Gamelover41592: I tried to make Sky cute. Got to get it in before the later games hit her like a truck
Matt (Guest): Yeah, you'll see how things play out when everything crosses over.
Tech-Star: Yeah I had fun with the title. And I'm happy Sky is your favorite, even if it does surprise me. Sky I feel like would be someone naturally very curious as a child, so I wanted to really focus on that. Also it makes the chapters longer.
"Okay, now what?" Sky asked as she returned to the Core of Light. After returning, Eon had made her go take a bath to get all the goo off. She had complained, but Eon remained firm. He had no idea what having the goo on one's body for a long period of time would do, so he wanted to stay safe.
"Now we need the Eternal Tech Source," Hugo revealed before turning to General Robot. "I don't suppose your military intelligence has found out where it is?"
"Don't insult me, son," General Robot warned the much smaller being. "Of course we have! Intel says that the trolls have the Eternal Tech Source hidden in their base! Unfortunately, they've already been using it to develop a slew of new weapons! That's why I'm coming along for support. Are you ready, soldiers?"
The answer was a unanimous yes.
Upon arrival at the location, the group wasn't shocked to find Snuckles was for them.
"Oh thank goodness you're here!" He greeted the group happily. "I was just about to…Nevermind. I'm not panicking. Well - kinda, but not really now that you're here!"
"Was he gonna run away?" Sky whispered to the Skylander closest to her - Voodood.
"Voodood thinks so," He whispered back, causing her to snicker. Turning back to Snuckles, they found him slapping himself.
"Come on, Snuckles," He declared, slapping himself again. "YOU can do this!" He then refocused on the Skylanders. "Okay, the trolls have overrun out defenses and our Command Team has been cut off! We have to get to them, but we don't have much time!" With that, he began to lead the Skylanders in the direction of where he believed the rest of his team was.
"Sky! Master Eon! You gotta stay behind us! This place is a warzone!" Terrafin warned the two Portal Masters as he punched away a troll. It wasn't that he didn't think Eon and Sky could kick butt (he certainly knew they could), but Portal Masters were pretty hard to come by. So to lose Eon or his heir was a scary thought, especially since Kaos was a Dark Portal Master himself.
Besides, most Skylanders weren't really meant to lead such a large group. A small group maybe, but the whole organization? Yeah, no.
"Sky, they are correct," Eon relayed to his daughter, much to Terrafin's relief. He knew Sky was a curious little bugger. "We need to stay behind them to ensure we survive."
"Fine…" Sky moaned, hugging her staff to herself. She wished she could get to fight. She was strong and she wanted to prove it!
"I promise you will get your chance one day," Eon assured her, knowing exactly what she was thinking.
"How did you-!?" Sky began to ask, only for Eon to give one of his knowing smiles.
"I'm your father. I know," Was all Eon had to say. Sky just looked shocked. Her daddy was good.
"Ho there Skylanders!" Rizzo greeted the group once he saw them arrive. "You got here just in time!" He pointed towards some nearby walls. From what the Skylanders could see, they were pretty well built and would take a lot of damage to bring down. "We need to get past their barriers, but we aren't having any luck. The good news is we've captured a troll stockpile - and there's a Mega Bomb in it!" He then pointed in the direction the stockpile was in. "Ha! Good news for our side! Bad news is that it's too heavy for any of us to move. Me included. Too many years spent planting flowers I suppose. Looks like a job for you guys!"
"Let's go! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Trigger Happy cackled as he headed for the Mega Bomb.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Boomer called out as he rushed after his fellow Tech Element Skylander.
"Should we follow them?" Sky asked.
"Just to make sure they don't blow each other up," Ghost Roaster said. "And believe me, it hurts to be the sane one there."
"Don't let it become normal," An utterly freaked out Hex ordered as the group followed after the two excited Tech Skylanders. By the time they arrived at the stockpile, Trigger Happy and Boomer had already begun to push the bomb towards the walls. The rest of the Skylanders decided to just let them blow it up.
"BOOM BOOM!" Trigger Happy gleefully exclaimed as the Mega Bomb blew the walls to bits. Now, even Boomer looked nervous. Rizzo, Nort and Snuckles then rushed over.
"OUTSTANDING!" Rizzo happily cheered. "Now get in there and…OH NO!" This caused the Skylanders to realize that something was wrong and looked inside the area the walls had blocked off. Inside was a massive tank.
"That is an impressive tank" Drobot marvaled. The tech genius dragon actually sounded extremely impressed. "I had no idea that the trolls were even capable of building something like it!"
"IT'S THEIR SECRET WEAPON!" Rizzo continued to panic, which translated to a lot of screaming. "The trolls must be using the Eternal Tech Source to power that thing!" The Skylanders and Portal Masters all shared a nervous look. This was the first time that a non-Portal Master actually managed to use one of the Sources for their own purposes. "You've got to destroy it! Then you can 'liberate' the Source yourself! Thumbs up!"
"Affirmative," Drill Sergeant agreed with the Mabu before turning to the other Skylander. "Requesting plan. Action required immediately."
"Bombs!" Sly eagerly declared.
"I like that plan!" Boomer happily agreed as he gave Sky a head pat, causing her to happily smile.
"Still, we need to be careful," Drobot warned, having just finished a scan of the tank. "It appears we can only damage the back."
"So we aim for the back with the bombs," Boomer recapped. When everyone gave him a look, he groaned. "Look, if we try to attack that thing up close, we're gonna get crushed or blasted to bits. We use the bombs they've got laying around, we can hit it from further away."
"Good plan, Boomer," Eon commended. Everyone looked shocked, especially Boomer himself.
"Really!?" He happily exclaimed.
"Indeed," The Portal Master nodded. "Fan out and try to collect as many bombs as you have. It seems like you'll need quite a bit." The Skylanders, shock completely gone, all nodded and headed out.
"And what do we do, daddy?" Sky asked, looking up at her father.
Eon merely smiled. "Watch the fireworks, of course." Watching Sky's face light up utterly delighted Eon. And with that, father and daughter happily enjoyed watching the Skylanders tear the trolls' shiny new tank to bits. They also managed to take out several sentries for good measure.
"Curse you Skylanders!" The troll who had been piloting the tank roared just before he was blown up.
"We got it!" Spyro called out, signaling to the Portal Masters that it was time for them to do their jobs.
While it took a few seconds, everyone was in awe at seeing the Eternal Tech Source finally begin to work its magic. All of the golden gears finally began to turn. Even the bottom of the core began to turn.
It almost made the fact that everything was getting darker less scary.
"Ya know, Glumshanks," Kaos began, still watching the Skylanders through his viewing portal. "Despite your colossal failures-exemplified by you mutton headily losing the Eternal Tech Source-I am feeling particularly optimistic. And do you know why?"
"No," Glumshanks replied, not even looking up from his tablet until he noticed a fly buzzing about.
"Because the Darkness is becoming even more powerful! It's spreading all over Skylands!" Kaos eagerly declared. "Soon no one will be able to stop it! HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Uh huh," Was all Glumshanks could muster as a reply this time, having become more focused on the fly, which had now landed on Kaos' head.
"You know what they say: Red skies in the morning, Skylanders take warning!" Kaos declared, not noticing Glumshanks getting ready to smash the fly via his tablet.
"No one actually says that," Glumshanks pointed out, only to be met with more laughter as the fly flew straight into Kaos' mouth, causing him to choke and fall off his portal.
"I swallowed a bug," Was all the dark Portal Master could say.
Next time, we head for the Land of the Undead…and some of my personal least favorite levels in the game. See you then!
