Lexi was disassociating...again, it wasn't like she was doing it on purpose, but Nate's dad had scared her so bad that it was only natural for her to disappear into an alternate dimension, in which she laughed at the pale faced girl standing by stale and expired snacks, that girl had not only embarrassed herself in front of Fezco but had also been exposed to probable danger.
"Lexi?" Fez's voice pulled her back to reality, he was now standing in front of her, a worried expression in his face "sorry about that fucking shit show, swear I never seen him before"
"I have to go" she hastily interrupted him from giving more explanations, her heartbeat resonated in her chest.
He scratched the back of his head and nodded slightly, his eyes didn't meet hers this time "Yeah, it was good seeing you Lexi Howard"
She smiled nervously, and almost ran to her bike, her ride back home was a complete blackout.
Cassie was glued to her phone and her mother to her wine glass, neither of them paid her much mind, which would have been completely fine except she was pretty sure that things could have gone very badly at the store.
Nate's dad pulling out a gun and taking her as hostage.
"Don't move or I'll kill her right now!" He yelled on her ear; the gun pressed against her head.
"Yo man, put that down!" Fez yelled and slowly began to lower his own gun "don't fucking touch her, I swear if you hurt her..."
"Just like what you did to my son?" He pressed the gun harder to her forehead "I'll blow her brain out, how about that?"
She was not about to wait for Fez to save her, she stomp on his foot hard enough to distract him, in a swift movement she had freed herself and ran to Fez, the boy held her tightly with one hand while the other pointed his gun at Nate's dad.
"I said don't fucking touch her" Fez repeated, she looked up to him and smiled, his eyes shined towards her right before shooting him between his eyes.
Real time Lexi shook her head, that was way too graphic, even for her, and why the fuck was she the damsel in distress? Nate's dad creeped the shit out of her, that was probably the reason. She was in bed trying to sleep but failing miserably, even with all that weird vibe going on at the store she realized that nothing had actually happened, no guns, violence, and nothing between her and Fez.
She sighed feeling completely stupid and ridiculous, not only had she been thinking about Fez nonstop after New Year's party, but had actually gone to his illegal workplace to see him, and was now fantasizing an action scene in which she literally killed Nate's dad for dramatic purposes.
Lexi would not do this to herself, or to Fez, he wasn't responsible for her obsessive imagination or her current fixation on him, she would not call it a crush, a crush would mean her heart was on the line, and Lexie Howard was not going to be vulnerable.
She had been pretty sure he had flirted with her at the party, he had been sweet, funny, and soft in general, something she was not used to at all, besides for once she had paid attention to him, as if she had unlocked a new character, one she really liked.
The next morning after a shower she had decided to take a step back from her little Fezco project and invest all that energy into something she could control, that was to casually insert him into her top secret play as secondary character with potential to be developed further on a future project, that would have to do.
She tried to get over her secondhand embarrassment with herself, and stay away from Fez until she was completely certain her fixation was over, besides he probably wouldn't remember her in a week or two.
"Yo, why do you say that?" Fez leaned against the door frame of the bathroom, she had a towel on her head and was in the middle of brushing her teeth "you're the most interesting person in this place, Lexi Howard"
"Really?" She let out. That wasn't scripted, why was she being insecure in her own imagination?
"For real" Fez promised and slowly walked to her, he took her hand and caressed it tenderly "was gonna ask you out in the store"
"Were you?" Again, with this shitty dialogue.
"Yeah" he smiled sweetly, gosh she really liked his face "Lexi?"
"Yes?"
He reached for her face and kissed her.
Real Lexi went red, not that anyone noticed in English class, but she had never self-inserted herself in her own fake mirror life.
No, she would not have these thoughts, she needed to focus on something important, but what?
Something she could control, perhaps it was time to make use of her play, besides she really hated Oklahoma, two birds in a row.
