Jay and Amber were laying in her bed staring at one another not wanting to move but they both had work that day. It had been a couple weeks since intelligence had been assigned the arson case and it didn't seem like it was going to be solved anytime soon.

The Jane Doe had been identified as a 15 year old missing teen. As the team dug further in all the evidence was pointing towards a sex trafficking ring. The fires were set to destroy any evidence and cover up what was actually happening.

"I think your brother is starting to catch on that there is something going on between us." Amber had been bugging Jay about telling Will the truth. She hated hiding secrets from her best friend.

"After this case is over we will sit down and tell him. I promise."

"And when's that gonna be Jay? You guys keep finding evidence that brings more questions than answers."

Jay rubs his hands over his face out of frustration. "I'm a detective, Amber. It's part of my job."

"I know that Jay but why does our personal lives have to depend on your work life?"

"Because it just does Amber! I can't be distracted while looking for these guys."

Amber groaned and rolled out of bed. "Fine then Jay. Call me when this case is over."

"Amber..." But it was too late, she had gone into her bathroom to take a shower. Jay decided it was best if he wasn't there when she finished her shower. He grabbed his personal items and left.

Jay drove to work and stormed up to intelligence. He threw himself into his chair running his hands over his face again. The rest of the team was watching him intrigued by what was bothering him.

But before anyone could ask Hank Voight came out of his office. "We have a lead but we need to move now." Hanks voiced boomed through the bullpen. The intelligence team got to their feet and headed out towards the location.

Jay was rinding shot gun while Erin sped through the streets of Chicago. "What's going on Jay?"

"What do you mean Erin?"

"I mean how you just stormed into work this morning and didn't even say hi or good morning to any of us."

"Amber is just on my ass about telling my brother about us."

"Okay what's the problem?"

"I just don't want to worry about it right now. Not with this case. And things are great the way they are so why change that."

"Are you using this case as a scapegoat?"

"I... I don't know..." Jay trailed off trying to decide if there was a bigger reason he didn't want to tell Will.

"Maybe you should figure that out before telling your brother. And stop telling Amber a lie just so you don't have to face whatever it is you are afraid of."

The intelligence team pulled up on location and began to get ready.

Once Amber was done with her shower, she exited her bathroom noticing her bed was empty and Jay's stuff was gone. Amber sucked in the tears she felt forming before getting ready for work and heading to Chicago med.

Amber entered the ED being greeted by a wave of hellos and good mornings. She quickly made her way to the doctors lounge to put her stuff away and grab her white coat.

Will popped into the doctors lounge to see how Amber was doing. She didn't seem her normal happy self when she walked in this morning. "Amber you okay?"

"I'm fine Will." Amber didn't bother to turn around to look at her best friend.

"What did my brother do now?"

Amber was stunned. She turned around to look at Will who was standing there with his arms crossed over his chest. "I don't know what your talking about."

Will sighed. "So you want to keep going on with me pretending that I don't know what's going on?" Will walked closer to his best friend. "I know you Amber and I know my bother. As long as you two are happy that's all that matters."

"Thanks Will. I love you."

"I love you too." Will engulfed Amber into a hug. The two doctors then headed out into the ED to begin work but when they walked out everyone was staring up at the TV.

Both Will and Amber moved closer to see what was going on. Amber watched the screen as a report began to talk about raid that had just happened. Amber noticed Erin and Jay's car in the background. Along with truck 51, squad 3, and ambulance 61.

"...what has been uncovered here is proving to be completely gut wrenching and heartbreaking. The intelligence unit and CFD had uncovered a huge sex trafficking ring right here in the business district of Chicago..."

The doctors and nurses of Chicago med were watching as girl after girl was being taken out of the warehouse and loaded into ambulances. In the distance you could see an area blanketed by white cloth as some of the girls didn't make it.

"Ambulance 61 to Chicago med please be advise we are bring a set of victims to you. All with different injuries and dehydration. We will be pulling in with Squad 3 and Truck 51 behind us who are transporting the less injured victims."

"Copy that 61 see you soon." Maggie put the radio down. "Alright it's all hands on deck! If your patient can be discharged than do so. If the patient needs to be moved upstairs then start finding places for them to go. Let's move people!"

Everyone jumped into action as Maggie had instructed getting as many patients moved before the first round of victims were brought into Chicago med. The doctors were outside in the ambulance bay waiting for 61 to pull up.

A few minutes passed and the trucks began to pull up and each doctor jumped in. Will took 61, Dr. Choi and Dr. Manning took 81, and Amber took squad 3.

Kelly had hopped down from squad 3 to begin helping the girls out of the truck ."Whatcha got for me Severide?"

"They all appear to be in good health. Some hydration and cuts but over all not to bad." Kelly helps the last girl down and squad helps Amber bring them into the ER. They get the girls set up on a couple beds so Amber can do her assessment.

It had been a couple hours since the raid had happened, Chicago med was completely full and more girls were being brought in. Amber had yet to see Jay but she was trying not to worry.

The next time she saw Kelly though she did stop him to ask. "Kelly, have you seen Jay?"

"I haven't seen him since this first all went down this morning." Amber looked disappointed. "I'll keep an eye out for him and tell him to call you."

"Thanks Kelly." Amber went back to her patients and Kelly went back out to squad.
