Amber stood in her bedroom staring at herself in the mirror making sure she look absolutely perfect. Kelly and her had become inseparable since the other day. She was wearing a pair of dark denim skinny jeans, pair of black heels, and her top was neon pink flowing tank top.

Amber heard the buzzer signaling someone was at the gate. Amber rushed down stairs to open it and let Kelly in. He was right on time. Kelly pulled up to the house. He got out of his car walked up to Amber he was standing in the front doorway.

"Hey beautiful."

"Hey handsome." The two leaned in for a kiss. The kiss soon turned into a heated make out session. Kelly pinned Amber's body against the front door closing any space there was between them.

The feeling of being pushed against the door and feeling Kelly rubbing against her sent chills down throughout her body. They finally broke away from the kiss and had their foreheads pressed together trying to catch their breath.

"You know we could just stay in?"

Amber playfully smacked Kelly's chest. "I didn't get all dressed up to just sit at home Kelly Severide."

Kelly laughed. "Alright alright let's go."

Kelly took Amber's hand and led her over towards his car. He opened the door and let her slip into the passenger before going to get into the drivers seat.

"So where are you taking me Severide?"

"You'll see." Kelly gave her one of his mesmerizing smiles.

The drive wasn't very far from Amber's place. Kelly pulled up outside Geja's Cafe. Amber smiled. "You spoil me."

"Anything for you." Kelly got out of the car and went opened Amber's door so she could step out. The two then headed into the restaurant to enjoy a night just them.

After dinner they took a walk around Lincoln park just talking and enjoying each other's company.

"So why did you join the fire academy Kel?"

Kelly held her hand as they walked. "My dad's a firefighter. He left my mom and I when I was little. He has this habit of coming and going as he pleases. I want to prove I'm better than him."

Amber moved in closer wrapping their arms together so she could lay her head on his shoulder as they walked. "But do YOU want to be a firefighter? If not for your dad would you have chosen a different career?"

Kelly fell silent. No one had ever asked him what he wanted to do. He just always chased after his dad and tried to prove he was better than him. "I'm starting to learn how to restore boats. And I quiet enjoy the work. So I think that's what I would do if I wasn't a firefighter."

"Don't spend your life chasing your dad's coattails Kelly. You'll never catch up."

"You speaking from experience?" They stopped at a bench to sit down looking at one another.

"I always tried to do everything I could to impress my parents but it never mattered. They still missed any musicals I was in during high school. I was valedictorian at my high school and they couldn't even be bothered to show up to my graduation. That's why I got the Hellcat. It was 'We are sorry we missed your graduation sweetheart.' gift."

"What do your parents go for work?"

"Diamond brokers and they have major investments in a bunch of different things. So there is always a business trip they have to go on. It's been 6 months since I've seen them."

"I'm sorry babe." Kelly genuinely felt bad and couldn't imagine what it was like to never see your parents.

"It's okay. I'm use to it. I was mostly raised by nanny's. So you may see the nice house, the nice cars and all the other nice items. But know all that comes at a price. The price my parents paid was not getting to see me grow up." Amber wiped away the tear she had shed.

Kelly pulled Amber into his lap letting her rest her head on his shoulder. They looked out over the river and just stayed quiet enjoying each other's company. A little while later they headed back to Kelly's car to go back to Amber's house.
