Title: Beginning to Believe
Author: Alysia
Summary: This is set in season 7's 'Brand New Day.' Okay, so on top of the very enjoyable (to me) relationship between Daisy and Sousa, I also enjoyed the growing bromance between Daniel and Mack. This is just my interpretation of that conversation. And then there's a little Dousy at the end.
Disclaimer: I don't own any characters familiar to Marvel. Also, I did include the conversation between Mack and Sousa while Daisy was napping in the season 7 episode 'Brand New Day.' Obviously, all those lines aren't mine.

When Director Mackenzie had said his name, Daniel Sousa immediately stopped speaking, remembering his order to preserve oxygen. He knew he was rambling, but he couldn't get over the sight before him. He was in space. Space! Something that was only dreamed of where he came from. How could he not marvel out loud? However, instead of the pair slipping into silence as he assumed they would, he was nearly knocked over by the words that followed.

As much as he wanted to use the quiet time and relax and possibly get in a cat nap before they confronted whatever situation they were walking into, Alphonso Mackenzie, or Mack as he was mostly known as, knew that wouldn't be happening. While Daisy Johnson napped in the area behind them, he figured this would perhaps the best moment to address his thoughts regarding the other man his former partner. Opening his eyes, he met Daniel's gaze. "What are your intentions?"

Intentions? Daniel blinked, completely caught off guard by the question. Was talking about Daisy? Of course, he'd noticed how attractive Daisy was from the very first moment he met her in his office back in Area 51. Of course, there'd been a fair bit of suspicion as well, but his initial impression had been there. Since he'd spent time with the team of time travelers, she'd been nothing but supportive of him and his predicament. They'd even shared a few lighter conversations since he'd joined them, but he always kept himself in check. "Sir?"

"With Daisy," Mack clarified. While Daisy still had moments when she acted on impulse, he knew that she was much more cautious with her heart. If they'd kissed, it meant something to her. He also expected that the interest was reciprocated, he just needed the verification.

So, it did have something to do with Daisy. Huh… Had he been so transparent? "I don't…have any intentions," he tried to excuse.

That was disappointing. Had he read the situation wrong? No, he couldn't have. He and Elena weren't the only ones to notice the mutual attraction between the pair. "Well, then you better get some. And quick," he added. "'Cause this thing is coming for you," he warned.

What was coming for him? "This…thing?"

Mack held back a sigh. Did he really have to spell it out? "She's into you."

Daisy was…into him? As in attracted to him? He knew they'd shared a few moments; dare he say even flirt a bit? However, he hadn't let his mind wander any further than that.

"And I'm not sure she even knows it yet," Mack continued, unaware of the other man's thoughts. He recalled his prior conversation with her, remembering the way her attention had fallen on the man in the pilot's seat. "But pretty soon, she'll figure it out. And when she does…watch out. Because when she gets something in her head-"

"She won't stop," Daniel finished for him. They shared a mutual look over understanding about her character. "Yeah, I noticed."

"But listen," the dark man started again. "Daisy's been hurt." He watched his companion turn in his seat to look at the slumbering woman. "Bad."

She had? That was news to him. He never would have guessed. Though logically, he knew there was a possibility of it. Most people by their ages had at least one or two serious relationships under their belts. However, Daisy didn't appear to hold back. He recalled their lighter conversations and her easy words. He supposed they could have been interpreted at flirty, but he'd assumed that was just part of her personality.

When Daniel turned back to look at him, he continued. "So, I'm happy she's ready to dive back in." She deserved a bit of happiness. "And I'm happy it's you."

He was?

"I like you."

For a moment, Daniel felt proud that his character was appreciated. "Thanks."

"Even if you are little," Mack made a gesture with his hands, "straight ahead."

The former West Coast Chief frowned. Even if? The words were spoken as if they counted against him. "Wait, is that bad?"

"But I'm not about to let her get hurt again," Mack declared, not answering his companion's question. "You hear what I'm saying?" Did he understand the unspoken threat behind his words?

100% He understood the man's meaning. "I think so," Daniel admitted hesitantly. "I think…you're threatening me…sir."

He certainly was, but it was so much more than that. "No, not just me." He spoke for the rest of the team as well. "Every member of this team," Mack confirmed, making sure Daniel was aware of it as well. "And we have technology at SHIELD that you've never seen."

