*DISCLAIMER* I don't own Naruto or any of the original characters or the story this all belongs to Masashi Kishimoto, I only own my own my own character. Rating is low as they are too young for naughty things! Also I want you all to know, I call things "Crystal release, Fire release, Earth release, ect" as that is the way they are named on the Naruto wiki. Thats where I do my research in order to find the best explanation of what the jutsu does.

"In a minute!" 12 year old Masumi yelled from her kitchen while pouring some tea for herself bringing it to the table and then heading to open the door. "Yes?" She opened the door only to see the courier ninja handing her a paper to sign and she noticed a package in his hand. "Good Morning, Ms. Senju." She smiled at him after giving him the signed paper back and she took the package. "Good morning sir." She beamed "Another package from your sister… I feel she must send the very special ones through me." he chuckles. "Must be really important, have a great day and stay safe!" She waves at the courier now leaving to deliver the rest of the important mail he has. She shuts the door and walks over to her kitchen table, slipping off the nice little bow used to close the package. She first opens the letter that came with her gift.

We are so proud of you for graduating the academy!

Mayumi wishes she could be there with you,

Sigh you know how she can be!

She'd rather be a traveling ninja than one with an official rank,

But you can be sure I am teaching her as we go…

We found these beautiful earrings made of jade.

We decided to buy them for all of us,

Just to have something we can remember each other by looking at them.

Good luck today, I hope you will have a team you can look after.

Just remember the training you've had with me!

Please write to us, we miss you!

We look forward to your next letter.

Don't forget... we love you...

x Mayumi, Tsunade, Shizune.

She caresses her hands over the three signatures, her older sisters... Shizune acknowledged in her mind among them. She opened the wooden jewelry box and took out the Jade stud earrings. She went in front of the mirror in her living room to put them on. She admired them with a wide smile on her face, they really matched the color of her eyes... jade in color, Tsunade always said they reminded her of their mother's eyes. Strangely, her older twin sister had the opposite looks to hers. Masumi having shoulder length blond hair with an angled fringe, jade colored eyes and for the most part she dressed very girly. Plenty of boys at the academy would try to catch her affection but she never paid mind to them as she was always so into her studies and training. Mayumi on the other hand, had always wanted her raven colored hair short, she would never let it get past her chin, her black colored eyes were also different, and she liked to dress more comfortable than cute. The twins do look very much alike if it weren't for those features. They could've played pranks on people by switching places but alas, they were just happy that they had each other.

She sat down on a chair by her kitchen table with a plate of a few different wagashi to pair with special herbs she drinks every morning for the purpose of energy for the day and she never skipped on eating a wellness food pill made to increase alertness. She looked up at the clock and saw she only had 5 minutes to head out the door and go to the academy. There was a few people that she would think of the pro's and con's of be paired with in the 3 man group.

Hmm Ino… she's far too outspoken, I will always replay the day in my mind when she called me too uncomfortably friendly.. I don't know how having her in the same team would play out… Kiba… I like cats… Shikamaru… He's something…? Sleeps through most of the class but some how always passes everything with flying colors, if sleeping makes you better then mister sandman bring me a dream! The girl got caught up in her thoughts to where she slammed the tea cup on the table and looked at the time.

"Oh no! Two minutes later than I planned to head out the door… I know how many people would kill to take away my seat in class!" She chuckled to herself fixing the metal protector plate with the Leaf village symbol on her shoulder to display proudly. A way of showing she is indeed a ninja of the Hidden Leaf village, its what the people who graduate from the Leaf academy receive to prove they accomplished basic academy course. She took the riser made from her unique crystal release as to be the holder for the chakra bow parts she is able to channel through the riser to make a unique bow, her weapon of choice. Strapping it on the straps she sowed on the back of her dress to hold it. She already had her kunai and shuriken bags strapped onto her thigh. She took one last sip of her tea and headed out the door.

