Peter's brain was slowly losing focus of the class, professor Roger Harrington explaining the force of drag, but Peter could only focus on the police cars passing by the school. He knew that despite New York City being one of the top tourist destinations world wide, it was still a city riddled with crime.
His leg was bouncing up and down at a fast rate of speed, he felt like he needed to do something… No, he wanted to do something. His eyes trailing the clock on the wall as school was just about to be over.
As soon as the bell rang, Peter had already written the homework on his notebook as he made sure to slip away unnoticed. He felt guilty about not hanging out with his friends but he had to do something about the crime, so he would go to the rooftop of midtown high putting on his mask and putting down his clothes inside of backpack. He wasn't sure what to do with his backpack so he went off on instinct and tied it up to a water tower on top of his high school.
"I really hope no one notices that…" Peter thought to himself as he took a deep breath, using his web shooters to shoot at a building, he felt nervous as he pulled himself up with it. Using his increased agility and speed, Peter would run towards the edge of the building, jumping and swinging with the momentum he had built up.
He felt alive as the air would hit his mask, his heartbeat accelerating drastically as he let go off the web, he felt his spider-sense tingling, however it wasn't in a bad way. His hand almost as if on instinct was guided towards a nearby building, shooting his webs he continued his swinging.
"This is… way easier than I thought it was going to be" he couldn't help but think to himself as he swung around towards the source of the police sirens, he was a red and blue blur to people on the ground as he quickly made his way to the crime scene. Landing against the wall, he remarked how it hurt with his groan, he needed to practice his landings and sticking to the walls from a web swing.
He decided to sneak his way into the building where the criminals were making their robbery, it was a relatively small bank, they had hostages he noted. He was stuck to the walls making sure they couldn't see him.
"Oi, are you mates sure you two don't need any guns?" One of the thugs was wearing a cheap looking Paul Hogan mask, his hair behind his mask was blonde, he wore what Peter could see as stereotypical Australian park ranger gear.
"You are a mutant mate, you shouldn't need a gun if we don't" The other thug who was only wearing a beanie hat, Peter scanned him up and down, he seemed to have multiple boomerangs all over his trench-coat. He didn't seem to care to hide his identity from the cameras.
"Yeah, didn't you say one of your powers was durability?" The last thug said, he had a motorcycle helmet above his head, and wore ammo belts around his body that held boomerangs, just like the other one, his boomerangs seemed to all be different, some with mechanical things attached to them while others seemed mechanical.
"You guys should banter less and focus on getting the money out of here" Peter said using his webs to pull at the one he heard was a mutant, if any of them were a threat, Peter would bet it was him.
"Oi you cunt, let go off him" the one with the beanie cap would grab one of his boomerangs from his coat, it had a sharp end and a blunt one, he didn't aim it at the web like Peter would have thought but at Peter directly.
Peter had to dodge the boomerang, his spider-sense allowing him to dodge it with relative ease, he jumped to one of the columns of the bank, throwing another web at the one who had thrown the boomerang at him, the boomerang hitting the floor as it came back.
"Oi mate, we are not here to fuck spiders" the one with the helmet said as he freed the mutant with one of his own sharp boomerangs, throwing it at Peter as the Mutant grabbed him and bags full of money they had just stolen.
Peter didn't know what his aunt would think if he got back home with a wound on his chest so he let go of the other thug and did a flip in order to avoid the boomerang, his instincts were guiding him rather than him thinking about the flip.
The one with the beanie would grab a boomerang from his coat that made Peter's spider sense scream at him to get away, as he threw the boomerang, everything slowed down drastically for Peter as he would use his enhanced agility to jump towards the thug.
Peter would jump him square on the jaw, pulling his punch as to not kill him, he made sure he was knocked out but he heard the boomerang explode against the columns of the bank, he took a look at it to make sure it wouldn't fall on the hostages, he tied the thug with his webs and ran towards the other two.
"Come on guys, you don't have to be so violent" Peter looked around as he lost track of them, he knew they might try to ambush him but he wanted to keep his cheerful attitude "The least you can do is make sure everyone is smiling, you haven't even put a shrimp in the barbie"
As Peter said that, he felt his spider sense tingling, the one with the mask had tried to jump on him from behind "It's prawn, you bogan" the Man said as he punched towards him.
Peter instinctively dodged once again, side stepping but just as he did he felt a punch hit him straight on the ribs, it was a strong enough punch for Peter to feel it with his enhanced durability "What, not used to taking a punch, bloke?"
Peter took a deep breath as he looked at him "What's your power? Are you some kind of kangaroo man?" Peter joked as he used his agility to jump at a wall and kick the thug at the same time.
That clearly hit a nerve as the man would jump from column to column, building up speed as he would jump at Peter, attempting to hit him straight on the jaw with his built up speed "Shut ya gob, you cunt"
Peter would barely dodge the hit, but just as he thought the man had caught him off guard before, he felt his leg being grabbed, the kangaroo man had thrown him directly against one of the previous columns he had jumped from.
He had to stop this man, and as he looked around a solution came to his mind "Aw come on, you can't tell me you aren't liking the banter" he said, hoping the man would follow him and that he did. He was drawing the man around the room, webbing up column after column.
