He couldn't bring himself to stay away for long. It only took four days for him to find his way back to her street. He had made a quick stop in Queens and got some of his tech and all without his Aunt May even noticing he had stopped by, miraculously. A higher being was looking out for him in that moment, he knew and was immensely grateful.

"Hello, welcome back Peter," EDITH greeted him as he donned the blue shades from his seat in the grey rs7 Audi.

"Hey, um. Hi, EDITH, I have this situation," he hedged, at this point the 19-year-old was running on fumes and he fought to stay awake for this. A look through EDITH showed Peter her name, and her age.

He had already sent a bot he created to monitor her in her room. It was much better than trying to strain his ears even if he had gained super hearing from the spider bite. The bot was perched on her night stand that she seemed to ignore. She came back into frame and sat at her desk, typing away again. She was drinking water this time. He smiled as he watched her work through the monitor on his Stark-pad.

"How can I help you, Peter?" EDITH interrupted his thoughts. Well maybe she wasn't working, she wasn't typing like she had been the first night. She was using a mouse and clicking around, calm and relaxed she didn't seem to be typing but pressing keys, was she... was she playing video games?

He smiled at the possibility. What did she like to play? He was busy tapping away on his own Stark tablet looking at the blueprints of the home and using EDITH to check for any weak points in their alarm system. "We need to find any weak points in this residence." He glanced over at her through the window and EDITH gave him exactly what he needed once he gave her the address. Smiling, he realized there were 3 weak points in the alarm system and they were all in her bedroom. And she had a balcony connected to her room to boot. After he reviewed the data EDITH collected, he directed the bot in her room to get a better look at her face. A glance in her direction through EDITH showed him what she was doing on her laptop, she was playing Minecraft. Peter couldn't suppress the chuckle that bubbled up.

It was another hot April night, and her windows were open letting in what little cool breeze there was, "I think they turned the AC on," he heard her mother through the live feed in her room calling her.

She didn't even complain, "okay." She pressed pause on the game, removed her ear buds and got up, he wasn't even sure she was wearing shorts until she turned her back to the bot and went to the back room. She popped back out after confirming "yes," and he heard the sounds of clicks and windows shutting.

She came to the big window and looked out into the night light, Peter turned his face up to the window and watched her, she sighed and shut the window and the blinds after her eyes passed over the car he sat in. He sighed, and decided to turn in for the night.

He vowed to come back and see her during the day soon, after he finished his work. Peter asked EDITH to have the bot hide when Meredith turned in for the night but to continue monitoring.

Monday rolled around and he perked up at the sight of her blinds being opened at 9 AM. After monitoring her through EDITH for the last week he pretty much had her schedule memorized. She'd spend the day playing on her switch and cleaning in between deaths on her game.

She stretched in front of the window and slowly putted around her room. He saw her pass back and forth. She even dressed in front of the window today, blessing his eyes with her slipping into much more flattering leggings that hugged her ass and thighs just right and the sight of her bare chest as she pulled on a sports bra.

She busied herself with primping her face with some make up and mussed her hair and picked out a cut t-shirt that had New York written across her chest. His chest swelled with some pride at that. There was no way she could have known he was watching her but he couldn't help it. The shirt had a cut down the front that made the top a little revealing.

He found himself wondering who she was dressing up for. He got prepared to get out of his car to follow her on foot, assuming that she would be going for a run or a walk in the neighborhood but was surprised to see her walk out with a purse and a water bottle.

She climbed into her little white Honda and put her car into gear and took off at break neck speed. She had music blasting from her speakers and the sun roof was open he did his best to follow after her. He'd been confused when she pulled into an apartment complex. He deployed another bot while she pulled into a parking spot waiting for something-or someone. Peter's anger started to flare when he saw a lanky guy walk up to her car. He quickly donned his sunglasses and had EDITH give him all information she could find on this guy. Soul looked over and unlocked the passenger door and the guy climbed in.

She seemed to be upset, Peter studied her face and saw how she rolled her eyes every so often and even swatted the guy's hand from her own. Peter grinned with sick satisfaction; he would make sure that this guy stayed away from her after this. The bot was set to feed audio and visuals and Peter gripped onto his own steering wheel as he followed behind the pair. EDITH gave Peter all the information known on the guy in her car. Cameron Pham. 30. Single never married.

She drove into the next suburb and they went through a Starbucks drive through. He was happy to see that she didn't let this guy walk all over her. But still didn't like that she paid for the guy's drink. He was surprised to see that she went looking for parking and they got out with their drinks and this guy had the audacity to reach for her hand. Peter kept finding that his anger was flaring up as he watched the pair.

Quickly, he found a space nearby but not too close to park at. He decided to follow on foot with his sunglasses. They seemed to be going into a center of some kind. The bot settled into her jacket hood and switched to audio feed only into Peter's ear bud. He retrieved his stark phone from his pocket and followed after. He was surprised to see a little park around a small lake; it was a picturesque view he smiled liking that she enjoyed walking and being active. She seemed intent on walking but the guy pushed her to sit and relax in the sun.

Peter focused on the tone of her voice. She seemed annoyed and still kept rejecting the guy's advances. "Cam, you can't hold my hand, I need to track my steps." He heard the annoyance dripping from her voice even from where he sat. She looked around at the other park goers and was smiling and laughing at all the cute puppies. 'She's so cute,' Peter thought to himself. He sat on his phone but stayed vigilant to see when they got up to walk again. The guy mumbled in response and Peter didn't really care to try to understand what he said. "Uh yeah, do you not remember two weeks ago when you held my hand and I only got 5,000 steps last time?" she was clearly annoyed with this guy. But he still wasn't sure of their relationship.

She secured her mask to her face again and waited to get back on the path after a large group of people passed. "It's Monday, how are there so many people?" she huffed.

