"I really don't see why you want me to keep an eye on that kid." A voice emanating from the depths of the alleyway spoke. The voice addressing a man that stood at the end bathing himself in shadow, merely glaring back at the person addressing him like they were scum, a mere animal, something lesser.

The man spoke back, talking in a tone that held everything his glare also held, "Because he's a problem, a thorn in my eye so to speak. I want him dead simply because he might very well be one of the last people that are a threat to me." He said, unmoving from his spot as he watched the person he saw as filth raise an arm, and allowing the flames produced to consume him.

As the flames died, he laughed. This wasn't the first time his 'henchman' had tried this and he doubted it'd be the last if all went according to plan, because he saw great value in these things they called 'Quirks', the things that made this society stand above the one he knew before.

"Dabi, how many times will you try that?" He spoke while his torched tissue broke itself off, making room for new fresh flesh in mere moments, restoring his charred body as if nothing had happened, "Each time it ends the same, you disappoint me. It's like you've gone insane."

"Shut up, you're the one giving me this shitty job in the first place, if I can't atleast burn something I might as well die of boredom around these parts. Atleast you pay." Dabi responded, a sneer present in his voice while he smiled the confrontation away.
"Besides, I don't see how that kid is a threat to you if my flames don't even leave a permanent mark on you. I think you're just paranoid."

"Dabi, I don't think I ever told you about who he is, did I?"

"That's exactly what I'm pointing out, about time you caught up."

"Then let me give you the basics… He was the one that stood up against my predecessor and landed the blow that he considered had killed him. That's why he is a threat."

"You seem to hold that predecessor of yours in pretty high regards, was he anyone special or something? Let me guess, some great villain that took pity in you."

There was a drone of silence, absence of a response fueled the air with uncertainty. Dabi didn't know what else this guy was capable of other than extreme regeneration, what weapons he could hold on his person.
It was like that from the beginning, when he was offered the job to keep an eye on a single person simply because this man had taken an interest in him. A spark of curiosity that made him want to see Dabi in action, and from what he could tell this man was so far not disappointed.
The man laughed, he knew Dabi was off. Far off.
"He never held pity for anyone, he was a monster at heart who's influence spread across Japan a long time ago, I simply hold him in high regard because he gave me what allowed him to be the monster he was."

"Let me guess old man. That guy you're talking about, Is he All for One?"

"No, I've personally never met him. He's rumored to be dead afterall. And there's no need to address me as 'old man', you may refer to me as Kibutsuji."
A sneer of his own, a smile that marked his face with a sense of superiority.
"However, I may have a job for you other than keeping an eye on Kamado Tanjiro, Dabi. Go investigate this group that calls themselves the 'League of Villains', their name has been popping up a few times. I'll pay you for your services, of course."
