Una felt something akin to rage ignite inside of her when Chris told her what happened on Majalis. She knew the second she saw Alora that something wasn't right. She had this gut instinct not to trust her and she was correct. She should have voiced her opinion, but she knew better than to interrupt him.

Now here she was, about to pick up the pieces of a man who had just seen a child put to a slow and painful death.

Walking down the length of the corridor, Una held her head high and stopped in front of Chris's quarters. She knew he was inside. She also knew that he was blaming himself for something that was out of his control. Forgoing pressing the chime, she decided to knock on the door instead.

"Chris, it's Una." Hearing a faint 'go away', she rolled her eyes and let herself in.

Chris was lying in bed, dressed only in a pair of pyjama pants.

"You need to get up, get dressed, and show up on the bridge. You are the captain."

"And as captain, I felt like I helped sentence that poor kid to death." Sitting up, Chris looked at Una, his hair dishevelled, looking as if he had gotten no sleep.

"I'm going to be frank with you. You were used, by Alora, in more ways than one. She played you like a fiddle, and you allowed her to do so. You made the biggest puppy eyes at her I've ever seen. You got so lost in her, you literally forgot my name and who I was. I thought we were more than that, but the second a pretty woman from your past shows up, I'm nothing to you." Feeling the frustration get to her, Una let out a shaky breath. "You need to get your priorities in order."

"I can't believe I trusted her." Shaking his head, he ran his fingers through his hair, ignoring the guilt that started to bubble up inside of him.

"You had no idea about what was happening, it's not your fault." Offering him a sympathetic smile, Una sat down next to him on the bed and placed a hand on top of his and gave it a comforting squeeze.

"It feels like it's my fault. I overlooked the entire situation. I don't deserve you, and yet you're here right now, trying to make me feel better. I'm sorry, Una. I disregarded your feelings, I threw aside what we have, all for someone I had a fling with ten years ago. I didn't mean to make you feel like that."

"Apology accepted, but if you ever pull this shit again, I will be well and truly done." Saying it how it was, Una wanted to get her feelings out in the open. "I don't even know what we are at this point. Sometimes we are really close, intimate, and other times you just pull away. You need to make your mind up about us."

"I want you, Una. I now realise my mistakes. I would really like to give us a proper chance if you want to." Looking hopefully at Una, Chris didn't know what to expect.

Pursing her lips together, Una took a second to put her thoughts in order. "Give me some time to think. Right now, we are both needed on the bridge."

Getting up, Una placed a chaste kiss on Chris's cheek, giving him some hope. Exiting Chris's quarters, Una waited until she was in the turbolift with the doors closed before giving herself a moment to collect her thoughts and feelings. Her heart had its mind made up, but her brain was still battling to be listened to.
