'Why are my eyes heavy? I can barely see!' Satoru or Momonga as some may know him was just playing his game on the last day. Then when the clock hit zero he felt strange, he felt like he was being picked up. He felt weightless yet comfortable in an odd way.
Then he finally saw them. His vision became a little more clear and he saw the face of a young woman. She was stunning, light brown hair and glowing green eyes. Then a man came into view, he had blonde hair and green eyes and smelt of some odd perfume.
"Hello there little Ulpa," The man said. The woman grew a satisfied smile now and looked up at the man. "He has that smile of yours already," the woman said in a sweet calm voice. "Yes he does," the man said growing the same calm smile as the woman.
'What is happening! Can someone please explain?' Satoru tried his hardest to say a word but nothing came out of his mouth, its as if he lost the ability to speak. "Awww I think he is trying to say he loves us,"
'Who are you people!' Satoru tried to scream but it never came out. The mother cradled Satoru now Ulpa in her arms and begin rocking him back and fourth. It was pleasant for the newborn, he even felt a little tired then.
"This is my first child and all but don't babies usually come out crying? He is oddly calm right now and not even worried."
"I think you are right but perhaps our little Ulpa is special."
The woman nuzzled the newborn up to her breast lovingly while still cradling the baby. 'I'm- no! I'm getting tired. Curse this new body, I must find out what is happening!' Satoru began moving his new tiny limps all over.
"Looks like someone is a little hyper," The mother said.
"Perhaps he just needs to rest for a bit. Let him waste that energy and then sleep it off." The mother nodded and focused on rocking her newborn. 'No! Not yet! Wait!' but Satoru slowly succumbed to the feeling of warmth, comfort, and love. Something he hadn't felt since his mother, well other mother, died.
It felt great and Satoru relaxed and sunk into the feeling. He drifted slowly off into a slumber of peaceful dreams. A dream of hope for a new bright future.
Back in Nazarick…
Albedo, Sebas, and the pleiades all knelled toward the throne where their beloved overlord sat. Then he disappeared and dissipated into thin air. Albedo's eyes began to tear up and so did everyone else as they realized what this means. The last supreme being has abounded them as well.
Then something zoomed out of the throne room and a box with the words 13 floated over the throne. Albedo stood up, "Is this a message from you Momonga?" Tears fell down her beautiful face as she slowly stepped toward the throne.
She reached out to try and touch it but her hand fazed through the box. "Sebas!"
Sebas stood up at attention and the pleiades followed. "Yes, lady Albedo?"
"Call all of the floor guardians except Gargantua and Victim her." She looked back with a slight smile on her face now. "This could be a message from Momonga, we must decipher its meaning quickly." She looked towards the pleiades now, "Go outside and check the surroundings, we must make sure we are secured during these tough times"
They all bowed and went off to do their separate task, leaving Albedo alone in the throne room. The staff of Ainz Ooal Gown floating beside it. She hovered over the throne trying to breath in Momonga's scent. "Did you not abounded us after all? Is this your way of telling us you'll be back?"
She took her place beside the throne imagining all of the days Momonga sat there, beside her. "Don't worry my love, I will find you. Even if I must burn and destroy everything until only us remained." She stood there until the door opened and a small petite vampire walked in.
It looked like she has been crying, "I heard a little bit," she said. Black tears dripped down her face and she tried to pat it with a handkerchief but it was already a lost cause. "Is it true that Momonga has left a message for us? Do we still have use for the supreme ones?"
Albedo nodded, "That is what I believe but I will explain as the rest come in." Soon the other floor guardians began filtering in one after the other. Aura and Mare came in with very depressed looks and Mare was even sobbing loudly as he did. Aura had red cheeks and wet eyes to show she must have been as well.
They didn't say much and stood a little to the side. Aura trying to comfort Mare to the best of her ability but it didn't seem to work. Next came in Cocytus who seemed more down than usual but tried his hardest not to show it. His fumes came out much more frequently as a sign of distress. He stood there silently waiting for their final member to come.
Next came in Demiurge with Sebas following behind. They were usually bumping heads with each other but today was not a day for such non sense and they both knew it. Once Demiurge saw the box a smile formed on his face. A smile of a demon who believed there was hope, hope that their master could return.
"Alright everyone! Let us get started," Albedo said. She looked at everyone and pointed toward the clock, "Does anybody understand what this means?" They all looked at each other before shaking their heads.
"I have never seen that in my life." "It. Is. A. Mystery. To. Me. As. Well." "No clue." "Never."
They had finished their thoughts before Demiurge stepped forward. Everyone's face lit up at that moment, 'Yes! Someone who knows!'
"I have never seen that as well," and then their faces shattered. "But I think I know what it is, perhaps it is a timer." They all looked at the box and nodded their heads in agreement. "But how long do you think it represents?" It was Albedo who spoke this time.
"We can rules out seconds and minutes. I think it represents a longer period of time, days, months, years."
