I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter, I know it was kinda short, I'll try to make them longer as I get better at writing.

Thanks for all the saves and reviews can't believe this many people have started reading it already!

From now on at the end of every chapter the will be a bold text of a preview into the next chapter.

7:30am*

Hanks watch reads. He walks into the bullpen turning on all the lights, when he noticed the door to his office is slightly ajar. Confused he walks in and sees Jay laying on the chair cradling the photo of him and Hailey.

"Halstead?"

"Halstead wtf wake up!"

Jay wakes, jolting at the sudden yelling. "Oh shit, what time is it I need to leave."

"Jay it's 7:30 it's time to start the day of work. Why are you in my office this early?"

Jay is confused himself until he realises he's holding the picture, "Hank haileys gone, her apartment is empty and her neighbour said she's gone to New York!"

"I know she's gone, she transferred last shift, she gone back home to work with the FBI. I'm sorry Jay."

"Why does this always happen, the minute I go to ask a girl to marry me, they flee, I give up!"

"Jay why don't you go home refreshen up and come back this afternoon. I'll call if I need you."

"No. I'm not leaving, I'm not going back to that lonely apartment. I'll just sit at my desk and wait for her to return."

And so he does. While Hank just stares at him with sorry in his eyes.

Jays POV

It's five hours later and this day couldn't go for any longer. Why has she not called me? Why is no one saying anything about the fact that she's gone?

I can't take this any longer I need answers.

As I walk into Voights office I can here him on the phone to someone, maybe it's her. I barge in, "is it her? Its hailey isn't is. Let me talk to her."

It's not her. It's someone else.

"Hank why has she not called me? What is going on?"

"Halstead I can't talk about this with you right now I'm busy, I have a case to solve, why aren't you doing your part?"

"Voight, I can't god damn focus on anything I'm sitting out there bored to my brain but my brain is also spinning with thoughts on why tf she would leave me!" I yell.

"Halstead, do not speak to me in that tone, I don't have the answers you are looking for, now go back to your desk and do something useful with yourself or leave I don't care just do something."

"Well maybe I will leave, just like everyone else, I give up on this bloody lifestyle!" I also yell as I storm out of Voights office.

Argh why does everything I love turn into shit. I walk pass my desk slamming the photo of her and I into the bin. It like I'm having deja vu, I say to myself, expect I think the others heard because they are now all staring at me.

"What are you all looking at, find something else to stare at I'm done with this place!"

I storm off down stairs, heading towards the door.

"Afternoon Detective Chuckles" I hear a voice say

I turn around and glare at the person who just said it, "Trudy now isn't the time."

"Clearly not" I hear her mutter to herself. This time I ignore it and walk out to my car and get in. I start driving I don't know exactly where but I just keep driving.

30 minutes later I find myself at the cemetery. I call past Nadia and say Hi. Then I go to see mom.

"Hey mom... I need your advice..."

Hanks POV

"Grandpa guess what!" I hear the little girl on my screen yell at me.

"What's that sweetheart?"

"Momma says I get to see you for my birthday!"

"I know, I can't wait to see how big you've gotten."

I hear a woman calling in the background of the call, "Pumkin tell him what you want for your birthday."

"I want a dolly, and a pony and one more thing but you have to guess."

I respond "I don't know Hal it could be anything knowing you, can mommy give me a hint?"

"Hank I don't even know what the third thing is." Erin says, me now being able to see her face through the phone.

"Hal just tell me I have no clue!" I say

"Alright I'll tell you, I want to meet my..."

"Is it her? It's hailey isn't it." Jay says barging into my office.

"I've got to go" I say into my phone. "Bye Hal."

I hang up the phone and take a deep breath, that could've ended badly, but I don't recall what Hallie said the third thing was.

Jay and I talk for little while although he is already yelling at me. It's all over the fact that Hailey left and didn't tell him. I mean I feel bad because that's twice now that the love of his life has up and left him, but he's starting to get on my nerves, all day he's moped around all sad faced doing the bare minimum of his job.

After the conversation, I kick him out of my office and tell him to pull himself into gear or leave.

He ends up throwing something in the bin causing a shattering sound but I don't know what it was, as I go to say something he storms out the bullpen, yelling something about giving up and having deja vu, this could be bad.

I decide I should callher.

Hailey's POV

Im getting lunch when my phone rings. It's Voight.

"Hello" I say cautiously.

"Upton, Hi, I need to talk to you about Jay." He says

I freeze. I don't know what to say.

"Hank, I left chicago for a reason."

"Yeah, I know you freaked out about the commitment but you got the job offer ages ago, so really you just wanted to go back to your old roots, and I completely understand that. But it's him that doesn't.

Hank goes on to explain the conversation he just had with Jay and what Jay was like throughout the day so far.

After a while I tell Hank that I can't help, it's up to Jay to fix himself. It's not my fault that he loved me in a way I didn't love him. I can't force something on my self just because a guy wants to marry me.

I end the call with Hank and block all contact with personnel from Chicago except for Hank, just in case of emergencies.
