Gamelover41592: Thanks!
Matt (Guest): I'm sure he's fine.
I think you all know the drill at this point-time to get the next piece of the Core of Light. Let's begin!
"Excellent! The Eternal Water Source is once again part of the Core of Light!" Hugo declared, causing the Skylanders to cheer once again.
"Do not celebrate yet," Eon noted. "The Darkness will continue to spread until the Core is finished."
"Of course, Master Eon." Hugo agreed. "But I'm still not sure where to look for the next piece!"
"Hey! A gate just opened up!" Sky noticed, using her staff to point. Sure enough, a gate seemed to just randomly open.
"Now THAT was unexpected!" Hugo marveled. The magic of Skylands never ceased to amaze him.
"Permission to explore the new area, Master Eon?" Chop Chop asked.
"Permission granted," Eon replied with a nod.
"I've been hearing strange noises coming from there for a while," Hugo admitted. "So it would be nice to know what is causing them while I search for the next part of the Core of Light." With a nod, several Skylanders rushed over to where the gate was.
"Why don't you go join them?" Eon offered to his daughter. Sky simply hugged him before rushing over to join the Skylanders. She found them clustered around a large robot.
"Think this is what Hugo was hearing?" Bash offered.
"All the creaking is rather loud," Hex agreed.
"STAND. ASIDE," Drill Sergeant ordered as he came over, oil tank balanced on his head. Once he was in front of the robot, he tilled himself forwards, allowing oil to spill onto the robot, which sprang to life, causing quite a few Skylanders to jump back.
"Goooooooooood morning Skylands! Whew. Thanks for the oil-up! I've been stuck in that position for ages!" The robot declared as he stretched his limbs out. "Ooph! That feels good! Hey, I owe you, big time." The robot then thought for a few seconds, snapping his fingers once he had an idea. "I can make you rich! See, I'm a Clam-Tron 4000. Just find me some clams and I'll mash them all up into a big fat pearl! How's that?"
"THAT. SHOULD. BE. ACCEPTABLE," Drill Sergeant declared for his fellow Skylanders, who had already begun gathering up the clams, eagerly dreaming what upgrades they could buy with an upgrade like that. Soon, they had all the clams they needed.
"As promised, one new gleaming white pearl coming right up!" The Clam-Tron declared as he dropped the clams inside his stomach to begin the process. "A little more pressure! Add some heat! Now just shift it around with a touch of elbow grease and…PRESTO!" All the Skylanders eagerly looked over the result.
Only to find that the supposed pearl was black and had a fuse.
"What? A shiny new BLACK pearl?!" The Clam-Tron exclaimed. "Oh no…what happened!? What did you do to me!? Unh…I've lost my gift!"
"We were trying to help you!" Sky fired back.
"But, black pearls are far more valuable in today's market," A merchant bear, Auric, declared as he came over. None of the Skylanders really knew where he came from and none of them really cared. "Here, let me take a look." The Clam-Tron held it out for him to see, causing Auric to jump back a little when he saw what it really was. "Ah, it's…uh…not a pearl…I, uh…Big fuse…go boom!"
"I don't understand-what are you talking about?" The Clam-Tron asked.
"YOU MADE A BOMB!" Auric exclaimed. As if on cue, several Skylanders moved in front of Sky.
"Good news!" Hugo declared as he came over with Eon, both oblivious to what was going on. "I found another piece of the great machine! The Cyclopses have stolen the Crystal Eye. Figures! They always wanted it for themselves. Even named their castle after it. But the bad news is that they've sealed off the bridge entrance that used to unite the temple to their kingdom."
"So it will appear we will need to find another method to get in," Eon finished for his scholar.
"Wait…is that a bomb?" Hugo asked once he took notice of how freaked out everyone was. "Where in Skylands did we get a bomb?"
"I made it myself!" The Clam-Tron declared.
"Really? Well that might be just what we need!" Hugo declared happily. "A bomb could possibly blow open the entrance to the tunnel. Or blow us all up in the process, but hopefully the former."
"All right then! Just come back anytime you need another one. Apparently I can make these things all day long." The Clam-Tron promised as he set the bomb down.
"Outta the way!" Terrafin declared as he grabbed the bomb and rushed over, lobbing the bomb at the blockage.
"WOW! Thank you for breaking down the barrier!" A Molekin declared as he stepped out of the cave. "Oh dear." He then took a good look at the group, grateful there were no Cyclops among them. "Oh thank goodness you're not Cyclopses, are you? I sure hope not because I just escaped from their Crystal Eye Castle!"
"Can you not see?" Sky asked.
"I don't believe he can," Eon admitted under his breath.
"Oh, I saw some terrible things in that place. Or at least, I think did. They have a giant crystal orb that focuses energy. I fear they'll use it for evil. That seems to be their thing, you know. Evil and not bathing. Phew," The Molekin explained.
"Ew," Sky groaned. Why did bad guys have to be so smelly and gross?
