Generation zero fanfic
Ideas.
Main idea should be the emphasis on loneliness, paranoia and hopelessness maybe a scene where the MC actually arrives just in time to see the only living person they've seen since they woke up die possibly because the MC hesitates to go towards the gunshots in the distance because of doubt at first resulting in them being too late to save anyone.
Sketch
Maria woke with a pained gasp for air as she dug her fingers into the gravelly shoreline. Wincing in pain she lifted her head to try and gain her bearings.
Sitting up she placed a scratch covered hand on her ribs as she looked around her seeing she had washed up on shore next to some ferns that were lit under the moon light.
Letting out a gasp that sounded more like a wheeze she scrambled onto her feet looking around frantically for Kris and Albert.
Maria took uneven steps down the shoreline her gaze looking through the ferns and water near her before darting out towards the water to look for the boat that they'd taken out for the weekend.
she could see two blinking lights in the bay next to partially submerged shipping crates, down the shore further inland she can see docks lit up by a parked car.
She does a another circuit around where she washed up while letting out a shout that echoed in the silence "KRIIISSSS, ALBERRRRT?"
Maria took an anxious breath as she strained her ears listening for a response telling her that her friends were okay and safe... Silence was her only answer.
Maria weighed the pros and cons of going up the lamp lit path towards the house or staying here and yelling more, Her wet and aching body convinced her that the people at the house would hopefully help her and let her use their phone.
Walking up the path towards the open white picket fence Maria stepped into the houses back yard.
Approaching the back steps she let out a startled question.
"what the hell happened here?"
The back door to the house was knocked off its hinges laying on the floor in the flickering light coming from what looked like the kitchen.
On the opposite side a faint red glow was shinning through into the entrance hall. Taking a step inside a startled yelp escaped her as she looked at a dog like creature made of metal.
Its red glow blinking weakly while oils leaked out onto the rug. Behind where it was laying Maria could see multiple bullet holes punched into the dresser, looking past the red glow she could see blood splatters on the floor but thankfully she hasn't seen any bodies yet.
"with some hope they're still alive"
she whispered as she walked into the kitchen her hopes immediately crashed as she looked past the kitchen through an open door...
Laying against the wall in a puddle of still drying blood was a man, across from him next to a chair that was knocked on its side used in vain by the man to try and secure the door lay a broken mechanical spider covered in blood.
