Hey Everyone, it's NightOwl. I'm really sorry if you read the original version of this Story. I know it was pretty bad, I was an angsty and honestly depressed 15-year old who'd just moved thousands of miles away from the place I grew up in and from my family. I'm almost done with high school now and I found this fanfic I haven't looked at in almost a year and decided to re-write it with the new knowledge I've gotten over the last two and a half years. I've become a drastically different person who got past the depression and made some real friends and hopefully, my writing can reflect that. The main plot is still going to be the same however I'm gonna extend it a bit and make it more than just angst-ridden writing. As usual, feedback is always appreciated and I hope you enjoy my new version of Detroit: Cyber.

"More android disappearances continue to plague the industrial district as the DPD is under even more pressure to find the culprit. A warning has been issued to Androids and Humans alike to be cautious when walking the Industrial District."

Captain Fowler shut the TV off and turned back to Lt. Anderson. He adjusted himself in his seat, "As all cases involving androids are sent to you two, I'm also assigning you to this case. This is a top priority case so I can't tolerate slacking."

Lt. Anderson nodded, "Come on Connor, let's head out, see what we find."

Connor followed Lt. Anderson out the door to the desks and took a seat at the desk across Lt. Anderson's. He turned the computer on and began scanning the files on the missing androids, turning to Lt. Anderson who's chewing on one of the stale donuts invading the space on his desk.

"Lieutenant?"

"What's up?"

"This last disappearance, it was in the same area as that female android with the human girl from last year correct?"

"Yeah, I think it's the same general area, why?"

"I recall talking with an android with a scar on its face that lived in an abandoned house there, Ralph. We should see if he's still there. If he is, maybe he saw something."

"It's a decent start, there's no apparent connection so maybe that android at the house can tell us something."

Connor stood up and grabbed his badge, admiring the newly engraved "Det. Anderson" engraved in the brass and attached it to his belt.

Walking across the main lobby, a tall figure shoves past Connor.

"Watch it Plastic!"

Turning towards Reed, Connor frowned,

"Good Morning to you as well Lieutenant."

"Connor!"

He turned back around and walked to where Lt. Anderson was waiting by the door to the garage.

As they approached the area of the abandoned house, Connor looked around, no sign of the android outside.

Anderson peered down the far end of the house, calling back towards Connor, "I'll look out here, you head on inside and see if you can find him."

Connor nodded, reaching towards the front door, "Yes sir."

Connor placed his hand on the center of the door, pushing it open. No door handle, just like last time.

"Ralph?! Are you in here?"

He heard shuffling upstairs and made his way towards the staircase,

"It's Connor! We spoke last year? I was looking for that android that had the girl with her."

As he reached the top of the stairs, Connor looked down the hall. "I'm not going to hurt you, I just need to ask you a few questions."

The corner of a ripped-up blanket fell past the door frame before Ralph poked his head out, blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

"You promise not to take Ralph anywhere?"

Connor placed his hands up in a placating gesture, "Nothing's going to happen to you, I just need to ask if you saw an android get taken the other day down the street?"

"No Android, a little girl, yes. No one seemed to hear her but Ralph."

"And before the girl? Did you see any androids get taken around here in the last few weeks?"

Ralph shook his head, "Um… a friend… lived in an alley down the street. He stopped coming by for lunch a little while ago... Ralph hasn't seen him since."

"Do you know his name? Or his model?"

"No, Ralph only knew him as 'friend.'"

Connor nodded, taking the silence as a cue to continue, "What did he look like? Tell me every detail you can remember."

"Tall, big, he still had a blue uniform, maybe electricity? Water? Ralph doesn't know. He had a damaged hand."

"About the girl Ralph, what did she look like?"

Ralph placed his index finger on his chin as if thinking "Um… She looked like Alice, small, brown hair, but she was human."

Connor didn't recognize the name, "Alice?"

"The girl with Kara last year."

The realization dawned on him as he remembers the little girl traveling with Kara, "Oh, What was she wearing? Can you tell me what her kidnapper looked like?"

Ralph pulled a jacket from under his blanket, "She left behind this. Ralph couldn't see anything, only heard her and went to look after they were gone"

He threw the ripped-up jacket down the hall at Connor.

"Ok, thank you, Ralph."

He nodded and disappeared back into the room he had peaked out from.

Connor headed downstairs, "Lieutenant!"

"Yeah what's up?"

Connor followed the voice back to the front door, gesturing to the jacket once Lt. Anderson was in view, "I found Ralph inside, he told me about a human girl that disappeared around here in the last few days and about an android that disappeared. Judging by the jacket, she may have been homeless or run away from home. We should check with Lt. Reed, I understand he's been assigned to child disappearances."

As Connor tried to hand Lt. Anderson the jacket, the man raised his hands in refusal, "You hold onto it, if I touch it my fingerprints would mess with analysis."

Connor nodded and turned towards the car.

Back at the precinct, Connor headed to Lt. Reed's desk.

"Lieutenant Reed, are you busy?"

Reed glanced over from his computer screen before turning back with a scowl, "No I'm sitting here watching football, the hell do you want?"

"I need to ask you about a girl that disappeared in the industrial district in the last few days. She's small, has brown hair, and was wearing this jacket," Connor stated as he handed Reed the jacket.

Reed took the jacket after putting a pair of gloves on, eyeing it, "I thought you handled Android cases, what do you want with a human girl?"

"I was asking a witness about the android disappearances and he brought up the girl. Lt. Anderson and I figured we should tell you since you handle child disappearances."

He nodded, folding the jacket and placing the jacket down next to his keyboard, "All right… I'll get the jacket sent over for analysis, but I haven't gotten anything about a girl disappearing there in the last few days."

"Ok, let me know if you find anything, please."

Reed looked up from the jacket, "Why do you care?"

Connor shrugged, "Caring is new for me and I'd like to care about everything I can. You could always care, Lieutenant, and it's easy to take for granted what you've always had, whether it be safety, freedom or capability of emotion."

Reed's face expressed a series of emotions Connor couldn't quite pinpoint, then he turned back to his work.