She could already hear a ruckus going on in class before it started, as she walked in she felt lucky that people were paying more attention to the infamous Naruto Uzumaki who no one believed would ever graduate. She smirked to herself knowing he had it in him all along. Everyone seemed to have such negative thoughts going his way but Masumi never gave into the idle chatter. She saw as Naruto looked over her way, she never really knew what went through his mind when he stared at her being that his personality was all over the place. His smile slowly turned into a frown when she took the seat next to Sasuke Uchiha, whom she had been friends with before she could even walk. Tsunade always arraigned play dates with the two Uchiha brothers, Sasuke and Itachi, before Masumi and Mayumi were old enough to start traveling with her. Whenever she came back to the village, Tsunade always said it was important to spend time with them. Why? She still can't get an answer for that question but when Masumi decided to settle in the village, Sasuke and herself would do nearly everything together until that one night… When she lost those who were dear to her and only Sasuke remained. They took strength in each other in order to move on.

"Oi, Masumi." The only time that Sasuke ever really spoke up but almost as a whisper where he didn't want anyone to take notice of him speaking so no one will try to speak to him. Masumi being the only exception, she whispered over to him "The way you say hey to me every day, it's almost as if you're ashamed of me," She started saying while pulling out her chair to sit next to him. "It breaks my heart to think you don't want anyone to know we are acquainted!" She joked, his normal pose of having his nose dug into his fists, turned into him turning to look at her fully laying the side of his face on his palm. "Good Morning, Masumi." He said rather loudly. She looked around to the bewitched girls and the boys not knowing what to think. She snickered turning her face to the side Naruto decided to sit down on. She was in between the boys, Naruto's face turned into bliss upon hearing the blonde girl laugh. When she turned over to look at Sasuke again she noticed the fact that he was trying his hardest to hold back a grin, the sound of her laughing in any type of way has always been his favorite sound. After the day he thought he lost all happiness, her laugh always gave him pure joy, she was his saving grace. Quite literally after he remembered catching a glimpse of her running to his aide before he fell unconscious the night of the Uchiha massacre.

With that Iruka-sensei came into the class and everyone sat down. As he began to announce the groups Sasuke just stared at Masumi as she took out a shuriken a special type that she could manipulate since it was made out of her crystal release. That's what she always did when she was rather bored at the academy. She knew it amused the people around her when she would make tiny crystal animals or miscellaneous objects that she would think of. "Team 7, Masumi Senju," She looked up at Iruka putting her toy away. "Naruto Uzumaki," She looked over at the boy a huge beaming smile on his face, she just flashed him a soft smile and looked back at her sensei. "and Sasuke Uchiha." Right away she could feel the disappointment in all the girls surrounding her while Naruto had conflicting feelings. He made a ruckus trying to think of ways to get Sasuke taken out of the group but she could tell Iruka was not having it as he was already stressed with all the preparations he would have to make to hand off the students off to their new sensei the leader of the group. He announced the rest of the groups being Hinata Hyuga, Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame in team 8 and Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi, and Ino Yamanaka for team 10. Iruka started going over everything they needed to know until lunch break.

Lunch time came around and surprisingly they were serving Sasuke's favorite, onigiri. She wanted to find him to give him a 2nd she managed to snatch while the lunch deliverer wasn't looking. She decided to jump her way to the benches near the Hokage Rock because she knew most people were too lazy to make the climb up there. But if Sasuke needed to find her he would always know that was her spot, There has always been something calming about watching the entire village from up there seeing how people spend their time.

"You're always up here, when will I see the day that you rather be among the living rather than just sitting and watching the living." Sasuke had snuck up behind her. "How did you-? You got your lunch way after me! When did you find the time to sneak up on me like this!" She laughed throwing over the extra onigiri she grabbed for him. "Thank you, I saw Naruto asking where you were," She saw a hint of annoyance on his face. Ever since the massacre 4 years prior, Sasuke had little emotion. Around her he could never seem to be quite completely emotionless after all, their fates were both intertwined when that happened. They both lost people precious to them, to Sasuke it didn't matter if his parents weren't Masumi's ACTUAL parents because for years she had been raised along side them so they took comfort in each other trying to ease the pain, Sasuke is always hesitant to bring up her real parentage. The answer was always My mother is a Senju, and I don't dare dig any deeper because it pains Tsunade of the reminder of mothers death, she died from age related complications of having twins, She lost too much blood from Masumi being breach and having to undergo opening her to get her out. Sasuke always wanted Masumi to try and learn who her father was, because on one play date Shizune let it slip to the twins of how they take after their father when it comes to a superiority complex. She explained that was the reason the two girls took learning what they wanted to the extreme wanting to know everything. But upon pressing Shizune on the matter she always told them to "ask Tsunade or they would know when the time is right".

