Walking to school felt like such an ordinary thing after he had been doing it for over a year, yet something about it still gave off a foreign feeling.
That was logical afterall, growing up Tanjiro never went to school. They weren't around back then, instead he sold Charcoal in a nearby village after he got old enough and that's all the work that was needed.
He reflected on how much things changed during the century he hadn't been able to follow, to be fair thinking back on those things really made the anger in him swell by a lot, but the boy had learned how to control his anger by this point. If he hadn't things could've gone a lot worse, especially considering what he had done while not in control of himself.
Tanjiro shook off his path of thoughts while he continued running through the streets, the school he attended was within walking distance which he was grateful for.
Although, what he'd expect to happen, happened.
As he arrived at the street he was meant to pass there was a crowd of people murmuring, a giant man-shark standing atop the bridge he'd usually run under.
Tanjiro sighed as his plans to arrive early had been ruined again, to be fair the old man had a point. Trying to arrive on-time in this world is a hassle when Villains can show up at the most inconvenient of times, it's not at all like those comics he'd written to stave off his curiosity and boredom.
So for the time being he joined the crowd and watched.
It only took a few minutes before a 'Pro-Hero' arrived on the scene, Tanjiro wasn't as fascinated with it anymore as he used to be, but the speed of response still amazed him.
The first time he saw a Villain and Pro-Hero in action he was stunned, completely at awe at the power these supposedly every-day humans possessed, but he's seen it so many times by now that it doesn't faze him a lot.
Though his classmates still commonly bring up fights when they appear on the news or get filmed, it's almost like gossiping the way they talk about it.
Tanjiro figured he was different in that way, he used to be a 'hero' at some point, slaying Demons had saved many lives after all. But Demons apparently don't exist anymore which means he's likely the only one of his kind now.
A few more Heroes arrived on the scene, one of them making a barrier of water to prevent anyone from getting too close to the fight. People seemed amazed by just that alone, but he wasn't. So he continued to watch the fight like the rest of the group until someone bumped him aside trying to get upfront, it didn't take long for Tanjiro to recognize the boy's scent and hair color.
Midoriya Izuku, one of his classmates. He knew from experience that the boy wanted to become a Hero too but he apparently was 'Quirkless', funny, how even in this superhuman society there are still normal people.
"It's a shame he gets ridiculed for being normal…" Tanjiro thought as he watched his classmate shuffle through the crowd further, he could soon hear the boy ask "Who's fighting?"
Yet it only took a second or so for Izuku to follow up, "Kamui Woods! The young and talented rising star!"
Tanjiro chuckled somewhat at that, he knew Izuku had a heart of gold like he did and the energetic nature almost reminded Tanjiro of himself.
The fight kept going in the background of course, it doesn't wait for someone to give an internal monologue and it seems like the fight is reaching its climax, Tanjiro could clearly hear Izuku's commentary on the process. 'Kamui Woods' then sprouted an enormous amount of branches at the villain before a female voice blared through the street, "Canyon Cannon!" it yelled as a literal colossus of a woman kicked the Villain square in the face, a short silence came before Tanjiro noticed the camera flashes go off.
"Today is the day of my debut, my name is My. Lady. A pleasure to make your ass-quaintance."
Tanjiro mentally facepalmed, the world changed a lot and there were many sides to it Tanjiro didn't like too much. Like these types of people.
Atleast the Villain was captured.
