Blaze said, "guess we'll see you later, then."

"You too", Electra said.

Axel took out his wallet and paid Electra for the pizza.

"And here's your tip", Axel said.

He kissed his girlfriend on the cheek, and she waved goodbye as she shut the door behind her.

"I am so loving her new job", Axel said, "now come on, let's eat!"

"Okay", Adam said, "I'll go get us some drinks."

But when he opened up the refrigerator, he saw that there wasn't much in there.

"What are our options", Blaze asked.

"Nothing", Adam said, "except half a bottle of orange juice and a carton of milk that may be expired."

Adam opened the carton and sniffed it, and discovered that it smelled awful.

"Yep", Adam said, "definitely expired."

"What are we going to do for drinks, then", Blaze said.

"I'll go get us some drinks from the vending machine down the hall", Axel said, "do you guys know what you'd like?"

"I'll take a cherry cola, please", Blaze said.

"And I'll take a bottle of root beer", Adam said.

"Okay", Axel said, "coming right up."

Axel exited the break room, and as he got ready to head towards the vending machine, he heard some voices coming from the other direction.

"Just leave me alone, okay", one of the voices said.

"No way", the other voice said, "you've got a lot of nerve showing up here, Syndicate scum."

Axel followed the sound of the voices and found Electra being confronted by the police officer who had helped him, Adam, and Blaze take down the Syndicate together for the first time.

"I just came here to deliver a pizza", Electra said.

"Likely story", the police officer said.

"But it's the truth", Electra said, "I got a job at the Pizza Man Club."

"Well that's a surprise", the police officer said, "I didn't know they hired criminals."

"I know I used to be a criminal, but that's in the past", Electra said, "I'm trying to turn over a new leaf."

"I'm not buying it", the police officer said, "once a criminal, always a criminal."

Electra stormed out of the building, angered by the police officer's comments, and Axel watched on, feeling sorry for his girlfriend.

"Poor Electra", Axel said, "it must be hard being stuck with a reputation like hers."

Later that day, Electra was at the Pizza Man Club serving some food to a family.

"Here you go", Electra said, "one large six cheese pizza, a 10-piece order of honey BBQ wings, and a small order of cheesy bread."

"Thank you", a woman at the table said.

As Electra left them to eat their food, she noticed Axel standing by the restaurant's door and went over to see him.

"Hey, Axel", Electra said, "what are you doing here?"

"I'm all done with work for the day, so I thought I'd come by and pay you a visit", Axel said.

"Alright", Electra said, "I guess I could take my break now, and we could hang out for a little bit."

"Great", Axel said.

After letting her boss know that she was taking her break, Electra went with Axel to the break room, and as the two of them snacked on some garlic knots, Axel decided to talk to his girlfriend about what had happened at the station earlier.

"So, Electra", Axel said, "I noticed when you were leaving you had a little scuffle with an officer."

"Oh, you saw that", Electra said.

"Yeah, I did", Axel said, "looks like there are some people who aren't quite over what you did when you were part of the Syndicate."

"I know", Electra said, "I don't get what their problem is."

"Well, to be fair, it is hard for some people to trust someone who's committed a bunch of crimes", Axel said.

"I've been trying to change, but everyone thinks I'm still some Syndicate lackey", Electra said, "even some customers who come in here think that."

"Well, maybe you just need to do something that might change how people think about you", Axel said, "I mean, it's like they say, trust is something that needs to be earned."

"But what could I do", Electra asked.

"I'm sure you'll think of something", Axel said, "if you can prove to me and my friends that you're a changed woman, then I'm sure you can do the same with other people."

"Okay", Electra said, "I'll see if I can come up with anything."

"That's the spirit", Axel said, "well, I'd better head home now."

"Okay", Electra said, "see you later, Axel."

"You too, babe", Axel said.

Axel left the restaurant, and as Electra began getting ready to get back to work, she thought about her boyfriend's advice.

