Sans sat on the couch and watched TV while Papyrus cleaned up the dishes.
Sans recalls his meeting with the boy, who called himself Sunny.
"Hm..." Sans lowers his head down as his eyes narrow.
When he, Papyrus, and Sunny are getting a short-to-knowing-each-other moment, Sans notices something's wrong with the boy. Of course, he had to lie to Papyrus about what he knew about Sunny...
...Because when he stared at the new arriving neighbor, he noticed that Sunny's eyes weren't the eyes of a person having a hard time adapting to this new life because they had just moved in; instead, it was more like the expression of someone who's overcome with guilts and past traumas, the face of a person who wishes that nobody would uncover "something" about themselves.
Sans knows this better than anyone does because...he-
"SANS?" asked Papyrus.
Sans snaps back to reality as he looks over at Papyrus with a confused face.
"Uh, is something wrong, bro?" asked Sans.
"YOU'VE SEEM TO HAVE A LOT GOING ON LATELY, DEAR BROTHER," said Papyrus.
"What?" asked Sans.
"WELL...YOU KNOW, I'VE NOTICED YOU'VE BEEN MAKING AN UNHAPPY EXPRESSION, IS SOMETHING WRONG?" asked Papyrus.
"Oh...nothing, just having a lot of thoughts about SUNSHINE," Sans said out his puns once more as he smiled at his brother.
Although, unlike most of the times where it ends up with Papyrus shouting out of annoyance, the tall skeleton was confused, of course, since there's nothing related to the term "SUNSHINE" in the house.
However...
"SUNSHINE? WHAT ARE YOU UP, SANS?" asked Papyrus as he narrowed his eyes.
Before Sans could say anything, Papyrus realizes what it means and starts to do the same old thing whenever he hears Sans's puns.
"NYEH! SANS, NOT WITH THE PUNS AGAIN!" yelled Papyrus.
"Hahahahahaha," Sans just calmly laughs.
After the brothers calm down, they sit down and watch television together until the two of them randomly fall asleep.
...
...
...
...
...The skeleton brothers suddenly felt something was off.
A large gust of wind blew from beneath them, and they felt as if they weren't on the couch anymore.
"?" The brothers opened their eyes to witness a strange sight.
Purple clouds?
Stars?
And a pink background?
Are they...falling?
"NYEH? SANS! YOU LAZYBONES! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" yelled Papyrus.
"I did nothing wrong...but what is happening?" asked Sans.
The skeleton brothers suddenly land on what appears to be a garden of golden flowers that is in the middle of a green grass field surrounded by trees.
"Ugh," Sans groans as he slowly gets up and scratches his head in dizziness and confusion.
"SANS, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT, BROTHER?!" asked Papyrus.
"Ye-yeah, I'm fine Paps. Where are we, by the way?" asked Sans.
"I DON'T KNOW. SEEMS LIKE A FOREST," said Papyrus.
The tall skeleton was observing the surroundings but could only find trees.
"Woah," said Sans.
"WHAT'S A MATTER BROTHER?" asked Papyrus.
Sans points up as Papyrus follows where he's pointing. The tall skeleton's eyes widen.
"WOWIE, IS THAT THE SKIES? WAIT, IS THIS A DREAM?!" said Papyrus.
"Huh? A dream? Are two people sharing dreams even possible?" asked Sans in confusion.
"I DON'T KNOW, BUT I THINK ITS TRUE NOW!" said Papyrus in excitement.
"...Okay, now what?" asked Sans.
"WE EXPLORE AND SEE WHAT THIS DREAMWORLD IS INHABITED WITH, COME ON, SANS, LET'S GET GOING," said Papyrus as he dragged Sans along with him.
The skeleton brothers began their journey.
However, before they could do anything, they were suddenly transported into another area, this area...it was none other than The Neighbor's Room.
"WHAT HAPPENED?" asked Papyrus.
"Uh...Paps, you might wanna look back at yourself," said Sans.
