Healing

Sasha's parents come to pick her up from the Boonchuy's house. Sasha's nervous to see her parents again, but she's happy that they're coming to bring her home. After all of the adventures and terrifying experiences she had in Amphibia, she's ready for some normalcy.

Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Sasha's quick to answer it. She opens the door to see her parents with tears of joy in their eyes. They embrace Sasha in a heartwarming hug and ask her if she's okay.

"Yes, I'm okay. I'm just happy to be home." Sasha said.

The Waybright's thank the Boonchuy's for keeping Sasha safe while they were separated. They thank Anne as well for sending the letter and bringing her home.

Anne smiles, she'd never give up on her friends, no matter what.

The Waybright's start walking to their car, and Sasha stays behind for a moment to say goodbye to Anne and Marcy.

"Anne, call me or text me if you need anything or just need to talk." Sasha said.

"Of course Sasha. I'm sure we'll see each other again soon." Anne replied.

Sasha looks over at Marcy who's smiling, but has been quiet since the Waybright's arrived. Sasha knows this is hard for Marcy since her parents moved away.

"Marcy, same goes for you. Seriously, if you need anything, don't be afraid to reach out." Sasha said.

"I will Sasha, I promise." Marcy replied.

Sasha smiles and gives Anne and Marcy one last hug before she leaves with her parents. Anne and Marcy watch as she goes, waving goodbye as they drive away.

With that, the Boonchuy's walk over to Anne and Marcy, already knowing that Marcy's parents moved. They both look at Marcy's sad expression and Anne puts her arm around her.

"Marcy, we're so sorry to hear that your parents moved. You're more than welcome to stay with us while we search for your parents." Mr. Boonchuy said.

Marcy looks at the Boonchuy's surprised, a sense of hope comes back into her eyes. She's happy that she has a place to stay while they look for her parents, and excited she'll be staying with Anne.

"Thank you both so much for letting me stay here. You're all so kind and I can't express enough how grateful I am." Marcy said.

Anne smiles, happy that Marcy is going to be staying with them for the time being. After everything that's happened to Marcy, she's going to need her support.

"Thank you for letting Marcy stay with us Mom and Dad." Anne said.

"It's no problem at all. We're happy to have Marcy here while we look for her parents. Speaking of, do you know where they were planning to move to, Marcy?" Mr. Boonchuy asked.

Marcy looks at them with a blank expression as she flashes back to the day her Dad told her that they were moving out of state. The catalyst that led her to make the impulsive decision to use the calamity box to travel to Amphibia.

Anne notices Marcy's clearly in distress and takes her hand.

"Marcy, is everything okay?" Anne asked.

Marcy snaps out of her flashback when she hears Anne's concerned voice.

"I think so. I just thought about the day my Dad told me we were moving and it brought back a lot of emotions. I'll be okay though." Marcy said.

"Okay, thank you for being honest." Anne replied.

Marcy smiles back at Anne, then looks to Mr. Boonchuy to answer his question.

"Yes, I remember now. They were going to move to Colorado. My Dad got a new job there and he said it would be better for our family financially if we moved." Marcy said.

"Alright, we will start looking there." Mr. Boonchuy replied.

"We weren't able to get ahold of them by phone, so they must have changed their numbers. But having the name of the state is a good start." Mrs. Boonchuy said.

The Boonchuy's promise Marcy they're going to find her parents and reassure her that she's welcome to stay with them for as long as it takes. With that, they go into the other room to start doing their research.

Anne and Marcy sit on the couch smiling at each other, both happy that they get to live together. They have been close friends since kindergarten, but this is a new experience for both of them. They've changed so much since their journey to Amphibia, and it shows as their bond is stronger than ever.

Marcy thinks about how grateful she is to have such a kind and compassionate friend. Anne has always been looking out for her, and she thinks it's time for her to start looking out for Anne for a change.

"Anne, you're an amazing friend. Always protecting me and helping me work through my emotions after we got back from Amphibia. I just want to make sure you're okay. I mean, you do so much for me, it's a lot for one person to take on. We've both been through a lot and I just want you to know I'm here to support you too." Marcy said.