Peter had done some quick math in his brain because just as he jumped between two columns, he had managed to web the man up, trapping him with his own powers "Don't you Aussies know not to follow a spider?" Peter said before hitting the man the same way he had done to the other.
Before leaving to get the other one, Peter had remembered he had printed a few cards, he put one on the web "Courtesy, your friendly neighborhood Spider-man" the card read, it had a neat little logo and a spider-man signature.
And as he was going for the last thug, he heard a motorcycle engine start "Darn it, I took too long with this bozo" Peter ran out of the building, the last one of them had the money bags on him and was being chased by the police already. Spider-man would shoot a web up to a building and run after the police and the thug.
He would swing from building to building, quickly catching up with the chase. He didn't want to harm either the police or the criminal. "How do I do this? Oh god, I have never stopped a moving vehicle before" Peter thought out loud as he swung forwards, he knew the streets of queens just like the palm of his hand. So he decided to spring a trap just like he had done with the previous one, using light posts as the bases for his trap.
Now all he had to do was wait for it and the last one didn't even see it coming, he had straight up stuck to his webs, just like a fly "There you go officers! No need to thank me" He put one of his cards on the criminal before swinging away.
Peter took a deep breath as he landed on a building, stretching as he felt the pain from the hits he had taken, he knew that if he didn't have his spider-sense that would have been a much harder fight, he was lucky with this power but he knew he had a great responsibility to fulfill.
Peter's senses were tingling just like the last time had gone to the landfill, his head turning to the direction he felt that, to his surprise he saw what he could only assume were mutants, very big and turtle-looking mutants.
"Hey! Who are you?" Peter tried exclaiming as he ran towards them, he saw the four figures running into the sewer sections of the city. He couldn't follow them in there, at least not without an excuse for May for why he would smell. He would have to do it on a later date.
So he decided to look around this part of Brooklyn for any way to help people, he knew that his responsibilities didn't just include stopping robberies. He had snapped a picture in his cellphone of a cat that went missing, he knew their owner would miss them and this was one of the opportunities to do a good deed.
"I wonder where a cat named Andrew Meowfield could have gone to" Peter thought out loud as he sat on the edge of an apartment building, it was then that he heard a tiny meow come from under a car.
He would jump down the building and land in front "Andrew Meowfield?" He would tilt his head as he would kneel down near the vehicle. A small brown cat came from under the car, it was shaking and looked like it was starving "Don't worry little guy"
It was then that Peter would snap a picture of himself with the mask on and the cat by his side, sending it to the number attached to the picture. "Your friendly neighborhood Spider-man here, where do I meet you to drop the cat?" he typed to the person who would receive his message.
Peter would receive a message with a direction a few minutes later.
"Oh my god. Thank you so much for finding my cat, I can't believe you found him" the person replied, Peter knew how much a pet could mean to someone else, so he grabbed the little thing and started swinging a bit slower with the thing on his arms, he wasn't used to swinging yet and much less with one arm but his spider-sense helped a whole bunch.
Eventually he would make his way to the location where a lady who Peter could only describe as a MILF, he always tried to be respectful but sometimes his teenage hormones would win, the lady was at least a decade older than him, a redhead with curves from age, she reminded him of his aunt. Especially with all the remarks Harry made about her, how much he annoyed Peter when he called May a MILF.
"Oh my god thank you for finding him" the lady smiled as she grabbed the cat, handing Peter a plastic bag full of cookies, he recognized that they were red with web patterns just like his suit. She looked at him up and down before entering her house "My name is Valery… Come here tomorrow and we can have some coffee" she would wink at him.
Peter would shake his head "Oh no need Miss Valery, I appreciate the cookies but this is just my job as your friendly neighborhood Spider-man" He couldn't help but blush under his mask, but he knew she couldn't see it. He felt a bit more confident now that his reactions weren't seen. He might take her offer.
He took a deep breath as he swung around, it was his first time getting hit on. At least the first time that he thought he was being hit on, it must have been his muscles under his suit he thought.
Peter took a deep breath as he kept swinging, he was near Queensboro, he loved that bridge but it was always a hard drive, it simply didn't receive as much maintenance as it should have and while he didn't think was worse than say the bridges connecting Gotham to Brooklyn and Staten Island, it was a dangerous drive. Then again every drive was dangerous, Peter knew the statistics.
And just as he had thought, one of the daily crashes was about to happen, it was getting late and people were coming back from work, they must have been just or even more tired than him. A minivan was just going fast enough to ram against the railing of the bridge, it was about to fall down but Peter did what he thought was the smarter course of action.
Peter connected two webs to the minivan's nose and the bridge, moving back to pull the thing back with his super strength, just enough so that it wouldn't fall but the hit had clearly broken the engine "Hey! Get out, I am not entirely sure how stable this is" Peter yelled as he pulled the car as hard as he could.
Out of the car stepped a man carrying his daughter, he seemed relatively calm and collected, he got as far away from his car as he could before turning to Peter "thank you so much, you saved my world" the man held his daughter so tightly, Peter could swear he was panicking if not for how calm he looked.
"Nothing to thank me for, I'm just your friendly neighborhood Spider-man" Peter couldn't help but smile at how happy the man looked with his daughter, he couldn't help but remember how loving Ben was with him. It was a long day and he needed a rest