Papyrus looks down, seeing that he's wearing what appears to be his old "battle suit".
"WOWIE! IT'S MY OLD ARMOR!" said Papyrus.
"Yeah, anyway, where are we?" asked Sans.
Through Sans's observation, this area appears to be similar to a kindergarten's playroom, though it is surrounded by weird stone pillars, golden flowers, and even a river.
Yet, that's not the weirdest thing he saw. A giant yellow cat observed them from above.
It was almost as if it was combined with The Ruins from the Underground.
"Woah, pretty weird," said Sans.
While the skeleton brothers were busy looking around the area, Papyrus noticed a door in the corner of the room.
"HEY, SANS, LET'S GO AND CHECK OUT WHAT'S IN THERE," said Papyrus.
"Okay, coming," said Sans
But, before they could do anything, the door suddenly opened, revealing it to be...
"Sunny?"
"HUMAN SUNNY?"
Sunny walks out of the door toward the skeleton brothers and stares at them with an emotionless face.
"HUMAN? DO YOU REMEMBER US?" asked Papyrus.
On the other hand, Sans had a weird feeling behind his BACKBONE. No, seriously, he had this strange feeling, looking at Sunny's eyes, or, that's who he presumed to be the Sunny he knew, he noticed the kid's eyes didn't have any emotions at all.
It was almost as if the boy was...apathetic, an emotion that Sans was familiar with.
"Paps, stay back," said Sans.
He teleports right in front of Papyrus as he walks over and makes eye contact with Sunny.
"Who are you? You're not that kid," said Sans.
"..." this boy, who is similar to Sunny, stared at the skeleton without showing any emotions.
The boy didn't respond. He remained silent.
"SANS, COME AND LOOK AT THIS," said Papyrus.
Sans looks behind and sees that Papyrus is holding what appears to be a note.
As they both walk over and start to read it.
"Dear Omori, we'll be waiting for you on the outside to meet up with Basil and Mari. You know where to find us. Good luck :."
-Aubrey
"Aubrey? Is she that kid's friend?" muttered Sans.
"OMORI? IS THAT THE HUMAN'S NAME? I THOUGHT YOUR NAME WAS SUNNY," said Papyrus.
"Paps, this is a dream. There might be a possibility this isn't Sunny, but rather a person who looks like him," whispered Sans.
"NO MATTERS, COME WITH US OMORI, LEAD THE WAY TO YOUR FRIENDS," said Papyrus.
Omori nods before leading the skeleton brothers towards the exit of The Neighbor's Room. As soon as the trio got out of the tree stump, they began walking around the colorful and beautiful forest, though, at first, the brothers were confused about whether Omori even knew where he was going since its been half an hour. They only end up in some weird areas, a lake, a bridge-like rail train that leads to god-knows-where.
"Uh, kiddo, you sure that this is the right way?" asked Sans.
Omori still didn't respond until...
"Yes..." said Omori.
Sans's eyes widen as this is the first time he hears the boy speaking.
"Okay..." said Sans.
Not long after, the trio has finally made it to their location. It was a playground full of weird-looking creatures.
"WOWIE, LOOK SANS, THERE ARE MONSTERS HERE," said Papyrus in excitement.
"Yeah, I know. Where are we?" asked Sans.
"AH! OMORI!" yelled a little girl having a picnic with her friends.
It was Aubrey.
Omori looks over as he walks toward them. Sans and Papyrus both follow the boy.
"Hello there, Omori! Glad to see you've made it! And who are those two behind you?" asked Aubrey.
"WHY I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AND THIS LAZYBONES IS MY DEAR BROTHER, SANS," said Papyrus.
Sans thought that something was awkward, but it couldn't be. This is a dream. Nothing wrong can happen. If that's the case, he'll play along too.
"Sup kids, don't mind me. I'm just CHILLING TO THE BONES," said Sans.
"NYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! SANS!" yelled Papyrus.
The friends all watched as the tall skeleton yelled at his brother.
