"Peter! Glad to see you were able to make it" Harry Osborn spoke out when he spotted Peter walking into his living room, he was an 18 year old teen just like Peter, he was bigger than Peter, his body had more musculature and he was taller. It was imposing for Peter how tall he was compared to him and not to mention how handsome he was, Peter couldn't imagine just why Harry wasn't as popular as a guy like Flash Thompson.
"I couldn't let you down even if I tried" Peter chuckled and rubbed the back of his head as he looked around the place "Is Norman home or is he at another meeting like he usually is?" he couldn't lie, Norman was like a father to him at some points with how welcoming he is. This was like his second home, he and his aunt had been invited over for almost every holiday and the small donations he had made to keep them afloat.
"He won't be able to make it, after Stark decided to leave the weapons manufacturing industry he has been going crazy" Harry seemed concerned at a first glance, even if his father wasn't too present he was still his father and he cared for him. He then would snap out of it "Anyways, what are you in the mood for Peter? Pizza, chinese, hamburgers, maybe something else?"
Peter couldn't help but smile at how kind Harry was being, but something in the back of his head wasn't feeling right, he was proud and didn't like all that much to be helped just out of pity "I'm fine Harry, but if you want to order something how's Shawarma sound for you?"
"Sounds fine, never had it but if that's what you're in the mood for" Harry nodded to his butler, grabbing Peter's hand, he would pull the smaller teen over to the couch, Peter swore he was almost like an excited puppy when he wanted to play.
"What's the new one you wanna show me?" Peter looked over at Harry's stack of video games, trying to find a box he hadn't seen before, he didn't have his own console at home and he was eager to play with his best friend "Is it by chance… Red Dead Redemption?" Peter said as he eyed the game on a corner, he hadn't seen it before and assumed that was the one.
"Oh no, that came out like two weeks ago… plus I know your preferred titles are always the platformers" Harry excitedly pulled out a hidden copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2 "So ta-dah! I know your birthday is coming soon so I asked dad if I could get you your own copy of not just this one" then Harry would pull a copy of the first game "But the first one as well! And your own Wii" Harry smiled excitedly as he handed his friend the two games.
Peter couldn't believe it, the Osbournes had always been kind to him and his family, there were always some big birthday gifts but he had never been given any electronics. He pulled Harry into a tight hug, his arms wrapped tightly around the other boy "Thank you Harry, you didn't have to. I appreciate it so much" he felt tears trying to escape past his eyes,
"Don't worry about it Peter, I knew you always wanted your own console so I couldn't help myself and got it for you" Harry smiled as he held Peter close to him, he loved the sensation of warmth that the other boy brought into him. He loved to see him happy and he didn't know why, he wanted this moment to last forever.
Peter's smile quickly turned sour as he tried to let go of the hug, he didn't know why but his hands were stuck to Harry. He was enjoying the hug but he didn't want to be awkward, her took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down, slowly his fingers would unstick off of Harry "Thank you Harry, you really didn't have to"
"Nonsense, you are my best friend and you deserve the whole world, Peter" Harry proclaimed, but it was then that he noticed something peculiar when he looked over at his friend as his excitement died down. "Did you break your glasses again, Peter?" he looked over at Peter's eyes. "I can get you some new ones if you did, you know?"
"Oh! Nonono, it's fine Harry. I decided to try out contacts. Do you think they look good on me?" Peter smiled, he had a hint of nervousness in his smile as he tried to lie to his best friend, it was all so bizarre, first his glasses, now his fingers were sticky and he looked more fit. He needed to figure out what was happening and fast.
Harry recognized that look in Peter's face, he had something in his mind. He couldn't help but look at the boy in front of him thinking, trying to solve a problem in his smart brain of his "They look great. They make your eyes shine even more than before"
Peter snapped out of his train of thought, his cheeks would flush a soft shade of red as he heard the compliments "Thank you Harry" he stumbled slightly on his words, it was unusual that he would get compliments, he wasn't ugly by any means but when you have such big hitters at school like Harry Osborn, Flash Thompson, Bobby Drake, Seymour O'Reilly and some others; he was just outclassed.
"Don't sweat it Peter. I'm sure you'll get lucky and hit the jackpot sooner rather than later" Harry would chuckle, and hit Peter on his shoulder in a playful manner. He was sure of it, plus he saw something different in him, like a new fire on him "We have two months or so to work on making you a chick magnet, or dude magnet if that's your thing"
Peter's face would turn a deep red as he heard Harry say those words "I don't know Harry, maybe we are too young to think of this. I mean I wouldn't like to marry in these next five years, or at least I don't think I want to" He would lay back against the couch "We still have to experience things and we'll be ready when we are, that's what Aunt May always says"
"Don't be such a goody two shoes, you don't have to marry to have fun" Harry would look up at the ceiling "I mean, Tony Stark, Speedwagon, Bruce Wayne, Justin Hammer, none of them stopped having fun because they weren't married"
