Amber was released from the hospital a couple hours later with instructions to follow up with her OBGYN. Which Amber agreed to do right away.

Amber was sitting in the passenger seat of Kelly's car still trying to process how much her life just changed.

They soon arrive back at Amber's house and head inside. They both head straight up the stairs to go lay down in Amber's room.

Amber was looking up at the ceiling. "What happens now?"

Kelly rolled to his side and laid his hand on Amber's stomach. "We don't have to figure that out now. We are going to be parents and that's what we need to focus on."

Amber looked away from the ceiling to see Kelly's smiling face next to hers. "You want to do this?"

"Of course I do. Being a dad is always something I wanted to be." Kelly's smile could light up an entire room and make you feel so safe and loved. It made Amber melt every time.

"We can do this. We are going to be parents."

Over the next couple weeks Kelly had become even more protective of Amber and making sure she was okay. They were getting ready to go a smoke drill and had to take off their mask while in the drill.

Kelly and Amber were in full gear standing next to one another. Kelly was feeling uneasy about this drill and the effects it could have on their baby.

"Amber maybe you should sit this one out?"

"Kelly it's going to be fine. It's not for that long."

They hear Captain Hernandez telling everyone to mask up. They then proceeded into the room where the drill was too take place.

The room is then filled with smoke and visitability becomes very low. Hernandez gives the order for the men and women to remove their masks.

Amber felt like this drill was lasting forever, she couldn't breath, she couldn't see. The drill only last 30 seconds before they were back outside.

Once Amber was outside she went off to the side to cough and try to get her breath back. Kelly watched her making sure she was okay. He noticed it was taking way to long for her to catch her breath.

Kelly walked over to her, taking her hands and forcing her to take a seat. "Calm down Rose. Just concentrate on your breathing." But it was no use she kept coughing and breathing heavy. "Capitan!"

Capitan Hernandez looks into the direction of Kelly. He saw Rose was seated and looked as if she was going to pass out. He jogged over towards them. "Rose are you okay?"

Amber tried to respond but couldn't catch her breath.

"Someone bring me oxygen!" One of the other students brought over what Hernandez had requested. He placed the mask over her face. "Just breath Rose. You are okay."

Kelly was trying to be patient but he was starting to become very concerned about Amber and how she was having so much trouble breathing. "She's pregnant." Kelly blurted it out before he even realized what he was saying.

If Amber could of controlled her breathing long enough she would of give Kelly a death glare. This is not how she wanted this news to be delivered.

Capitan Hernandez looks at both his students and then focus back on Rose. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"She was afraid of being kicked out."

"Let's get her to med to be check out." Kelly nodded and helped Hernandez get Amber onto a stretcher. There was an ambulance close by so they were able to take her to med.

Once the Ambulance had taken off, Kelly looked to his captain. "May I be excused?"

"Are you the father?"

Kelly sighed he knew this was coming. "Yes I am."

"You may go but we will be sitting down and talking about this." Capitan Hernandez was displeased with Rose and Severide.

"Yes Sir."

"Dismissed."

Kelly takes off to head to the hospital. Praying that Amber was going to be alright.

When Kelly arrived at the hospital they had gotten Amber's breathing under control and were performing an ultrasound sound. Kelly walked in and stood next to Amber grabbing ahold of her hand.

"Well everything looks perfect. Your little one is just fine." Kelly hadn't even noticed the breath he was holding in waiting to hear how the baby was. "We will get your discharge papers together. You need to rest and don't exert yourself."

"You got it Doc."

The second everyone else had left Amber pulled her hand back from Kelly's grasp.

"Amber…"

"No Kelly. I am mad at you. You couldn't of just whispered it to captions Hernandez but no you had to announce it to everyone!" Amber's face was beginning to turn red as she became angry.

"I'm sorry I panicked. You couldn't breath!" Kelly couldn't understand why she was so upset with him. He only did it to protect their child and her.

"You know they are probably kick me out now? Or place me behind a desk!"

"They won't. Everything is going to be okay Amber." Kelly tried to rub Amber's arm in comforting way but she jerked her arm away.

Kelly gave up and just took a seat waiting for them to discharge her so they could leave. It took about 30 minutes for a nurse to come with her discharge paperwork.

Amber was free to go and she strolled out of the hospital to Kelly's car. She was trying to contain her rage and trying to look past her own wants.

Kelly started the drive back to Amber's. They sat in silence for a little while before either of them spoke. "Are you still mad at me?"

"Of course I'm still made Kelly! This is my career my life! You can keep doing whatever you want because you are not growing another human in your body!"

"It's not just your life! It's our little angels life! You did something really stupid today!" Kelly had both hands on the wheel but most of his attention was on Amber.

The word stupid sent Amber to a full on rage. She hated that word. "I am not stupid Kelly Severide! I was trying to do my training so that I can proved for this little one!"

"A training that could of killed the baby! No one said you couldn't do the academy over after the baby is born! And you have me to help! You are not doing this alone Amber. I am right by your side."

Amber was looking at Kelly completely amazed at how wonderful of a man he was. She thought for sure he would of run by now but he hadn't.

Amber suddenly noticed headlights heading straight for Kelly's side of the car. Amber tried to say something but it was too late. Kelly had ran a red light and their car connected with another sending them into a roll. Amber could hear the car crunching more and more with each roll.

Amber remembers hearing faint sounds of screaming and people trying to figure out how to get them out. Amber looked over at Kelly who was unconscious. She reached out for him but he was too far away. Amber once again tried to find her words but she became unconscious.