Anne smiles, tears running down her face as the intense feelings she was holding in come out. She's been trying so hard to be strong for Marcy, she didn't give herself time to feel.

"Thanks Marcy. It's nice to know that you're here to support me too." Anne replied.

Anne and Marcy hug, feeling safe and supported by each other. Then, they look into each other's eyes longingly, lean in, and kiss. A short but intimate moment between them. Sparks fly as the world around them comes to a stop and it's just the two of them, lost in the moment.

Once they stop kissing, they look into each other's eyes starstruck, both blushing and nervous.

"Wow, that was amazing." Marcy said.

"Yeah, it was." Anne replied.

Marcy lays her head on Anne's shoulder and Anne puts her arm around her, enjoying this peaceful moment, watching the scenery out the window. Both happy to be home and safe in each other's arms. They end up falling asleep on the couch.

Anne wakes up to find Marcy sleeping next to her, her head still resting on her shoulder. Anne smiles thinking how peaceful and calm Marcy looks. She's happy that Marcy's able to get a moment of relaxation and lets her rest.

Anne looks out the window and can't help but think about what will happen when they find Marcy's parents. Of course, she wants Marcy to reunite with her family, but she doesn't want her to move away. After everything that has happened and how close they've become, she doesn't want to lose her.

All of the sudden, Marcy slowly starts waking up. Anne tenses up and tries to hide her feelings of sadness about Marcy moving away with her family.

"Hey Mar Mar, how did you sleep?" Anne asked.

Marcy opens her eyes and notices the sun setting outside.

"Good, I really needed that. We must have slept all day since the sun's going down." Marcy said.

"We did. I think we both needed the rest." Anne replied.

Marcy notices Anne seems a little anxious and starts to wonder why.

"Anne, are you okay?" Marcy asked.

"Actually, I'm nervous about finding your parents. We know they moved out of state and, when we find them, you're probably going to move with them. It's just, I finally got you back and I don't want to lose you again." Anne replied.

Marcy realized this and didn't want to bring it up before. She just wants to enjoy the limited time she has with Anne, but she knows she has to face the reality of her situation.

"Anne, I'm nervous too. I don't want to move out of state and leave you, but there my parents. Plus, I've been running away from my problems for too long. It's time I face reality." Marcy said.

Anne's shocked by how much Marcy's perspective has changed on the moving situation. It shows how much she has grown during her time in Amphibia. She's proud of her, but also doesn't want Marcy to lose parts of herself that make her who she is.

"Marcy, I'm glad you've accepted that you may need to move out of state, that's really mature of you. Just don't lose your spirit for adventure, okay? And don't forget about me." Anne said.

"I could never forget you Anne. And don't worry, my fantasy loving heart is still alive and well. You can count on that." Marcy replied.

"I know. That's why I love you." Anne said.

Marcy looks at Anne with a big smile as they both blush intensely, realizing what Anne just said.

"Anne, I love you too." Marcy said.

With that, they both kiss. Anne and Marcy knew it was going to be hard to heal from all of the trauma they experienced after coming back from Amphibia, but being so close with each other has made the road to recovery easier for both of them.

Suddenly, the Boonchuy's come into the living room with big news. Anne and Marcy stop kissing as soon as they hear them coming. Anne wants to ease her parents into this new relationship with Marcy slowly.

"You girls are never going to believe this. The battle downtown was on the news and Marcy's parents must have seen it. They just called us." Mr. Boonchuy said.

Marcy looks shocked, she can't believe her parents already know where she is. She's relieved, but sad. She thought she'd have more time with Anne before she moves away.

"Marcy, your parents are on the phone right now. They want to talk to you right away." Mrs. Boonchuy said.

"Come on Marcy, I'll go with you." Anne said.

Marcy smiles and Anne helps her walk to the kitchen. When they get there they sit at the table, Marcy staring at Mrs. Boonchuy's cell phone. Anne can tell she's anxious so she puts her hand on her shoulder.