Not wanting anymore threats, Daniel spoke up. "I hear you," he acknowledged. "Loud and clear." He would have left it there, but it was obviously an important topic to Director Mackenzie if he brought it up. He needed the other man to know that he wasn't the sort of man to leave broken hearts in his wake. "I would never hurt her," he denied in serious matter, even though he hadn't decided to officially make a move on Daisy.

Mack searched the other man's face, taking note of the sincerity behind his eyes. No, he supposed that he wouldn't. He nodded then, letting Daniel know that he accepted and respected his words. Though there was no spoken understanding between Daniel and Daisy yet, he figured it would only be a matter of time before there was. Exhaling a breath, he turned his attention back towards the view out the window before them. "Imagine that," he mused. "The man out of time and Quake…" he trailed off as he pondered over the pairing.

He'd been following along until the term 'Quake.' He knew Director Mackenzie was referring to Daisy, but Quake? "Hold on, what'd you just call her?"

Mack repeated the name. "Quake. It's uh…her superhero name."

Quake? Really? That was the best she could come up with? "Really?" His companion wasn't having one over on him?

"Yeah."

Again, really? "Quake?"

"Mmm-hmm," Mack affirmed.

His companion appeared completely sincere in his response, and he couldn't help but wonder in fascination. "Do you not hear how hilarious that sounds?" Or was that just him since he was new to the group? "Quake!" He exclaimed dramatically, chortling as he did so.

Mack chuckled along with him. "I do now," he admitted still laughing.

Daniel continued. "Quake," he teased again. How did they not realize just how off it sounded? Too bad Daisy was asleep, he couldn't wait to tease her about it. How had he not heard of it by then? "Of all the monikers out there, she chose that one?"

"Actually, she didn't. The press did, Daisy just never addressed it," Mack clarified, sobering up a bit. "When she first got her powers, she couldn't control them. When she lost control of her emotions, she'd cause earthquakes."

Daniel frowned. "Sounds scary," he admitted as the amusement ended.

"It was," Mack confirmed, thinking on those first few weeks. "We were all a little hesitant when it came to them," looking back, he still felt a flash of shame for the way he reacted to her…to her powers. "May did her best to teach Daisy some breathing techniques in order check herself, but there were a few times where she just couldn't…in which case, she would use an icer on herself."

Daniel recalled Coulson using the same thing on him and the major headache that followed. "The same thing used on me at the Roosevelt?" And she'd done that to herself voluntarily?

As if sensing where the other man's thoughts were headed, Mack nodded. "She hasn't had the easiest time of things." He Watched Daniel look back at the slumbering woman once again with a contemplative expression on his face. "That woman though…she's resilient." He considered the situation his companion had faced along with Daisy when they'd been taken by Malick. "But I guess that's something that you've seen firsthand."

A shadow crossed over Daniel's face, recalling how helpless he'd felt while Daisy was being dissected by Malick that day in the warehouse. After the war, there'd only been a handful of times where he'd ever felt so useless. If he could have spared her the from the harm, he would have gladly taken her place.

"Something like that can completely change the course of someone's life," Mack acknowledged, recalling Daisy's former experiences first with the Doctor and then with Fitz. "Jiaying, for example. When we met her, we didn't know that she'd already lost one daughter. But after Daniel Whitehall's despicable actions against her and Daisy being taken…she was different, cold…calculating." He sighed. "At least when it came to humans."

"Considering Daisy's hesitation when it came to her own mother, I'm guessing that she was that way with Daisy too," Daniel said, remembering how he'd had to prod Daisy when it came to even speaking with her after Jiaying and Gordon had been summoned to the Lighthouse.

Mack exhaled a deep sigh. "That doesn't even begin to cover it," he admitted. "It was good of you to persuade Daisy into talking to her."

He'd pushed her. Maybe he should have listened to Daisy's rebuffs? "If I knew the particulars, maybe I wouldn't have pushed her so hard."

"You did what none of us would have been able to," Mack told the other man. Having been witness to the events that unfolded on the Iliad, none of the team would have dared to urge Daisy to spend time with any version of Jiaying. "No matter how short of time it was, she finally got to see the version of her mother that she always imagined she was."

He hadn't realized just how precious a moment she'd experienced. "I'm glad she had that moment," Daniel offered quietly. It certainly sounded like she deserved it.

