Chapter 2
Tom Riddle, parted his hair and looked in the mirror, to see the refection of the man he hated.
Tom riddle was not a saint he was a Slytherin and all of them must survive in a castle that did not favor those that came from the great house of Salazar Slytherin himself.
Hogwarts was his home, his only home he thought bitterly.
Adjusting his hand- me - down robes, he made from the prefect's cabin to pass through the Slytherins cabin only to see the rare sight of Remigius Lestrange reading a book.
He rolled his eyes as he realized the book was upside down and behind it was a magazine. He didn't need to look twice to know what kind of magazine it was, the ones that had muggle women dressed in very small and unappropriated clothes, another reason to hate those muggles, he didn't understand love, nor did he understand lust, to lust for someone's physical appearance was stupid.
In all honesty, when he was in the orphanage, he was hopeful that some distant relative might come and take him away from that hellhole they called orphanage.
Hopefulness, anger, disgust, cruelty, obsession were the only emotions he has ever felt.
The train stopped and tom made his way on the carts, the skeleton horse like creatures disgusted him but at the same time fascinated him, how does it work that as soon as you see death they just appear in front of your eyes.
Making his way to the great hall while avoiding Walburga was acrostic task. So was avoiding the eyes of the stupid female population, if half of them studied and weren't surrounding him all day god knows he might allow those filthy beasts the opportunity to be closer with him.
He makes his way on the Slytherin table, the sorting Tom doesn't pay much attention but politely claps whenever a Slytherin is sorted. He could see only one child when he sees something rather someone that catches his eyes. Amongst the few children getting sorted he can see a girl that looks way older than the rest of the 1st years. He can only see some dirty blonde hair, not her face.
"Her hair is disgusting" he hears someone say.
"Luna Dumbledore" Professor Merrythought calls out
A Dumbledore, how is that possible, Albus Dumbledore had a brother who dies very young, so the girl either was his own daughter or a very distant relative, he didn't believe any of them. He watched as the hat talked with her, wondering what was taking so much time, he could hear some muttering, "hatstall" they said. The girl was sorted in Slytherin and he could see that she didn't belonged here and wasn't happy with the decision, he knew that much for sure. The girl a hatstall, the first one after Minerva McGonagall in 7 years. The girl's features were not recognizable from far away but Tom expected her to have blue eyes, a common trait in the Dumbledore family.
She skipped to the Slytherin table. Skipped, did she not have any manners as she appeared closer to the table, he realized that the girl was wearing a necklace, that appeared to be made of butterbeer cork.
"her earrings are made from dangible plums, who does that"
"I don't like her already"
Tom waited for the feast to start till he approached Miss Greengrass and Druella.
He was about to interrupt and introduce himself, when he heard them talking about him.
"A token of our friendship, Well I better get going don't want to make Tom angry" Druella said worry evident in her eyes.
Tom felt rather satisfied that she didn't wanted to make him angry.
"Who is Tom" Luna asked curiously?
He wondered what they'll tell her about him, what is happening to him, why does he care.
"Well not to exaggerate Tom is the best student to grace Hogwarts, he is rather handsome too, perfect grades, swoon he isn't into blondes, he thinks they are all stupid, he prefers ravens" Margret said, Luna noticed that by now Margret and Druella were blushing.
Being the perfect person was tough tom thought.
"reminder he is out of limits"
"Why" Luna asked, "tom sounds like a marvelous person".
Tom felt pleased, if only he could convince her to join his side, he'll have Dumbledore- that old croon in his grips.
"You both like tom don't you" Luna said it was not a question but a statement.
Perhaps -
Druella opened her mouth but Margret's voice stroke faster than hers.
"Is it that obvious"? she asked worriedly, she heard Druella snort as she tried to hide her amusement.
So unladylike, such manners for a pureblood.
No Luna lied she also added I am just good at reading people.
A good trait, we'll see if she can read me out.
She narrowed her eyes "what is Tom's surname"
You will be disgusted, not interested at all in this conversation, he left.
He had a sinister thought.
Luna Dumbledore was a mystery, a puzzle.
He'll gladly join on the pieces, savor the victory.
And he'll destroy her one way or another, just because he could.
AN: I am back after so long, this was such an interesting chapter to write for me, I really hope I captured Tom goodly. Honestly this chapter is here so that if someone is reading this, they might think not this is abandoned.
Next chapter Luna's point of view, first day meeting riddle etc.