"That's it! That's the Crystal Eye we need to rebuild the Core!" Hugo declared.
"Then that is where we must go," Eon declared before turning to the Skylanders. "Recover the orb and return it to the ruins!"
"Of course, the downside is that you will inevitably have to battle the Cyclopses, so be careful," Hugo warned.
"They're not scary!" Sky protested. "Just stinky!"
"That's our girl!" Spyro declared.
"YEAH, SO HOLD YOUr NOSE!" The Molekin shouted, causing everyone to look at him again. "Meanwhile, I can take you there, no worries. I may be a little nearsighted, but since there's only one bridge leading to their castle, it should be a…a…"
"Piece of cake?" Sky offered.
"A SNAP!?" Hugo, well, snapped at the same time.
"Yeah, that's right," The Molekin declared, not saying who had the right answer. "But follow me!"
Sky looked around once they arrived at the castle. Just about everything was only one massive eye. Even the birds.
"Before I escaped, I was at the top of the castle. It was there that I saw something that made my normally blurry vision suddenly super clear. It must have been the Crystal Eye!" The Molekin, who revealed his name to be Diggs, revealed.
"That is a known power of the Crystal Eye," Eon revealed. "Anyone standing near it will have perfect vision."
"To get up there, you'll need to destroy the Two Seeing Towers in order to open the big gate," Diggs revealed.
"Alright! Let's split into two groups again!" Sky ordered the Skylanders, who all nodded or gave some form of agreement. Sky hit a nearby switch (shaped like an eye. Sky was beginning to wonder if this was an obsession) and the Skylanders began to set off, only for Diggs to run ahead of them, blocking their path.
"Oh yes! One more thing! And this one is VERY important! Once you get past the gate-" Whatever Diggs was about to say was cut off by him getting hit with a barrel, sending him flying.
"Get those Cyclopses!" Sunburn called out. Considering all the Cyclopses had to defend themselves were more barrels and there were only two of them, it was not hard to take them down.
"So…what do you think Diggs was gonna tell us?" Sky asked once they were finished.
"Most likely that there is a monster of some kind," Gill Grunt noted with a shrug. "Nothing we ain't used too."
"Right," Sky replied. "I know I shouldn't doubt you."
"Smart kid," Ghost Roaster noted with a smile as he ruffled Sky's hair, causing her to giggle. The Skylanders then split, each picking one of the paths.
"Should we go wait by the castle?" Sky asked.
"I'm not sure that is a smart idea," Eon admitted. "We are in far more hostile territory, so remaining in a safer location until the castle is open and defenseless."
"So, we're hiding?" Sky asked.
"Yes, but we are being smart. Not being cowardly," Eon explained. "Sometimes, there is nothing wrong with staying behind if you don't believe that attacking is a smart idea."
"Oh…okay," Sky said, still trying to process that idea. She knew that Portal Masters were valuable, but would it really be okay for her to always hang back. Sure, she and Eon didn't always go on missions with the Skylanders, but was it really okay.
"Still, I do not believe we will be waiting very long," Eon noted. Sky turned to see that one of the towers had already been shut off and the Skylanders had begun to make their way over to the gate.
"They're quick!" Sky marveled.
"Well…there are a lot of them," Eon pointed out. Sky giggled once again. Much like Eon had predicted, the second tower fell, causing several of the Skylanders to rush into the tower that the Crystal Eye was being held in. A few, however, remained outside to wait for their Portal Masters.
"Sorry everyone ran ahead, Master," Chop Chop apologized.
"It is alright, Chop Chop," Eon assured the undead knight. "They will most likely make things less dangerous for Sky and I."
"There's gonna be a lot of enemies in there, right?" Sky asked.
"Most likely not anymore," Sunburn noted as he glanced at the door. It was not hard to miss the sounds of fighting coming from inside.
"Well, no sense in keeping them waiting," Eon noted. Sure enough, there were dozens of unconscious or injured Cyclopses laying around, with the Skylanders all proudly standing around or dealing with the few they had missed.
"This is it, right?" Slam Bam asked as he held up the Crystal Eye.
"Indeed it is," Eon replied. He was quite impressed that the yeti could hold it by himself. Everyone took that as a cue to head out, where, surprisingly, Diggs was waiting for them.
"Wow! Amazing. Suddenly, everything is so much clearer," He marveled. He almost wished he could keep it himself. But he knew better. They needed it to stop Kaos. "Let's get it back to the ruins and add it to the machine."
"Uh, where did you come from?" Spyro had to ask.
"I walked," Diggs replied, causing everyone to share confused looks.
To the surprise of no one, the Crystal Eye fashioned itself into the top of the machine. After all, once they finished, the beam would be focused by the Eye. And they all longed to see it light up the sky once again.
Seriously, where the hell did Diggs come from at the end of the level? Whatever, not worth focusing on. Anyways, see you next time!