"Something that might change how people think about me", Electra thought.

The next day, Axel arrived at the police station ready for work, and after punching in his timecard, he walked over to where Adam and Blaze were sitting and joined them.

"Morning, guys", Axel said.

"Hey, Axel", Adam said, "you ready to do some police work?"

"I sure am", Axel said, "what have we got today?"

"We don't know yet", Blaze said, "we're waiting for the chief to tell us."

"Okay", Axel said, "guess we'll just wait, then."

Just then, a familiar young woman walked up behind Axel with a cup of coffee in her hands.

"Coffee", the woman asked.

"Sure", Axel said, "thanks, Electra."

Axel took a sip of coffee from the cup, and when he realized who had given it to him, he did a massive spit take out of surprise.

"Electra", Axel asked.

"Hey, Axel", Electra said.

"What are you doing here", Blaze asked.

"I took the day off from the Pizza Man Club to come join you guys at work", Electra said.

"What do you mean by 'join us'", Adam asked.

"I thought maybe I'd help you guys out with your police work", Electra said, "you know, bust criminals and take names."

"I appreciate the thought, but I'm not sure that's such a good idea", Axel said.

"Come on", Electra said, "I'm just trying to do what you told me."

"What did he tell you", Blaze said.

"Yesterday when he came to visit me at work, he told me that if I want people to not think of me as a criminal, I should do something that might change how people think of me", Electra said.

"I was thinking more along the lines of holding a door open or helping someone cross the street", Axel said.

"Sure, those are all good deeds", Electra said, "but what deed could be better than keeping the peace?"

"I guess you've got a point", Axel said, "still, I don't know."

"Please, Axel", Electra said, "this is really important to me."

"Well", Axel said.

Electra made a pleading face that made it hard for Axel to say no to her, and after trying his hardest to resist it, he finally caved in.

"Okay", Axel said, "you can help."

"Really", Electra asked.

"Sure", Axel said, "but first, I need to talk to my boss and see if it's okay with him."

"Alright", Electra said, "you go do that."

Axel got up and went to talk to the police chief, and Electra was left alone with Adam and Blaze.

"So", Electra said, "you guys excited to work with me?"

"Sure", Blaze said, "excited is one way to describe it."

"Awesome", Electra said, "I can't wait to get started."

Some time later, Axel returned with news for Electra.

"So", Electra asked, "how'd it go?"

"I talked to the chief", Axel said, "he says you can help out here just for today."

"Really", Electra said, "thank you, Axel!"

"No problem", Axel said, "now if you'll excuse me, I have some work to do."

Axel walked away, and Electra was feeling more enthusiastic about working with the police force.

"I can't believe I get to help Axel and his friends", Electra thought, "this is my only day here, so I'm going to make it count."

Electra spent the day with Axel and his friends trying to help them with their police work, but it was mostly stuff like paperwork, and after a while, she got bored and sat down at Axel's desk while he went to give some of his paperwork to the chief.

"This isn't at all what I had in mind for helping out here", Electra said, "now I'll never prove I'm not the kind of person people think I am."

She then noticed a manila file folder on the desk that had some papers in it.

"What's this", Electra asked.

Curious, Electra opened the folder to look at the papers inside it, and was surprised by what she had found.

"Well I'll be", Electra said.

They were police cases that had yet to be solved.

"Looks like the guys here are having trouble solving some of these cases", Electra said, "maybe I could try and help them solve one."

Electra began going through the papers to see if there were any cases that seemed like good options for her to help with, but none of them looked very promising, until eventually, she found one that she thought was just right.

"Bingo", Electra said.

Axel, Adam, and Blaze were sitting together in the break room drinking soda and doing a little reading, when Electra walked in.

"Do you guys have a moment", Electra asked, "there's something I'd like to talk to you about."

"Okay", Axel said, "what is it?"

