IllusionSign (Guest): I think you'll like the YouTuber CrashTheSkylands

Sorry this took so long. School ended, then I got a summer job and I've just been really busy. In addition, I didn't want to go straight into Spyro's Adventure so writer's block hit me pretty hard too. But I think I finally have something in mind. So, I hope you enjoy. Sky is now six.

"Are we there yet!? Are we there yet!?" Sky endlessly repeated as she jumped up and down eagerly. Eon was finally taking her to see the Core of Light.

"Be patient, Sky," Eon assured her. "We will be there shortly." In truth, Eon had been planning to wait a little longer, but with Kaos suddenly more active, Sky getting to see it and truly learning how important it was simply couldn't wait.

"Yo, Master Eon! We're here!" The pilot, a Mabu named Flynn, called out from the cockpit of the ship they had taken. Sky's smile only got wider.

"Thank you, Flynn," Eon thanked him as Flynn lowered the ramp, allowing them to step off.

"Is that the Core?" Sky asked as she pointed to the middle of the ruins. The light could be seen coming from the dome, but Eon merely chuckled.

"It's inside the dome," Eon replied. "The dome is simply meant to protect it from those that wish to harm it." Taking Sky's hand, he found the door and led Sky inside.

"Whoa…." Sky trailed off as she stared at the ancient machine. As she ran around, taking in the machine, she tried to see how it worked. No luck. "How does this work?"

"There are many different parts, Sky," Eon began to explain. "But the main ones are the Eight Eternal Elemental Sources."

"But…aren't there ten elements?" Sky asked.

"There are Light or Dark Elemental Sources," Eon explained. "Not even I understand why."

"So…Air…Magic…Life…Water…Earth…Tech…Fire…Undead?" Sky asked as she looked at what she thought was each element in the machine.

"That is correct," Eon replied, causing Sky to happily giggle. "But there are other parts. First, The Twin Spouts of Ocea-Major-Minor. These are what allow the water from the Water Source to move through the machine to power it."

"So does water power it?" Sky asked.

"In a way," Eon answered, causing Sky. Eon took that cue to move to the next part. "This is The Crystal Eye. It is what focuses the beam and gives it the power it needs to banish evil doers."

"So bright…" Sky was almost hypnotized by the light. Eon smiled. That was the best reaction he could hope for, considering that it was known to blind evil doers.

"The next two parts work together," Eon said as he pointed to one of the gears. "The Golden Gear and The Green Goo of Primordia. These, working with the Life Source, are what creates the machinery that allows the Core of Light to create its light."

"But, how does that work?" Sky asked.

"Well, the roots that the Life Source are what the Golden Gear connects to, while the Goo is what gives it enough power to truly banish evildoers."

"That makes sense…I think," Sky replied after a few seconds. Eon merely smiled at his daughter's antics and continued, pointing at the skull mask near the top of the machine.

"The Skull Mask of the Undead King Mortalannis!" He revealed. "This is what keeps the Undead Source under control. While the Undead Skylanders are mostly under control, most spirits can be rather troublesome."

"Is that why you keep Grim Creeper around?" Sky innocently asked. Eon stroked his beard in amusement. Grim Creeper had wanted to become a ghost wrangler, only to find his calling as a Skylander when he single handedly saved the school he wanted to apply to in spite of them claiming he didn't have the needed skills. Of course, since he was still rather young, he was something of a prankster and when he teamed up with someone like Ghost Roaster….

Let's just say he understood why Chop Chop could be so cranky.

Still, he would have to tell them to watch what they said about others when Sky was around. The less infighting they had to deal with, the better. "While he is useful for that, that is not the only reason he is allowed to be a Skylander. But please don't repeat that to him."

"Okay!" Sky replied with yet another smile. Eon really hoped she actually listened to him. Still, he moved on.

"The final two objects work together as well," He explained as he pointed to the bunsen burner like object near the middle. "That is The Crucible of the Ages. It is fueled by a special type of oil we call the Quicksilver. It was what activated the runes on the Core of Light. And, of course, the Eternal Elemental Sources. Their energy is what fully fuels the Core, but the other parts are equally important."

"Is that why Kaos keeps trying to destroy it?" Sky asked, pleading eyes looking at Eon. He sighed.

"Sadly yes," The older Portal Master replied. "Kaos is a Dark Portal Master. He can command portals as well, but he believes this power should be used to rule over Skylands rather than protect it. If he is able to destroy this, the Darkness, his power source, would be able to consume all of Skylands."

"But…if Darkness is evil, why do we have a Dark element?" Sky asked nervously.

"Because not all Darkness is evil, just like all Light is not good." Eon began to explain. "While it is a common power that evil doers use, that doesn't mean that all those who use it are evil. In fact, all elements can be used by good or evil. Part of the reason I wanted to have elements like Dark or Undead was so that those with those powers don't see evil as their only path."

"So…anyone can be evil or good? No matter what their powers or skills are?" Sky attempted to recap. Eon smiled. For someone so young, she was quite smart.

"Indeed," Eon replied as he stroked his beard once again. "Now, shall we return home?"

"Yeah, I'm kinda tired," Sky said with a yawn. Eon simply smiled as he led her out. He did have one more surprise for her.

"Sky, wake up," Eon softly said as he nudged his daughter. They had nearly made it back to the Academy.

"Mmmm…" Sky groaned as she forced her eyes open. "I'm still tired."

"I understand, but I have one more surprise for you," Eon said. Sky promptly shot up.

"What is it?!" She eagerly asked. Eon chuckled. Kids were always so excitable.

"It's inside your room," Eon explained as he led Sky towards her room. On the way, several teachers and Skylanders smiled at Sky or gave her a thumbs up. The younger girl was still confused, but only getting more excited. Finally, they reached Sky's room.

And she saw it.

Her own Portal Master staff!

"Is…is this for me?" Sky asked as she looked over it. She had a feeling it was, but she still couldn't believe it.

"It is," Eon revealed, placing his hand over Sky's. The young girl had already grabbed his staff, testing how it felt to hold. Eon could already see it was too big and heavy for her to hold for a long time, but she seemed to like it. "I was planning to wait until you were a little older, but I feel like you are ready now."

"Of course I am!" Sky replied proudly. Eon smiled, but he still couldn't take the sense of impending doom he had.

"GLUMSHANKS!" The shout of his master caused Glumshanks to nearly drop the clipboard and files he was holding, causing the troll to scramble to collect everything as Kaos walked over.

"Yes, Lord Kaos?" He dutifully asked.

"How is progress on my ultra powerful explosive going?" The dark portal master asked. Glumshanks began to look over his notes.

"According to reports, it should be finished by tomorrow," He reported. Kaos yanked the clipboard away from him, grinning as he read over the notes.

"Excellent!" Kaos declared. "Then tomorrow, the Core of Light will be NO MORE!" Kaos declared proudly as he began to laugh.

So, you were all asking how Kaos was going to destroy the Core without the hydra? Well, here's your answer! See you next time!