The day he met Daisy in his office, he never imagined the crazy journey he would find himself on with her and her team. When it appeared that he wouldn't be returning home, he attempted to make himself useful to the team in whatever way he could. His first action had been joining the team off their time machine as they searched for Enoch. At the time, he'd still been dealing with the fallout of being pulled out of time and mourning his prior life. Throwing himself into a situation made it just a little easier to swallow. Daisy had taken him under her wing, making a point to never stray too far as they made their way to the second-hand clothing store. She'd even taken to teasing him a bit, something that hadn't been done since he was sent out to Los Angeles. Between her near constant presence and willingness to (mostly) deal with his questions, he found himself almost revolving around her.

After Wilfred Malick appeared at the Krazy Kanoe, Daniel had taken to remaining in the shadows, as best he could. Agent Coulson had warned him to lay low since he was 'kind of famous' and he'd taken the warning to heart. However, when he watched Daisy try to extricate herself from Malick's son's presence while the man simply stepped closer to her, he immediately stepped up to the pair. He hadn't known if his presence would be appreciated, but she'd easily played along with him, when he called himself her fiancé.

Following Daisy the day that she attempted to hack into the cameras at the Lighthouse had been another one of his attempts to step up. It had quickly become apparent to him that Daisy appeared to usually work alone, but for whatever unknown reason, he volunteered to join her that day. And he was relieved that he had. For as awful a situation as they found themselves in, he honestly didn't know if she would have survived if she'd been out on her own. He still didn't know everything the team had faced but because he met them while they were time traveling, he knew they must have faced several situations through the years. She had an amazing ability, which meant that she was probably put on the front line in most situations. He supposed that her team was used to it, that they had no qualms because she could usually protect herself. But that day… It was one that he knew he wouldn't forget anytime soon. She'd endeared herself to him and he knew that he would have done whatever he could to help protect her. Or maybe it was because he was reminded of another strong woman that he once worked closely with?

Then again, that last thought didn't sit right with him. While both Peggy Carter and Daisy Johnson were strong women, that really was where the comparison ended. Peggy had to prove herself at every level, even when it came to her life outside of work. However, Daisy didn't have to, and that was due in part to Peggy and the female agents that came before her. But there was a peace within Daisy that Peggy hadn't had at least not as long as he'd been a part of her daily life. Unfortunately, he couldn't rightly say if she'd ever found it as their friendship stalled when their relationship ended. Though he hoped she had. When they made it through the situation, and he didn't doubt they would, he made a mental note to look her up and see how her life turned out.

Of course, that would be on top of catching up on sixty-something years of…everything. He knew that once they reached their final destination, he was going to be up to his eyeballs in just about everything. How much time would he have to spend playing catch-up before Director Mackenzie assigned him to something? He hadn't been too shabby of an agent at one time, it was why he'd seamlessly transitioned from the S.S.R to S.H.I.E.L.D. But with all the advancements in weaponry and technology since 1955, would he be able to catch on quickly enough?

"You're wearing a severe frown," Mack pointed out, noticing the slight frown and deep wrinkles on Daniel's face.

"Just…thinking about the life I'm leaving behind," he admitted with a heavy sigh.

Mack pursed his lips and nodded once in acknowledgment. "I was wondering when you were going to get around to it," he confessed, having expected it sooner.

"Don't get me wrong," Daniel began, wanting to excuse himself before he came off sounding ungrateful. "I mean I'm alive because of your team, but I just…I'm thinking about the people I'm leaving behind."

"I get that. I can't imagine that any of this has been easy on you."

Daniel snorted in response to the words. That was putting it lightly, but he chose not to comment on them. "And I guess I'm wondering where I'm going to fit into things when we make it back to your time."

"I suspect you'll carve a spot out for yourself and be just fine."

"With the team?"

The Director hesitated then, unable to say what they were going to find when they made it back to their time. "Daisy seems to think that the team is in for some changes."

"And what do you think?"

Mack gave himself a moment to ponder the question. Since Enoch had been the one to predict it, he couldn't find much in the way of denial. "This team has been together a long time and the idea of not having that anymore…" He trailed off with a sigh. He'd tried to play it cool during his conversation with Daisy, because he knew that she needed the reassurance at that moment, but it did bother him, more than he cared to admit. Daisy was like a sister to him, and he couldn't imagine not seeing her on an everyday basis. He couldn't imagine not seeing Jemma in the science lab. He also didn't relish in the idea of running SHEILD without Coulson and May around to help guide him.