Electra reached into her boot and pulled out the piece of paper that detailed the case she discovered and showed it to them.

"I found this in a file on Axel's desk", Electra said, "look familiar?"

"The Secret Menu Case", Axel asked, "I remember that."

"Me too", Adam said, "there were rumors going around about a bar in town was selling black market items that buyers would order by phone using restaurant items as a code, so the police force was asked to investigate them."

"Why are you showing this to us", Blaze asked.

"Because I was thinking we could investigate the bar a little bit", Electra said, "you know, see if we can find anything that might help us solve this case."

"I don't know", Axel said, "we tried investigating once, but we couldn't find any clues that told us it was really a black market operation."

"And anyway, the case came up because of a rumor", Adam said, "who knows if it's true?"

"But don't you think you should at least try again", Electra asked, "you might find something this time."

"Well, I guess another search couldn't hurt", Axel said, "let's go over to the bar and see what we can find."

"Awesome", Electra said, "let's go!"

Electra went with the three officers to the bar, which was only a few blocks away from the police station, and when they got there, they sat down at some barstools.

"I don't see anything out of the ordinary", Axel said, "how about you guys?"

"Nope", Adam said.

"Nothing here", Blaze said.

"Keep your eyes open", Electra said, "we're bound to find something."

Just then, the bartender walked over to the group.

"Can I get you fellas anything", the bartender asked.

The group looked and saw that the bartender was none other than Barbon, a member of the Syndicate who Axel and Blaze encountered when they, along with their friends Max and Skate, fought against the Syndicate for the second time, and Electra was especially surprised to see him there.

"Barbon", Electra asked, "is that you?"

"Electra", Barbon asked, "well aren't you a sight for sore eyes."

"What are you doing here", Electra asked.

"I'm running this bar, of course", Barbon said, "what about you, what have you been up to?"

"I've been working at the Pizza Man Club as a waitress and occasional delivery driver", Electra said, "I really enjoy it there."

"I see", Barbon said, "and it looks like you've also fallen in with these guys over here."

"Oh, that's right", Electra said, "I'm sure you remember Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding, don't you?"

"I sure do", Barbon said, "and that's Adam Hunter, right?"

"Yes", Adam said, "I'm the one Mr. X kidnapped as revenge for his first defeat."

"I remember", Barbon said, "no hard feelings, right?"

Adam just rolled his eyes.

"So, can I get you guys anything", Barbon asked.

"Well, I guess a little snack wouldn't hurt", Axel said, "we'll take an order of the ultimate nachos, please."

"Alright", Barbon said, "I'll have that right out for you in a..."

Before Barbon could finish, the bar telephone rang.

"Hold that thought", Barbon said.

He walked over to the phone and answered it.

"Barbon's Bar, Barbon speaking", Barbon said, "how may I direct your call?"

Barbon listened to the caller speak, and Electra watched on with suspicion.

"Okay, so you want a rack of ribs with some fried jalapeño poppers", Barbon said, "let me write all that down."

Barbon wrote the order down on a piece of paper.

"We'll have it ready for pickup soon", Barbon said, "just come to the pickup area behind the bar, and we'll be waiting for you."

Barbon hung up the phone and turned to Electra and the others.

"Now, where was I", Barbon asked, "oh, that's right, I'll be out with your nachos in a few minutes."

Barbon went in the kitchen to fix the group's order of nachos, and Electra decided to voice her suspicions about the bartender.

"Guys", Electra said, "am I the only one who thinks that was a suspicious phone call?"

"What's so suspicious about it", Blaze asked, "it was just someone ordering some ribs and jalapeño poppers."

"Yeah, but according to the case, people who were trying to buy black market items requested them in a code that sounded like food orders", Electra said, "and let's not forget that Barbon asked the caller to pick up his order behind the bar."

"I guess that does sound a little strange", Adam said, "but it's not enough for us to go off of."

