Now on the move again, Tanjiro decided to reflect on what brought him to a world like this.

He remembered it clearly, how his sister became a Demon and how one of the Pillars, Giyu, had spared her and told Tanjiro to seek out Urokodaki. Training under Urokodaki was painful sometimes but needed.

Tanjiro's days as a Demon Slayer were full of fights that this society would call 'Heroic', he remembers his fight with Rui to be one of those. How he tried forcing Nezuko to become part of his twisted family, and even though Tanjiro had thought himself to be strong in the end Giyu saved him a second time.

He remembers fighting the Upper Moons, how taxing it was on his body back then. Those were real 'life or death' scenarios that he wouldn't be able to get out of with an in between.

He remembers seeing the Mechanical Doll at the swordsmith village and how it was based off of the same person that he got his earrings from, the same earrings he still wore to this day even in the new society. How he got his sword from damaging that Doll to much and how the guard of the finished sword used to belong to Rengoku.

Apparently he felt like the earrings were a trophy worth keeping after Tanjiro's defeat, but to think grabbing them during Tanjiro's escape was so easy. Almost like he wasn't even chasing him, even though Tanjiro didn't remember his escape attempt.

His mind skipped a few tender moments as he reflected on the battle with Muzan, how he cheated death many times during that fight and how so many of the Pillars were killed.
...How his sister gave up her chance to become Human again to help fight that monster, it worked in the end and Muzan was defeated.
But it wasn't the end of Demonkind.

Muzan happened to pass on his blood to a poor fellow Demon Slayer that survived the fight, a Hinoto that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He managed to survive obtaining all of Muzan's blood and logically became the second Progenitor, Tanjiro remembers Giyu's words, 'Everyone! The battle isn't over yet! If you're able to raise your sword and fight!'

But the second Progenitor escaped that day, and the Corps was forced to deal with the failure of finishing off Demonkind's only way to reproduce and regroup.
The new Progenitor was much more aggressive than Muzan was, Muzan as much as never showed himself, barely made an effort to seek out the Corps and eliminate them himself. But the new one wasn't like that.

Tanjiro remembers watching on in horror as his healing body was sitting on the Patio that night, Nezuko next to him humming contently, 'Nezuko… Do you regret your choice?' 'Sometimes… But I saved a few people, right?'

It was like a blur, the second Progenitor ambushed the Estate and devoured Nezuko right infront of me. He had overcome his primary weakness just like that, and it only went downhill from there.

First was Giyu, who had been turned into a Demon and simply assimilated when he didn't succumb to his Demon urges. He was able to reach us and warn us beforehand but we couldn't save him.

Then Sanemi, Sanemi was killed instantly, no chance to become a Demon, merely killed.
Then Mitsuri, she was killed instantly aswell.
Then Iguro, he didn't resist his Demon urges and was killed using some of Shinobu's leftover poison.
Then me.

He gave me a lot of his blood, wanted me to become the first step to reforming the Twelve Kizuki, I resisted him for as long as I could until he decided he was done with me.

He absorbed my cells, assimilated me too, it was agonizing.

...Then I woke up, apparently years later. Constrained by a 'Pro-Hero' as I could feel blood in my mouth, I had attacked someone like a feral Demon.
But these people didn't see me as one, merely someone suffering from the drawbacks of a 'Quirk', I played dumb. So they came to the conclusion I had partial Amnesia.

Tanjiro had been briefed on the world and how it operated and back then it really shocked him, it really did.

Tanjiro sighed, his mood dipped from remembering the nasty experiences that led to today. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder and he stopped walking, turning to the owner of the hand.

"Are you okay?" Tanjiro's classmate asked, Izuku. They hadn't been walking too far apart after the Villain was defeated and they continued on their way to school, "Yeah, don't worry about me." Tanjiro responded with a warm smile.

"Don't worry about me, not now."
