There Is Always Room To Learn More
Rachel caught Crystal as the young girl did a backflip after getting pushed back by the training robot and the two girls brought their powers together, Rachel with her fire and tech element and Crystal with her life element. Once the robots were taken care of, Spell Punks entered the ring. Too many to count.
"We could use a hand here," Rachel said.
"Coming up!" Elliott called out as he landed in the ring beside him, hitting a few Spell Punks with his weapon.
"Hope we're not too late to help out," Drew, the quadruple-element Portal Master, said.
"Just in time," Crystal said as a singing voice reached them and Kairi landed beside them.
"Let's crash this party," the Water Element Portal Master said.
The five jumped in, slamming into the Spell Punks with all they had. Rachel then noticed something. "I don't think these Spell Punks are part of the training arena," she said. "Look."
Sure enough, more Spell Punks were coming and were messing with the course. "Split up and take them down!" Elliott said.
Drew make the floor shake while Rachel quickly made the others float with her telekinesis, which allowed Kairi to throw water orbs and Elliott to throw out ink attacks and Crystal to call up vines. Rachel then set some small gears on fire and threw them out fast and furious, knocking down several Spell Punks. "Do it altogether!" Crystal said suddenly.
"Combine!" Kairi called out.
"Let's do it!" Drew said.
"Rach?" Elliott asked.
She nodded. "Power combo!" She cried out.
The other four focused their powers into the telekinetic orb Rachel created and waited for the right moment before the blonde-haired girl threw the powerful orb down towards the arena floor. The orb exploded with a loud boom and Rachel shielded her friends and little sister in a large telekinetic bubble as the Spell Punks were defeated and the arena was quiet once again.
The five carefully landed and Master Eon came out, looking relieved. "I'm so glad you five are alright," he said.
"What happened, Master Eon?" Elliott asked.
"Apparently, Kaos hoped that his spell to call up many Spell Punks would keep you five busy while he tried to steal the same artifacts you all collected to stop the evil sister of the Darkness," the guardian of Skylands said.
"He didn't succeed, did he?" Rachel asked.
"Thankfully, he was stopped by Echo, Grave Clobber, and Chill."
The three came in and smiled satisfyingly. "Don't worry, Kaos is cooling his heels back at his castle," Chill said.
"Now we can get back to what we were doing," Grave Clobber said. "Golden Queen and I were having lunch when the alarm came up."
Elliott smiled. "Go ahead, Clobber," he said before looking at Echo. "Echo and I have a few plans of our own."
Echo giggled and went up to him. "Hello, my handsome knight," she said.
Crystal giggled and Rachel picked up her little sister before looking at Drew and Kairi. "Come on," she said with a smile.
They exited the arena and Drew went to go find Knightmare to train more with her while Kairi went to go find her Giant Skylander partner, who was also her lover. Crystal waved to Persephone, who waved back as Rachel went into the Academy, spying Hood Sickle and Camo inside.
"Camo!" Crystal said, feeling Rachel set her down and the little girl ran towards her dragon buddy.
"Hey, Crystal," Camo said, catching her as she glomped him and he nuzzled his head against her head, making her giggle.
Rachel went up to Hood Sickle, who smiled and held his arms open to welcome her in a hug. "We heard about what happened," he said. "Are you alright?"
"We're fine, Hood," the young woman said. "Gonna take a lot more than a few Spell Punks to knock us down."
He chuckled and Spellslamzer came in. "I'm not sure Kaos' ultimate plan was to go after the artifacts," he said.
"What makes you say that, Spellslamzer?" Camo asked.
"Because he ran away quickly when Chill, Grave Clobber, and Echo arrived," the tall Spell Punk said.
"You think his ploy might have been a distraction, Spells?" Rachel asked.
"Possibly," Spellslamzer said. "Or...he was after Arkeyan armor."
"Arkeyan armor?" Crystal asked. "But...there's none of that here."
"I'm afraid there is, Crystal," Hood Sickle said. "When the Giants went up against Kaos when he had the Arkeyan Armor and he was defeated, the armor was brought here and hidden away. The City of Arkus is the only other place to get such armor, but Kaos can't enter there. There's a spell around the place that doesn't allow the Darkness to enter that place, thanks to our Dark Giant. The spell works to prevent Kaos from accessing it too."
"Would he be able to get past it if he was shielded by the Arkeyan armor that is here?" Rachel asked.
"Most likely," Spellslamzer said.
"But...why would he be going there?" Camo asked.
"Whatever it is, it's something that isn't good," Hood Sickle said.
"Maybe there's something there?" Crystal said.
Rachel grew thoughtful. "I'll talk to Master Eon," she said. "If Spellslamzer's hunch is right, then we didn't foil Kaos' plan. We simply pushed it back."
With that, she turned and headed for Master Eon's office, hoping he might have had something, her mind going a mile a minute. "What could Kaos be after?" She asked herself. "The Mabu haven't reported any new findings and Lightning Rod and Flameslinger said all was well on their last patrol there." She paused. "Unless...there's something that is hidden and Kaos has somehow found it."
She knew how sneaky Kaos could be at finding things, as he had proven that in the past, which was why she didn't want to take any chances. Going up to Master Eon's office door, she knocked politely.
"AAAAAHHHHH!" A cry sounded from inside, startling the Tech/Fire Portal Master before the door opened a moment later to reveal Hugo and he looked worried. "Oh, Tech/Fire Portal Master. Thank goodness," he said.
She entered the room as he stepped back and she noted the mess of papers and books. "Hugo, are you alright?" She asked, snapping her fingers to use her telekinesis to pick up the papers and books, setting the books neatly on a nearby table and handing the papers to Hugo, who took them and quickly shuffled them back into order.
"Yes and no," he said. "Master Eon says he sensed something in the City of Arkus."
Rachel blinked. "That's funny. Spellslamzer mentioned Kaos might have been after the Arkeyan armor that is stored here," she said. "He sensed Kaos' plan this time was just a ploy."
"I'm afraid Spellslamzer is correct," Master Eon said gravely. "Rachel, gather the others. I have some news."
Hmm. What was Kaos' intent? And what news does Master Eon have? Stay tuned to find out. :)