"Adam's right", Axel said, "I know you're trying to help us, Electra, but we don't have enough evidence to prove that there really is something strange going on here."

"But there is", Electra said, "I just know it."

Electra's protests were interrupted by Barbon arriving with the plate of nachos Axel ordered.

"Here you go", Barbon said.

He set the nachos down on the bar and then said something to Electra.

"You know Electra, if you wanted to quit your Pizza Man Club job and come work for me, you're more than welcome to", Barbon said, "I'd be happy to have you with me again."

"No thank you", Electra said, "I like my new job very much."

"Okay, suit yourself", Barbon said, "I just thought it would be nice to have an old friend helping me out with my special business."

Barbon walked away, leaving the four friends alone to eat their nachos, and as Electra took a bite out of one, she watched Barbon unlock a door that had an "Authorized Personnel" sign on it and walk through it, shutting and locking the door behind him, and she was now more suspicious and determined to figure out what was going on than ever.

"There is something strange going on here", Electra said, "I'm sure of it."

Soon, the group finished eating their nachos and were getting ready to go back to the police station, but Electra still wanted to find evidence that there were black market dealings going on at the bar.

"There has to be another way to find some proof around here", Electra said, "but how?"

She then noticed a man wearing a trench coat and fedora walking into the alley that was next to the bar.

"Where's he going", Electra thought.

Curious about what the man was up to, Electra followed him as stealthily as possible, and soon found that they were behind the bar.

"Something tells me that's the guy who made that order over the phone", Electra said.

Then, Barbon exited the door pushing a cart that had a large crate on it.

"Good, you made it", Barbon said, "you weren't followed here, were you?"

"No, I don't think so", the man said, "do you have my 'rack of ribs?'"

"I sure do", Barbon said.

Electra watched Barbon open the crate from behind a dumpster and saw him pull an assault rifle out of it.

"Here you go", Barbon said, "one assault rifle ready to be used."

"Thanks", the man said, "and what about my 'jalapeño poppers?'"

"I got your ammo right here", Barbon said.

He reached into the crate and presented a set of intermediate cartridges to the man.

"Now that you have your goods", Barbon said, "I'm going to have to ask you to pay for them."

"Not a problem", the man said, "I've got your payment right here."

He handed Barbon a bag, and inside is was stacks of hundred dollar bills, much to the bartender's delight.

"It's been a pleasure doing business with you, sir", Barbon said.

The two of them shook hands while Electra watched, having seen everything.

"I knew it", Electra said, "there is a black market ring going on here."

She hurried out of the alley before anyone could catch her, then began walking back towards the police station.

"I've got to tell Axel and the others what's going on so we can put an end to it", Electra said.

She then stopped in her tracks upon realizing something.

"But they don't think there's anything strange going on there", Electra said, "and I didn't take any photos or videos to show them because I left my phone at the station."

She looked back over towards the bar.

"But I can't let Barbon get away with what he's doing", Electra said, "I need to do something to stop him."

She looked up ahead and saw Adam, Axel, and Blaze waiting at a crosswalk to cross the street.

"I guess I've got no choice", Electra said.

She walked towards the trio of cops and took a deep breath to prepare herself.

"Here goes nothing", Electra said.

That night, Barbon was in the bar cleaning up when someone walked inside.

"What are you doing in here", Barbon asked, "can't you see we're closed?"

The person walked closer to Barbon, and he saw that it was none other than Electra.

"Oh, it's you", Barbon said, "hello again."

"Hey, Barbon", Electra said, "I wanted to talk to you about something."

"Alright, then", Barbon said, "what did you want to say."

"I accept your offer", Electra said.

"What offer", Barbon asked.

"To work with you in your special business", Electra said, "I did some thinking, and I decided that maybe it would be nice to work with you again for old time's sake."

"I see", Barbon said, "well, I'm going to need you to do something for me just so I can be sure that I can trust you."

"Not a problem", Electra said, "how's this?"

