Silence had returned to the class as everyone was getting ready to leave, as Tanjiro was packing his things he could smell the emotions behind him. Turning to face the source there was Izuku with a flustered face, "T-Thanks for earlier today…" He said under his breath, clearing trying to not catch anyone else's attention.
Tanjiro smiled in return, he'd always help someone in need after all.
"Don't worry about it." He said as he waved an arm about, using his other to lift his bag onto his shoulder.
Then, Tanjiro decided to ask something he'd wanted to ask a few times before, never finding the right moment to say it, "Say, you're usually getting bullied right? Why don't we walk home together? Maybe that'll boost your confidence a little."
Izuku nodded and Tanjiro smiled wider, this behaviour somewhat reminded him of when he first met Zenitsu, while Izuku certainly wasn't as loud there was that sense of cowardliness coming from him despite the fact he wants to be a Hero, or was a Demon Slayer in the case of Zenitsu.
So they did just that, they walked the same path while chatting with each other. Izuku mainly kept going on and on about Heroes and All Might in specific.
It made Tanjiro laugh a few times just how adamant Izuku was about wanting to be a Hero, from the way Izuku was talking it was more than clear that he hadn't given up, which gave Tanjiro a feeling of accomplishment.
Though the two eventually reached a tunnel which separated their routes, as they went their own ways the two boys waved to each other before Tanjiro entered a sprint to return home, leaving Izuku to walk alone for the rest of his route.
Before leaving, Tanjiro managed to yell "Stay safe!" back to Izuku, as he had smelled something rather nasty closeby…
Tanjiro logically returned home without many obstacles, he was stopped by some faces he recognized from school a few times but they weren't malicious.
Opening the door to the shop the boy stepped inside as the entry bell rang alerting one of the shop's employees who turned to face the boy and smiled, "Ah, Tanjiro! How was school?" the middle-aged man asked, "The same as normal, although the teacher decided to tease us again. Telling us he wouldn't hand out Career Forms because he assumed we all wanted to be Heroes…" Tanjiro responded with a smirk, he couldn't really be angry afterall.
In the end, he had gotten the form after asking the teacher, considering he wasn't sure if he'd get into U.A. in the first place.
For now though, he decided to keep quiet about U.A.
So Tanjiro did what he always did, went to the upstairs apartment area and grabbed his Bokken, standing in the middle of his room and practicing basic swings.
Tanjiro wasn't simply going to let go of the skills he gained as a Demon Slayer, so training with a Bokken was the best way to make sure the techniques wouldn't degrade.
While he didn't have enough room to practice all the Water Breathing techniques or Sun Breathing techniques, he still practiced the ones he had room for, after all Tanjiro knew that if he was alive the second Progenitor is alive aswell.
And if the second Progenitor is alive…
Demonkind will show up again, sooner or later.
Tanjiro concentration was cut off when the door to his room opened, "Dinner is ready, Tanjiro. Are you coming?" Tanjiro's guardian asked, Tanjiro flinched for a second when he realized he lost track of time again, "Y-Yeah! Coming!" he yelled back, his guardian giving him a smile and closing the door.
The manager of the shop who doubles as Tanjiro's Legal Guardian, Nakajima Toshio.
A kind man who's Quirk wasn't very useful, it just allowed him to raise the temperature of nearby objects.
So the man simply opened a Butcher shop, taking in Tanjiro a few years after.
Tanjiro placed down his Bokken before leaving his room and heading to the living room where his 'meal' was already prepared.
To be fair, calling it an actual meal would break some health violations as Tanjiro's plate was merely filled with various types of Half-Rare meats, but Tanjiro had no room to complain about it.
So instead he ate in silence as Toshio turned on the television, to generally get an idea of what's airing. Tanjiro knew the old man was a channel-zapper that just wanted to find that one specific channel to watch for a while, he didn't complain. Televisions were still a little new to him.
News spreads fast in this day and age, so when Tanjiro recognized a face from school on the screen he gestured for Toshio to change the channel back.
A news report, another one in which All Might saves the day, the Villain in question was mostly made out of a muddy substance and apparently was able to hijack people's bodies.
None of that mattered to Tanjiro as he stared at the screen intently, until his guardian broke the silence between them, "Hey, aren't those your classmates?" he asked, Tanjiro silently nodded in response as he watched intently at the screen.
He had no reason to dabble in someone else's business but he just knew it when he saw Izuku on screen, "...He really tried to save him."