"You've been fortunate to have that," Daniel observed.

"You didn't?"

The man out of time sighed and gave a half-hearted shrug of his shoulders. "No. I suppose one could say that there was the potential for it," he admitted after a thought, "but it never really came to fruition."

A frown pulled at Mack's mouth. Agent Sousa had slipped right into a spot on his team. There were still a few moments where he needed an additional explanation on things, but for the most part, he'd fit in quite well. How had it been for him in his time?

Figuring he'd left too much unsaid, Daniel offered some more insight. "A lot of the other agents in the New York office looked down on me because of my leg and on Peggy because she was a woman. It took a while before they were able to see us on par with them." He wasn't one to hold grudges and knew that he wouldn't have held their previous misconceptions against them, but before real friendships could form, he was promoted. "And then I was sent to run the Los Angeles office."

"And that put you on an entirely different level," Mack finished, knowing how that felt.

Daniel nodded slowly. "When Daisy and I were looking to purchase clothes in '73, she was teasing me."

Mack smiled, that certainly sounded like something his former partner would do.

"It was the first time in a long time that a co-worker had done that," the former West Coast Chief admitted. He almost forgot what that sort of comradery felt like. Unlike some of the insults once hurled at him during his time in the New York office, there'd been no malice behind her words. She didn't hold anything back from him, but she remained sincere and even sympathetic to the position he found himself in.

"Yeah, it's nice to have that someone in your life," Mack acknowledged, thinking on his own experiences. He couldn't always tell Elena everything he was dealing with, but her presence certainly made his life just a little brighter.

Hearing the boisterous conversation and chuckles echoing through the hall, Daisy Johnson exhaled an annoyed sigh and threw her head back against the hospital bed she'd been assigned and ordered to remain in. She hated not being part of the conversation that the rest of the team was no doubt enjoying. Enoch's warning echoed in her ears, and she wanted to make sure she didn't miss any more time with the group while she had a chance to be with them. She had half a mind to disobey Jemma's orders and join them. However, dealing with Dr. Simmons wasn't like dealing with Jemma and she was sure she'd be sent back to medical as soon as her friend spied her.

Her attention fell on the healing chamber that her sister was currently unconscious in. Her sister. She didn't know why the idea of a sibling was such a foreign idea to her. With Jiaying's powers, she didn't even know how old her mother had been before their final confrontation on the Iliad. However, considering her mother had been a young woman during the second world war, why couldn't there have been other children? Given the circumstances behind Kora's death in her timeline, she understood Jiaying not mentioning her, but had there been other children? She supposed that she'd have plenty of time to find out more about their mother, once Kora woke up.

"You up for some company?"

The inquiry pulled her from her thoughts. Turning towards the door, she smiled at Daniel. "I was just debating with myself if I should escape the medical bay or not," she admitted. "You are a welcomed distraction."

"We can't have that, can we?" He asked, referring to her mention of an escape. "Not happy about being here, huh?" Guess he couldn't blame her.

"I feel fine," Daisy sighed. "Honestly, I feel better than fine." Usually after using her powers in such a way would completely drain her and it would take days for her to recover completely. She could only assume that it had something to do with Kora's power.

"Maybe," Daniel allowed, "but you were exposed to radiation. Not mention, you were dead for a few minutes," he tacked on quietly.

Daisy sighed. "Yeah," she muttered, feeling thoroughly chastised. She knew that everyone was concerned for her.

"It could be worse," Daniel began. "You could be stuck in the healing chamber again…"

"Because I haven't spent enough time in there," she murmured. Another round of laughter echoed through the halls, and she huffed.

Daniel watched her reaction. "You're mad that you're stuck in here while the others are-"

"It's not that I'm mad," she interrupted. "I just…Enoch told me that the team is no longer going to be a team and…" she pursed her lips as she considered the best words to use. "Growing up in the system, I never stayed anywhere very long. For me, home isn't a place, it's people…these people." she confessed. "They have been a part of my life for so long and the idea that I'm not going to see them every day…it…scares the hell out of me."

He offered her an understanding smile. "I get it."

"I guess I just want to embrace all the chances that I have to spend time with them before we all go our separate ways."

"You'll still have a chance to spend time with them and say a proper goodbye."