Electra exited the bar and came back inside dragging Blaze, who was all tied up with a gag around her mouth, much to Barbon's delight.

"Well look at that", Barbon said, "you managed to take out one of those cops."

"It wasn't that hard", Electra said, "I was able to get her when she least expected it."

"That's enough for me", Barbon said, "you're in."

"Great", Electra said, "so, where do I start?"

"Right this way", Barbon said.

He unlocked the "Authorized Personnel" door Electra had watched him go into earlier and went inside it, and Electra followed him in while she continued to drag Blaze behind her.

"This is it", Electra thought, "we're getting closer."

Electra followed Barbon down some stairs that led to the basement while carrying Blaze in her arms, and when they got down there, Barbon turned on the lights, and Electra reacted in surprise to what was down there.

"Welcome to the base of operations for my business", Barbon said.

The basement had stuff in it like weapons, illegal drugs, exotic animals, and even human organs.

"I don't know if you can tell or not, but the real business here is black market dealing", Barbon said, "my bar is just a cover for the operation."

"So I see", Electra said.

Blaze looked around at the contents of the room and managed to pull a device out of her pocket and press a button on it.

"How long have you been running this operation", Electra asked.

"Months", Barbon said, "there's a lot of money in selling stuff like this."

"I see", Electra said, "aren't you worried that you might get caught by the police?"

"Not at all", Barbon said, "people think this is all some big conspiracy theory made up by someone on the internet."

"Okay", Electra said.

At that moment, Jack, a knife-wielding thug who was a member of the Syndicate, walked into the room carrying something covered by a sheet.

"Hey, boss", Jack said, "just got through picking this up from the docks."

"Great", Barbon said, "let's have a look at it."

Jack took the sheet off the item, and it was revealed to be a cage that contained a Burmese python.

"Good work, Jack", Barbon said, "this snake'll sell for thousands."

Electra looked at the snake with a disgusted look on her face.

"That's so inhumane", Electra thought.

Then, the sound of a buzzer went off.

"What was that", Electra asked.

"That means someone's here to pick up something they ordered", Barbon said, "must be the guy who ordered a 'fresh made pickle.'"

"I'll go get it", Jack said.

Jack walked away and came back holding a kidney in a jar, which Electra found to be disgusting.

"Kidneys are among the most in-demand items on the black market, not to mention the most valuable", Barbon said, "and someone called earlier offering a large sum of money for this one."

"What does he need a kidney for", Electra asked.

"Probably a transplant surgery, or something like that", Barbon said, "but what's important is that he pays for it."

Barbon took the jar from Jack and walked away.

"Come on, Electra", Barbon said, "why don't you help me make this sale?"

"I'd be happy to", Electra said.

"What about Officer Fielding", Jack asked, "what do we do with her?"

"Just leave her the way she is", Barbon said, "we'll take care of her later."

"Okay, then", Jack said.

Barbon and Electra walked away, and Jack was left with Blaze.

"Well", Jack said, "looks like it's just you and me, Baby."

Then, to his surprise, Blaze cut herself free from her ropes and removed the gag from her mouth.

"Sounds good to me", Blaze said.

Blaze cracked her knuckles, and Jack began to feel afraid.

"Uh oh", Jack said.

Back with Barbon and Electra, the two of them went outside and found a man waiting for them who was wearing a trench coat and fedora like the man Electra saw earlier, as well as a pair of sunglasses, and he also had a beard.

"Hello there", Barbon said, "you must be here to pick up your 'fresh made pickle.'"

"That's right", the man said, "is that it right there?"

"Yes it is", Barbon said, "one kidney."

Electra presented the kidney to the man, and a grin appeared on his face.

"Do you have your payment ready", Barbon asked.

"Sure do", the man said, "I got my payment right here."

He punched Barbon right in the face, causing him to fall onto the ground, then removed his coat, hat, sunglasses, and beard (which was fake), revealing himself to be Axel.