"We best get back down there how you say among the living Its time we meet who our team leader is going to be." She reached out her hand to him to help him up and follow her lead, it's something that always made him flustered but he found the will to control himself as she would turn it into elbowing his upper arm and he'd chuckle following her.

The trio Sasuke, Masumi, and Naruto waited for a long time in the classroom after the two other sensei had already retrieved their team. Naruto was wanting to pull a prank on their new sensei while Masumi minded her own business yet again playing with her crystal shuriken making objects. If anything this was the best way for her to spend her time as it takes actual art for her to craft things using her jutsu, like her bow, if the riser ever chipped or completely broke from so much target training she would have to make a new one. Making objects using the shuriken to her was training. Sasuke just watched her make different things they were paying no mind to Naruto's antics when their sensei finally stepped in and fell for Naruto's prank. Masumi blinked looking over at their sensei and slammed her hand on the shuriken shattering it, a dead panned look on her face. What did I just witness? She thought to herself staring at how he fell for the chalk eraser falling on his head upon entry. Ha, that's a joke right? He's evaluating us on first impressions… right? She thought to herself then looking over to Sasuke who didn't even care but walked over to make sure Masumi didn't cut her hand with the broken crystals. He flipped her hand over and inspected it wiping away little shards that could possibly prick her. "I'm alright, it's alright the crystals would never hurt me…" She trailed off from talking to him and on to her new sensei. "I'm so sorry sensei, I was far too distracted I should've paid more attention to what my team mate was doing…" she trailed off again looking over to Naruto who's wildly laughing turned mute when he saw the serious glare Masumi gave him. "It's alright, follow me you three lets go somewhere where we can sit and talk." He said and they followed suit, both boys trying to be on their best behavior after the deadly glare Masumi had on her face.

They sat at the top of the academy building. "Okay lets get acquainted. I'll go first. I'm Kakashi Hatake your sensei and team leader from now on I don't wish to disclose anything about myself so I will let you three now tell me something you like, something you dislike, and what your goal is. Lets start with the girl." Masumi's face instantly trailed off to the commotion on the streets around them, the play ground where the young academy children were living life. "This girls name is Masumi Senju," she smiled. "Hmm what I like? Various things but you know cherishing what is going on around us at the moment to have something to remember if it's ever gone…" She paused looking back at Kakashi. "My dislikes? Hmmm now that's a good question when I only see the good in everything. A future goal would be my loves keeper…" Kakashi looked at her questioning what she means by that phrase and she chuckles. "Even Tsunade gives me that look when I say that, I have people who I love in this life they are my loves, as for keeper I train and learn as hard as I do and can so I am willing and able to be their protector, their watcher, their defender." She looks over at Sasuke and thinks to herself That night when I came to your aid when you were unconscious from what Itachi did to you.. I was your keeper then, and I will be your keeper even now and forever… "Very bold of you Masumi" Kakashi says with a smile, he then moves on to Naruto. "Oh me! Uhh, I'm Naruto Uzumaki! I like ramen but I hate the 3 minutes you have to wait for it to be done! And my goal is… to be Hokage!" Kakashi wrinkled his brows and scratched the back of his neck. "Ambitious…" He chuckled. "Me." Sasuke stated more than a question and again dug his face into his hands. "Sasuke Uchiha, I hate a lot of things," he glanced over at Mayumi. "I will admit cherishing is a good thing to like…" he trailed off before firmly stating. "My ultimate goal is to kill a certain someone, someday." The air around them turned dark and Kakashi chuckled. "Well that's enough of today! Tomorrow bright and early we'll meet up at the training grounds be sure to bring your ninja gear and skip breakfast in order to stomach what you have to do. Cya!" Kakashi then quickly left while the three questioned the air around them. Masumi quickly spoke up "Well that's enough of today! I'll see you boys at the training grounds.. seems I have to repair the shuriken I destroyed while waiting for Kakashi-sensei." she waved off to them and both boys made sour faces to each other and left their separate ways.

