Epilogue

"So, what are your plans for the weekend?" Ali asked as the last appointment for the day walked out of the office, a prescription in the mother's hand for a new inhaler.

Buck shrugged. "Nothing much. Maybe watching a movie. Or going to the park. Haven't decided yet."

Ali wrinkled her nose. "That's boring. You need to get out there and get a life. Meet someone, so maybe you can have something more exciting than a movie or a trip to the park planned for your weekend."

Buck grinned. "Who says I haven't met someone?"

Ali's mouth dropped open. Before she could ask the inevitable question, the door opened, a bell dinging to announce the newcomer.

Ali and Buck both looked to the door.

If possible, Ali's mouth dropped open even more.

"You ready? I have an anxious Christopher in the car waiting for dinner at his favorite Mexican place," Eddie said with a grin.

Buck nodded, walking over to him and giving him a quick peck on the lips. "Yep, we're just closing up."

Ali grabbed the keys, still looking at Buck and Eddie in shock. All three of them walked out of the office. After Ali closed up, Buck said, "Have a good weekend, Ali. See you on Monday."

He put his arm around Eddie's back and the two of them walked over to Eddie's truck. Christopher opened the back door and reached for a hug from Buck who happily supplied.

"Hey, Superman. So, I've been told we're doing Mexican tonight?"

Christopher nodded eagerly. "They have the best nachos. You have to try them."

Buck grinned. "Can't wait." He got in the passenger suit while Eddie went over to the driver's side.

After Buck buckled up and opened the window, he gave Ali a wave. "Try not to get into any trouble," he warned.

Ali nodded, still looking completely shocked with wide eyes. She waved as the car pulled out of the parking space.

"What's up with her?" Eddie asked after they began driving.

"I think she broke when she realized I was actually seeing someone romantically. That I actually have a life outside of work now."

Eddie chuckled. "Yes, you do." He took Buck's hand over the center console, giving it a little squeeze. "And I'm never going to let you not have a life again.

Notes: Like I said in the previous chapter, I'm planning to make this a series. I have some ideas for other stories to write, but let me know if you want to see something in partciular.