Her voice carried a little. For some reason she entertained this guy when he wanted to stop at an outdoor work out machine. It was a balance machine. Peter walked past them and his heart nearly stopped when she glanced at him briefly. He decided to settle on a bench to look out at the scenery and watch the two bickering. She stood back and watched the tall guy and he wished that the guy would eat shit. He almost did, several times, causing her to laugh at him. Peter loved her laugh.

As Peter sat back watching the pair, he worked with EDITH to get into the guy's personal records. He resisted the urge to drain his funds and ruin his life in some way. Instead, Peter focused on finding dirt on the guy. Was there another woman? Were there drugs?

Finally, the guy turned to her and asked if she could do any better. She said she didn't want to do it. Maybe he made a face at her, Peter couldn't see since he could only see the guy's back, but she suddenly got a determined look on her uncovered face as she sipped on her green Frappuccino. She was determined in her movements and unlike the guy that was by her side, she didn't need to hold onto anything to remain stable.

Peter's chest swelled with pride as she didn't even need help off the machine, even though Cameron made sure to be ready if she needed it. Peter was thankful for that at least. The pair walked the length of the lake once taking breaks every so often. The guy asked why she was upset.

She explained that she was just in a bad mood. "But why do you treat me like this," he pressed. She sighed not offering any sort of answer. "I don't think I'm your anchor," he continued.

"What do you mean?" She questioned warily, her brows were furrowed in confusion.

"I don't ground you; I irritate you. You're not happy when you're with me," Cam trailed off. "I'm older than you, you should be treating me with more respect, and you just don't"

"Exactly. You don't think that's weird? It shouldn't be like that. I get so annoyed texting you and I get frustrated I don't understand, I just don't think this is how it should be," She also trailed off but started up again. "I just think we can be friends, but I know what I need now and I'm not trying to be mean or anything but it's not you. Also, I am still older than you, even if I was gone for 5 years..."

He nodded and they continued their walk going around the lake once more.

Cameron asked her if her chest was alright several times after she stopped and gasped once. At one point he even called her honey. He noted down the name in a note on his phone. Did she like that nickname?

"Are you ready to leave?" Cameron asked her. She hummed in thought and confessed she needed to use the bathroom. "Can you make it back to my place?"

She shook her head. "I think we should stop here at Vons before we go." The guy nodded and allowed her to lead the way. She walked briskly, and didn't spare the lanky guy a second glance as she had her goal in sight.

After she entered the bathroom, Peter watched the guy she called Cam. Who was this guy to her? Her boyfriend? Surely, she would talk about a boyfriend to her mother if that was the case. And based on their earlier conversation, things weren't going well between them.

'Is this guy a secret?' He wondered and followed the pair as they drove back to the apartment complex.

Peter was seething as she was up in the apartment with this guy. The bot was still in audio feed not wanting to risk her smashing the thing. After an hour of listening to them talk while they cooked, ate, and watched TV, she was bidding the guy good bye and he distinctly heard them kiss. She drove away with not a hair out of place and make up still intact. Peter was ecstatic that she wasn't sleeping with this Cam guy, but didn't like that she was kissing him. And clearly, she wanted him out of her life. While her phone was in her purse, Peter had EDITH access her phone so he could monitor that as well. He watched her as she went about her day and she received a call.

"Hello, mother," she looked at the shampoo bottle she held in her hand scrutinizing its contents. "I'm at the store," a pause. "BBB, do you need anything?"

He listened to her from the other side of the aisle. And felt a rush at being so near to her without her even knowing. "Okay, I'll look if they have it," she answered. "No, I just went for a walk this morning, and I got breakfast." She stopped to listen again, "yeah, I was at Goldman's Creek."

He stilled at her words, she had spent the morning at Freeman's Lake; she was lying, why? Maybe he was correct about the guy being a secret, he reasoned with himself.

"I'm safe mom, I'm here at home, no one is going to abduct me," he could imagine the roll of her eyes at the idea as he heard her slightly mocking laugh. But smiled as he knew it wouldn't last for long. "Well," she was walking away and he made to end up in another aisle to keep listening. "Okay, well, they have it, anything else?" there was a slight bite to her tone now.

She probably didn't like being nagged. "Okay, I'm going to pay, I'll talk to you later," she ended the call with her mom, grabbed whatever else she needed and went to go stand in line and he made his way outside to his car to wait for her. She also went on a bit of a drive and ended up at Walmart.

She had a return to make it seemed, she was carrying a few small items and receipt in her hand. She also seemed agitated by just being in the building. Peter watched as she made the return and made her way quickly out of the store determined to spend as little time as possible inside. Peter followed her home again and smiled to see she was safe at home and decided to leave her be for the day.

He turned on the car and decided to leave when she was running out of the house again. She fumbled with keys and ran to her car. There was no distress on her face she was calm.

Peter saw her grab her phone and he chuckled dryly, she was so forgetful sometimes.

Then she slowly, slowly made her way back into the house. She sighed and he noticed her shoulders were dropped she didn't seem to want to be there. The look on her face made a darkness swirl in his chest. He wanted to give her a better life and vowed that one day, he would. With that final thought, he drove off.

He found her Facebook a little later while he was back doing his own work in his apartment. He contemplated adding her but decided against it, she didn't know him. He looked through her photos and saw she hadn't posted anything for 10 years. She was also older than him and 32 but that didn't line up with what EDITH told him.

Peter thought about her face and wondered how she seemed to look so young. "EDITH," Peter started and waited for her response. "Can you please check her name with the list of those erased in the Blip?" a moment passed and EDITH confirmed, she had indeed disappeared.

Peter was pensive after this, contemplating what he should do next, one this was certain though. He would meet her.