"Masumi-chan! Wait up!" Naruto called after her and she smiled as he walked beside her. "Hey I was thinking some day we could train together! Your bow! I always see you carrying it but never using it? Have you ever used it before? Where are your arrows?" She was bombarded with questions and she just chuckled and sighed. "I like your enthusiasm, I'd love to train with you guys as a team so that means putting up with each other I'll need to talk to Sasuke about that. We're a team now so we all have to pitch in." She grabs the riser of her bow from the back of her outfit. "This, my wild friend, My chakra flows through." He watches as her chakra invades the riser and forms the upper and lower limbs of the bow then connecting by the bow string, very quickly she takes her index and middle finger. "Crystal release: Barrage Arrows." She whispers turning to a clear path at the bottom of the steps from the academy with clear view of the training grounds. Right on the bullseye of a training target she is able to land 5 arrows instantly without needing to nock between each 5 and as they land piercing damage encasing the target in crystal release. "Fastest way to encase an enemy with my jutsu. Poor things…" she trails off and when she snaps her fingers in order to make the training target shatter into little pieces of crystal leaving only scattered remains of what it once was. "Ouch there's no coming back from that…" He looks amazed. "Did you just disintegrate that to nothing?!" She chuckles while fastening the riser back onto her back. "You see, the technique has a handicap, It takes several minutes for my bow to fill with my chakra and fully form, I have to be be moving around dodging attacks in order to get the bow ready, the barrage arrows are quick to form, as well as simple crystal arrows. But if all is done well, my technique has the ability to reduce the target to scraps. Its very dangerous, that's why my bows riser is mostly a pretty little ornament that lies on my back. I only take it out under safe target practice or with intent. Luckily I've only done the former, the latter is a chance that hasn't appeared since I don't wish ill on people. But my travels with my sister had made me tamper a bunch with my unique jutsu, which is still faulty at times if not preformed correctly. These barrage arrows took me years to get to the aim I have now, but I'm still trying to make my bow form faster." She starts to walk down the path to her apartment. "I'll see you tomorrow she waves off at him."

By the next set of fences she finds Sasuke calmly waiting. "What do you even need to prove to him? You are a far better ninja than he will ever be." Sasuke says walking with her. She stops and looks at him seriously. "I don't know what the future holds for him but I can sense he's strong." He rolls his eyes. "You with your sensory attributes…" She cuts him off "Yes, indeed me with my sensory attributes, He has a lot power in him… I can't put my finger on it but when my senses pick up his pure untapped potential. Sasuke…" she trails off as they arrive to her apartment and she invites him inside and she begins to brew some tea. "He's like us… No parents, us three are like the club of no parents. Like it or not, we are all grouped together now and from this point forward were going to have to rely on each others strengths and try to fill in for our weaknesses." she pours tea for Sasuke and herself. "Don't worry its special leaf's to unwind after a long day, you'll be sleeping calm in your bed when you get home, good enough for whatever will be thrown at us tomorrow." She looks at him and sighs. "Don't do that… what's wrong?" He asks as she starts fiddling with her jutsu filling some canisters one for each label with the words kunai, shuriken, arrows. "I want this to work out for all of us, you have me.. Naruto has no one, he needs this, he needs someone. Please… if I implore you will you do me the favor of trying to get along…?" She looks at him with intensity in her eyes. He gives in never wanting to displease the girl who has stuck by his grouchy mood. "Yes." He simply answers and she smiles. "Tomorrow will be a good day, and if you are extra good ill make you some type of nice dinner!" She perks up and Sasuke nods. "We will bring our best tomorrow." She ponders the new hope their team will bring

This chapter was most to give more information on the relationship between Masumi and others, how her chemistry will work around them and also give more information on her abilities. But its better to progress her abilities with the progression of the story. The more into it we get the more information about Masumi's past will come to light. Thank you for reading, until the next one!