"I got the signal Blaze sent out and rushed over here as quick as I could", Axel said, "good work, Electra."

"I'm just glad you and the others agreed to go along with my plan to catch Barbon", Electra said.

Barbon stood back up and looked at the couple angrily.

"So", Barbon said, "this was all a trick to rat me out to the cops, was it?"

"That's right", Electra said, "your black market dealing days are over, Barbon."

"You're coming with us", Axel said.

"I don't think so", Barbon said, "Jack, come out here and give me a hand!"

The door opened up behind them, and Jack fell down to the ground beaten-up and unconscious, courtesy of Blaze.

"You made a bad choice for a henchman, Barbon", Blaze said, "this guy was too easy."

Barbon could see that he was outmatched, so he decided that there was only one thing for him to do.

"You'll never take me alive", Barbon said.

He ran away to try and escape the trio, but at the end of the alley, he found Adam waiting for him with a bunch of other police officers.

"Going somewhere", Adam asked.

Barbon turned around and saw Electra walking towards him with Axel and Blaze accompanying her.

"The jig's up, Barbon", Electra said.

She then kicked him right in the crotch, which caused him a great amount of pain that was intensified because of her high heel boots, and also made him fall to the ground while holding that area in pain.

"Nice kick, Electra", Axel said.

"My pleasure", Electra said.

Barbon and Jack were both arrested and taken into custody, and Axel and his friends had some words for Electra.

"You did it, Electra", Adam said, "you cracked the Secret Menu Case."

"It was nothing", Electra said.

"We're just sorry we didn't consider the possibility of it being true as much as you did", Blaze said.

"It's alright, you guys", Electra said, "what matters now is that we took down Barbon together."

"That's right", Axel said, "and we couldn't have done it without you."

"Thanks, Axel", Electra said, "that means a lot."

The next day at the Pizza Man Club, Electra was serving some food to a couple of men.

"Here you go", Electra said, "one order of chicken alfredo pasta and one medium buffalo chicken pizza."

"Say, I know you", the first man said, "you're the girl who busted that black market operation at that bar, aren't you?"

"That's right", Electra said, "how'd you know?"

"We read all about it in the newspaper", the second man said.

He then showed Electra a newspaper that had her picture on the front page with the headline "Former Syndicate Gal Busts Black Market Bar Dealings."

"Wow", Electra thought, "this is amazing."

"Nice work", the first man said, "you really did us a favor there."

"Yeah", the second man said, "we were worried sick when we heard the rumors about what was happening there."

"I'm just happy I was able to help", Electra said.

She walked away to see if anyone else in the restaurant needed a waitress, and then noticed Adam, Axel, and Blaze sitting at a table and walked over to them.

"Guys", Electra said, "what are you doing here?"

"We thought maybe we'd come and eat here today for our lunch hour", Axel said, "would that be alright?"

"Sure", Electra said, "what can I get you?"

"I'll have a buffalo chicken sub with a root beer, please", Adam said.

"And I'll have an order of the Italian sausage marinara pasta with cherry cola", Blaze said.

"I'll take a 10-piece order of wings with hot buffalo sauce with lemon lime soda, please", Axel said.

"Alright, I'll have that out for you in a jiffy", Electra said.

Electra turned around to go to the kitchen, and Axel decided to say something to her.

"Hey, Electra", Axel said.

"Yes, Axel", Electra asked.

"Thanks again for what you did last night", Axel said, "you really helped everyone out at the police force."

"Yeah", Blaze said, "they're glad you helped get to the bottom of those black market rumors."

"It was the least I could do", Electra said.

Electra walked to the kitchen and gave her friends' order to the chef so he could prepare it, and as she got their drinks ready, she thought to herself how good things were after what she had done.

"It's nice that some people are starting to think of me differently", Electra said, "but at the end of the day, I'm just happy that I was able to do something good for the city."