She winced. "Daniel, I'm sorry," Daisy found herself apologizing. "I didn't even think of how callous my complaint must sound to you considering the situation that led you to being here."

"I wasn't trying to throw it in your face," he denied instantly. "I was hoping you would find comfort in the words."

"I know you weren't, but I'm still sorry." She watched him nod at her with acknowledgement. "Surely, there must be something else you could be doing right now."

"I can leave if you'd like," he offered then.

She rolled her eyes in response to his words. "You know that isn't what I meant," she denied. "Haven't you already been forced to spend enough time with me while I recuperate?"

"I chose to sit with you all those times," he denied. "And I was hoping we would have a chance to talk."

Daisy's thoughts immediately turned back to their kiss. Her stomach twisted in anticipation. She'd been wanting to talk to him too, she just hadn't had any idea how to start it, but since he had… "Did you have any particular topics in mind?"

"A do, actually," he clarified. "If you're up for it, of course." He hadn't been sure of what he'd find when he sought her out if she'd be awake or not. He'd seen her for a brief time when her group returned to base. Those that had stayed at the Lighthouse eagerly met the weary group upon landing. Daisy made a point to search him out and nod in acknowledgment before Agent Simmons dragged her away with Kora towards the infirmary.

"I'm up for it," she confirmed softly, waiting for him to speak. However, when no words immediately followed, her attention was drawn to the frown on his face. "Is something wrong?"

"Just thinking about something Mack said."

Immediately, a ball of dread settled in her stomach upon hearing Mack's name. Whatever excitement she'd previously felt, changed to a bitterness that she hadn't been prepared for. She knew it! Mack's conversation with Daniel had pushed him away! She never would have supposed that he would give the 'shovel talk' to anyone, let alone Daniel. "Oh?" She hoped her words were enough of an inquiry that he would expand on his explanation. When he remained contemplative, she tried to smile. "He scared you off, didn't he?" Though if the look on his face was anything to go by, she didn't really need an answer. "I told him he'd come on too strong."

"You know about our conversation?"

"Mack told me when we were on our way back from our fight with Malick and Sybil." He'd spoken non-stop with her; she could only guess that it had been to assure himself that she was alive. "By the way, I'm sorry that he even did that. He had no right-"

"He cares about you and is just looking out for you," he interrupted, wanting her to know that he hadn't been upset with Mack's words. "And he didn't scare me off."

Daisy settled back in her hospital bed with a smile on her face. "He didn't?" She asked with just a tinge of hope in her voice.

"I don't scare easily."

Daisy nibbled on her bottom lip and fidgeted with the blanket resting over her lap. "I'm beginning to believe that," she admitted as she met his gaze.

He knew she'd used that word with a purpose. Believe. Considering everything he had seen since Peggy Carter's unexpected visit, he hoped that all his actions had proven that. Given the information in his file, Daisy knew some of the situations he'd face. But for Daisy, knowing and believing were two different things. "Good," he acknowledged with a sincere expression on his face.

Daisy felt her cheeks burn…not in embarrassment, but…excitement? She certainly felt that way. "If that wasn't what you were talking about, then what?"

"He said that he was happy that you were interested in me, even if I was a little 'straight ahead,'" he recalled. "It was almost like it was a bad thing…"

"It's not bad," she denied quickly. Yes, he could be a square, but it was an endearing quality…at least in him.

He arched a single eyebrow in response. "Aren't you always making a point to call me a square?"

"I suppose I do," she admitted in a soft voice. Yes, he was attractive, but he was old-fashioned, not that she could find fault in that since they took him out of 1955. He was also kind, (mostly) adaptable, eager, helpful, but he was kind of a dork. She vaguely recalled her trip to Kitson with Jemma and their ramblings while under the influence of those puffed candies. She had said she wanted her own Fitz. Was it possible that Daniel could be that person? "But I hope you know that I was only teasing you, I never once meant it as an insult, Daniel."

He nodded. "I know," he told her. He'd never once detected a mean undertone in any of her words or actions against him since he'd met her. Even when they'd met under false pretenses, she'd remained cordial and even apologetic after Coulson locked him in the holding cell that first day of their acquaintance.

"When you kissed me, was it a reaction to your conversation with Mack?"

Not dropping his gaze from hers, he nodded. "It was. I…you're a very attractive woman, Daisy. And it isn't just the fact that you're pretty, but you're an amazing person too. I think I've been attracted to you since the very beginning, but I wouldn't let myself really…think on it."