"Hey, I'm right here. You can do this." Anne said.

Marcy takes a deep breath as she slowly picks up the phone.

"Hello, Mom, Dad, it's me." Marcy said.

Marcy's parents are overwhelmed with joy and sadness finally hearing their long lost daughter's voice again.

"Marcy, are you okay? We missed you so much." Mrs. Wu said.

"Hi Mom, I missed you too. And yes I'm okay. I'm here with Anne and the Boonchuy's." Marcy replied.

"Marcy, we're so sorry we moved. After five months of waiting for you to come home, we thought you were gone. We were devastated, but I'm so happy to hear you're okay." Mr. Wu said.

"Hi Dad, it's okay. I understand why you moved. I'm just happy to hear your voices again. I'm so sorry I ran away." Marcy replied.

Marcy has a long conversation with her parents, tears running down her face as she does. Anne's there to support her, knowing even though she's going to miss Marcy if she moves, she's still going to be here for her.

Once Marcy's done talking with her parents, she hangs up the phone and looks at Anne with a smile on her face. Anne waits patiently to hear what she's going to tell her.

"Anne, you're not going to believe this. My parents said they didn't realize how much moving away would affect me emotionally. So, they're leaving it up to me if I want to move to Colorado with them or stay here in Los Angeles and live with my cousin Ally and her partner Jess. I told them I want to stay here. My parents are okay with that because they can still visit me." Marcy said.

"Marcy, that's great news. I didn't know Ally was your cousin, I know her. We actually met when I got back home from Amphibia. She and Jess helped us rebuild frobo." Anne replied.

"Really? That's so cool! I'm so happy I get to stay with them and all of their awesome robot tech. Plus, I get to stay here with you and Sasha." Marcy said.

"I guess everything worked out in the end." Anne replied.

With that, Anne and Marcy walk back into the living room together to tell the Boonchuy's the good news. Anne's parents are happy to hear that Marcy's going to be staying in Los Angeles with Ally and Jess. They all agree it seems like a healthy environment for her.

Anne also wants to tell her parents about her and Marcy being in a relationship. She's not sure how they're going to feel about it, but she trusts her parents know what's best for her.

"Mom, Dad, I need to tell you something." Anne said.

"What is it, Anne?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.

"Since Marcy's not moving, I need to let you know that we are together now, in a relationship. It kind of just happened and I know you two are strict about me dating, but I love Marcy and we are so happy together." Anne said.

The Boonchuy's look at each other, then look back at Anne with smiles on their faces.

"Anne, we're so happy for you two." Mr. Boonchuy said.

"If you two are happy, then we are happy. Plus, I always knew you two would end up together eventually." Mrs. Boonchuy said with a wink.

Anne and Marcy blush, both smiling.

"Mom!" Anne said, slightly embarrassed.

"Thank you both for your support." Marcy said.

The Boonchuy's nod approvingly. They know that Anne and Marcy will be good for each other.

With that, they all head off to bed. The Boonchuy's go to their bedroom while Anne and Marcy head up to Anne's room. Marcy still has trouble walking long distances, so Anne carries her up the stairs.

Once they're in Anne's room they change into their pajamas. Then they lie in Anne's bed together. Since they slept all day, they decide to stay up and play video games together, laughing and having fun, just like old times.

Suddenly, Marcy pauses the game and looks at Anne with a smile. Anne's surprised that Marcy stopped the game just as they were just about to win.

"What is it, Marcy? Why did you pause the game?" Anne asked.

"It's just, what did I do to deserve such an amazing person like you in my life, Anne?" Marcy asked.

"I feel the same way Marcy. I always have. And I hope you know how much I care about you." Anne replied.

"I do." Marcy said.

"Good, cause I'm not going anywhere." Anne said.

With that, the girls continue the game and win effortlessly, both cheering in celebration as they do.

Anne and Marcy are so happy that everything is falling into place. It almost seems too good to be true. Both girls know from experience that change is inevitable, so they might as well make the most of the good times and embrace it. As long as they have each other, everything will be okay.