"I thought the same thing, perhaps when it hits zero Momonga will return to us." Albedo's face flushed as she imagined running into her beloveds arms upon his return. Her hands clasped together like a prayer and she held it close to her chest.
Everyone else was also in their own little fantasy imagining their master returning and being ordered around. This moment of excitement was broken when the pleiades returned. Lady Albedo we can't go outside," the oldest, Yuri, said. They all bowed and apologized for failing.
"How could you not leave the tomb was their something blocking the entrance?"
"We believe so, we tried to break it but nothing we did budged or even made a dent in it." This put the two of the greatest minds in Nazarick thinking. "Show us!"
They were lead down to the top floor where a pure black object blocked the entrance. Albedo went up to try and touch it and eventually pushed on it but it didn't move. They all eventually attacked it but all of their attacks had no effect.
"Pe- perhaps this relates to the timer?" It was Mare who spoke. Demiurge nodded, "It must, perhaps when it hits zero this thing will eventually go away. What lays behind it though I have no clue of."
The floor guardians resigned to their floors and increased their defense just in case. They had the pleiades stationed near the black wall and were instructed to report any changes. Some of their subordinates were also stationed their to chip away at the wall but with no results. Albedo stayed near the throne, in her usual place, watching the clock.
Hoping it will hit 12 and imagining what will happen when it hits 0. Running into her lovers skeleton arms and embracing death himself. The one true god of Nazarick, Momonga. 'Perhaps I should visit Pandora's actor, but where could I find a ring of Ainz Ooal Gown? Such a glorious ring is not going to be easy to find.'
Back in the new world…
Ulpa or Satoru was in his new favorite lounging chair, his mothers arms. He nuzzled closer to her chest as his new father was talking to some man. He then handed over a potion with purple liquid and received a pouch in return. He threw it in the air and caught it in his palms before walking over to his wife. "Sorry I just had a last minute customer."
"Oh no I understand I'm just glad you were able to make it on time." Ulpa's mother was in a nice blue dress while his father was in brown noble clothes. "Don't you think its a little to early for a family picture?" His father asked.
"Of course not, I want one every year so we can see our little Ulpa grow up again every time we look at them." It has only been 2 days since Satoru has been reborn as Ulpa Lon Crosse Vin. From what he was able to find out his mother was a former adventurer, a cleric to be exact. She was the villages cleric and his father was an alchemist.
They lived in a small village and due to his parents job didn't have a farm to tend to. The house always smelt terrible due to his fathers lab down the hall. But to both of his parents surprise little Ulpa was very calm. Apparently his mother was a former noble and that's how he got his super long last name.
He had some baby clothes on that were a little plain in color but Ulpa didn't mind. No whining or crying, actually for the past few days he hasn't cried once. His parents were initially worried and his mother was constantly casting some spell on him before sighing in relief.
He realized quickly that he was in a place that has Yggdrasil magic. He recognized a few of the healing spells his mother would cast on some villagers. 'So basically I was reincarnated in Yggdrasil somehow? As a child no less!'
They traveled to the nearest big city and went into some building. It had a giant sign over top with strange signals that Satoru didn't understand. 'So I can understand them because they speak Japanese but they don't use the writing system? Strange world, actually are they speaking Japanese?'
'I've seen my parents mouths move when they talk and it doesn't match up with what they say. Is there something translating what they say in this world? Well if they can do that why not written words then!'
They went into some room where a supposed painter had a blank canvas with various paints beside him. In front of him there was a scene with a wooden house and a lit fireplace in the background, standard family picture scenery.
"Oh! A child, will he be a problem?" The painter said.
"No so far we haven't had a problem with him, I think he will be fine. If we do I have brought something to calm him down." His father then took out a blue liquid in a glass flask out of his shirt. He then put it back and took out a coin pouch and handed it to the painter.
The painter opened it and quickly scanned it before putting it aside. "Perfect! Please stand over there and I will do my work!" They did as instructed and the painter did his work on the family.
They returned to their small village and set it on the wall much to the dismay of Ulpa. He stared up at the new hanged painting from his crib in the living room. He looked around and saw a lit fireplace with his father reading a book in his chair by it. His mother was in the other room supposedly already asleep.
'Maybe this new life isn't so bad. I never knew my father from my old life and my mother died very young. This gives me a second chance in a world that is not polluted with loving parents. Not just that but Yggdrasil magic is a thing here!'
A small smile appeared on his face and his father put down his book and turned around just in time to see it. He smiled back and walked over to the crib. "Whats so funny little Ulpa?" Satoru had to admit the nickname 'little Ulpa' was embarrassing however.
His father picked him up and carried him into his room. His father rocked him in his arms until he drifted peacefully off the sleep. Once he was sure his child was in deep sleep he placed him down in the rooms crib lightly.
His father then went to the open window and looked out it before bringing out a clock in his breast pocket. He looked down at the strange device before putting it back, "A full moon is happening tomorrow night." He then closed the window and went into his and his wives room to rest.