She tilted her head as she watched him sort out his thoughts. "Why?"

He'd grown cynical in several aspects of his life, romance being one of them. "I just didn't figure that you'd be interested in someone like me."

"Someone like you?" Daisy repeated, wanting him to explain further.

"Being such a square and all," he shrugged.

She offered him a smile. "Maybe I like squares more than I thought I would…"

He returned the smile but didn't comment on her words. Instead, he powered on. "I guess it's going to take some time for me to catch up on…"

"Everything?" She supplied for him when he stopped to search the right word to use.

"Yeah. I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with some of that."

"I would be happy to," she replied simply. "Though I suppose you may find more help on the internet. Of course, you'll probably need a guiding hand through that as well."

"I actually have a specific topic in mind," he replied. She raised both eyebrows at him in anticipation. "What is dating like in the 21st century?"

A giggle bubbled forth before she could help it. "Honestly, I have no idea," she admitted. "I'm sure you remember, life with SHIELD and all." The very unpredictability of it made relationships outside of work difficult. "Did you find the time to date?"

She certainly had a point there. Even though the SHIELD in his time was much more subdued than the examples he'd seen with this team from the future, he still spent many hours at the office or traveling from Los Angeles to Groom Lake. "Sometimes," he defended.

"Then that's more than me," she admitted with a frown. She began searching her memories. Sure, she'd spent time with Robbie Reyes. She'd found him somewhat attractive, and knew that it was reciprocated, but nothing was ever said on either side. They'd spent time together, but none of those moments could have been considered even remotely romantic, right? So, that left Lincoln, which would have been before Hive. Daisy quickly moved on from the subject of Hive, not wanting it to ruin her conversation with Daniel.

Her relationship with Lincoln had hardly been easy. Between his distrust of SHIELD and her returning to the organization, their beginning had been difficult. Lincoln had his own demons to deal with on top of that, which also created a chasm between them, and that was before she was possessed by Hive. However, no matter how difficult their relationship had been, he was her first true love. However, dates were few and far between. She couldn't even recall an exact, though she was sure it involved them grabbing a slice. Lincoln loved his pizza.

Daisy appeared to have lost herself in her thoughts. "Where did your mind go?" He was curious to hear her answer.

She waited for the usual sting she felt when she thought on her former love, but it didn't come. "Sorry, I was just trying to recall…I can't remember the last time I had a date. Like, a real date," she replied then,

"And what do you consider a 'real' date?"

She made a face at him. "It's been so long, the bar is set kind of low at this point," Daisy tried to joke. He returned the smile, but she knew he was completely sincere in his inquiry. "I…someone meeting me at my bunk, where we leave the base with the intention of spending time alone, together."

"Any particular venue in mind?"

She shook her head in negative. "Like I said, the bar is set pretty low," Daisy replied softly. "However, extra points will be given if I get to wear a dress and heels."

One side of his mouth lifted in amusement upon hearing her response. "I'll keep that in mind."

Daisy was found herself momentarily breathless as she took in the expression on his face. He really was very handsome and when he smiled like that, she felt flutters in her stomach. "Please, do." When his gaze traveled down to her lips before once again meeting her eyes, she licked her bottom lip. Was he going to kiss her?

Daniel watched his companion, pleased by the slight blush on her cheeks. He was glad to know that she was just as interested. He was tempted to kiss her, but her split lip stopped him. Instead, he reached for one of her hands. Encasing it in both of his, he raised it to his mouth and placed a kiss on the back of it.

She found herself feeling slightly disappointed by his actions, but knew it was probably for the best, at least at that moment. She pushed the thought away and decided to change the subject completely. "You know, I have to say, you've been a good sport through all of this. Between being pulled out of time, dealing with aliens, crossing timelines, jumping through time and time loops…you have been so…constant."

"When we met, you mentioned my dealings with Hugh Jones and the Council of Nine," he recalled, waiting for her to nod in acknowledgement. "How much do you know about Zero Matter?"

"Uh…nothing," she admitted, unable to recall anything about it.

"So, when I went to Los Angeles, I had no idea what to expect. Everything seemed to be going well and then Peggy Carter showed up." When he finished, Daisy began sharing her own story. The pair spoke into the early hours of the morning, parting only when Jemma came in, insisting that her patient actually rest for a few hours.

The End
