It was nigh time again in Republic city, this time the starry sky was covered in thick layers of clouds. It looked like rain was inevitable but its not going to stop Mako and Bolin from further investigating the recent abductions.

They were in their patrol vehicle, heading towards a place where they were very familiar with. Bolin rubbed his chin before glancing at Mako who had his eyes on the road.

"So you're saying, the triple threats might be behind all of this?" Bolin asked.

"That's right." Mako told.

"How come?"

~ FLASH BACK TO LAST NIGHT ~

Mako was just about to leave his office when all of a sudden, a teenage boy ran to him for help.

"Sir, please help me. M-my girlfriend Ming!"

"Calm down sir." Mako told, holding the boy's shoulders. "What's the problem?"

"She's kidnapped!"

Mako stood there, looking petrified by what he heard. He immediately took the emotional boy inside the police headquarters to gain further information over the matter.

Mako and the boy sat inside the interrogation room, it was very quiet and the only sound heard in it was the broken sobs of the young boy.

"Listen, I know you're going through a lot right now but I need to know what exactly happened." Mako explained.

"Well, we just got out of school. I was walking her all the way to the bus stop. Then suddenly I got a call from my mom. She told me to get home quickly because my dad needed help fixing the car." The boy told. "I wanted to stay with her until the bus came but she said that she could handle it and told me to go home. And so I did."

While listening Mako made sure that got it written in paper.

"But after a few seconds, a white van came out of nowhere and two guys just dragged her inside." The boy told. "I did my best to ran and stop them but they were already gone."

"Did you see what they looked like?" Mako asked.

"Yeah, one of them was bald and his head was full of tattoos. The other guy was overweight and had blonde hair."

"Did they have anything written on the van? Something that looks familiar to any triads here in the city?"

"I couldn't tell but I'm pretty sure that the van didn't have anything on it." The boy told.

"Those are probably the same people who abducted another girl a few days ago." Mako muttered.

"Please detective, can you find her and make sure she's safe?" The boy told. Mako stood up, grabbed his files and walked toward the door. "Don't worry, I'm going to get to the bottom of this. I promise."

~ END OF FLASHBACK ~

"Oh man, poor guy." Bolin told.

"We're here." Mako said and parked the patrol car near a fire hydrant.

Mako walked toward the three story building and knocked on its steel door. A few seconds later, someone opened the little peephole and checked to see who was outside. Mako recognized the guy's eyes, it was none other than Shady Shin.

"Well well well, if it isn't the detective and his little brother." Shady Shin said. "What do you two want?"

"We have a suspicion that the Triple Threats might be involved in an ongoing case." Mako told.

"What case?"

"Kidnapping." Bolin said.

"What are you talking about? We ain't kidnapped nobody." Shin told, a scowl on his eyes.

"Okay, if that's true then let us in so we can have a quick and thorough check." Mako told.

"Hold on, I'll call Viper." Shady Shin muttered, closing the peephole.

The boys waited for a few seconds until the steel door opened. Mako and Bolin made their way to Viper's main room. Viper was sitting on a large chair with two toed Ping standing on his left and another of his gang members standing on his right. Viper tipped his fedora and eyed the boys entering the room.

"Nice to see a couple of former triple threats back in the rabbit-Mouse hole." Viper said.

"Is it just me or does it smell like rotten cheese in here?" Bolin asked, covering his nose.

"Oh that was me, you see I was cooking up some nachos when all of a sudden-" Two toed Ping was interrupted by Viper who was looking at with an annoyed face.

"I hear you think we kidnapped somebody?" Viper asked. "That's not how we work here. You see, here in the triple threats, we handle a couple of crooked dealings and whatnot but we ain't kidnapping people, not now not ever."

"Mind letting us check the whole place?" Mako asked.

"You can be my guest." Viper said.

Mako and Bolin split up and searched the entire building. They checked every room from top to bottom, the whole place looked and smelled like a dump. They checked the garage on the back of the building and found lots of Sato mobiles as well as a couple of vans and trucks. Mako went and checked every single one of them.

"You guys have a lot of vehicles." Mako told. "Especially some vans." Shady Shin only shrugged at him.

"We collect them, you know." Shady told.

"You mean stole?" Mako retorted.

"Well not all of them." Shady snickered.

Mako carefully examined the vans and came to the conclusion that none of the vehicles have not been used in a long time. And the colors of the vehicle did not even match what the witness have said. The triple threats were clean, well not exactly clean.

"I can't believe I'm going to say this but it looks like you guys are off the hook." Mako said.

"Told you so." Viper grinned. "Maybe next time you'll think twice about putting the blame on us?" With Bolin behind him, Mako just kept walking for the exit but before they left, he glanced back at the gangsters.

"Stay out of trouble and we might just do that."

When they got back to the patrol car, Mako was a bit lost in his thoughts. Bolin noticed this and asked him a question.

"What do you think we should do now since the Triple Threats aren't involved with the case?"

"I guess we'll have to check every triad in the city." Mako said. Bolin's eyes widened after hearing that statement.

"Every triad? Are you crazy? No offense, Mako, but I think that's a terrible idea." Bolin exclaimed.

"It's dangerous but I'm not going to let fear get in the way of rescuing those girls. So are you with me on this or not?"

"You know I always got your back bro." Bolin said, bumping fists with his brother.

"Good, then let's head over to the next triad hideout."

"Which ones?" Bolin asked.

"The Creeping Crystal triad."
