-Introduction-
An overweight man in his late thirties with pale sickly skin, a large beer belly, shoddy gray clothes, and long blonde hair that covered his eyes walked down a side ally from the late afternoon city street of Vale. He stood at the end of the alley, his back facing the entrance with his head looking forward. The dark shadows of the alleyway left him in a dark shadow.
"What do you want?" the man asked seemingly no one, his low but rough voice irritated and tired. He knew who had arrived, and it was not someone, or something that Remnant was ready to be aware of.
In front of him something pitch black moved through the shadows. Two red eyes formed in the darkness as black tendrils waved around him in the darkness. However, he was unintimidated.
A man in a black suit with pitch black skin and red eyes walked out from the shifting tendrils. He stood in front of the overweight man and opened his mouth to speak. Long needlelike teeth stretched through his mouth in many rows glinting in the faint light.
"What do I want?" The black man asked him back with a condescending tone, it's voice smooth and evil.
It leaned in towards his face, stopping mere inches from him. It's corrupting breath burning at his face.
"You know what I want. All that's left is for you to accept that I'm not going away, and that you can do so much more. That you will never get rid of me, and that you are The Sentry" The black man said, his smile wide, showing his countless needlelike teeth.
"NO! I'm not The Sentry! I'm just Bob now" The overweight man growled back, finishing at a quieter tone that was filled with darkness.
The pitch black man turned away from Bob, about to walk back into the waving darkness.
"You disappoint me Robert. You can't hide in your apartment drinking alcohol forever. People, and more importantly the observant of this realm will notice us eventually" The black man spoke, the threat evident in his words.
"We'll burn that bridge when we get there, but now is not that time" Bob replied, getting sick of the conversation.
Ptew. The black man spit on the ground in front of bob.
"When you're done being a pathetic coward. I'll be here waiting" He said before melting into the darkness.
Bob stood there in the alleyway silently, ruminating over what the man in black had said. He had to give it to the man. He couldn't drown the truth forever. He couldn't run forever. Not by a long shot.
Perhaps it was time to accept his situation. Perhaps he could be The Sentry once again. However, could this helpless world bear the consequences?
AN: Just an idea that I wanted to put to pen. I'll get to making this a serious story sometime later on.
