(1st POV Raphael)
Everything was wrong. Mikey was supposed to be home. He betrayed us because he thought us too weak, that he could not come to us. Imagine that, the weakest of us 'protecting' us. Not that Mikey was not strong, he was just the weak link. He had no specialty, he only caused problems on missions. Why would anyone who wasn't his family want him! I growled and punched the bag harder. I punched harder and harder and harder, punching any doubt of anything but the truth out. Don had showed us the surveillance recordings. The disappearing acts could have simply been him going out to skateboard, but the practicing was not something I could deny. There was no way the twerp was better than me. I won every one-on-one spar. Every one. Did he think that he was better than me? Had he been mocking me this entire time? I was yanked from my thoughts as the sand spilled out of the punching bag. Another thing I had noticed. I never fixed this stupid thing, so who did?
"Fuck this" I grunted and grabbed my sais, headed topside.
"Where are you going?" Leo asked from behind me.
"I am going to do something useful. Find Mikey. I won't get the answers I want till I do" I spat and continued on my way, not caring about Leo. I did not need him trying to control me, like he always did. His lack of fight annoyed me though.
I prowled the roofs, looking for any goons to beat up. Casey said he would meet up with me tonight. He returned from the farmhouse a couple of days ago, but I did not answer his texts, except to tell him to stay away from the sewer. Beating up some two-bit thug was easy, but it was better than nothing. I felt them before I saw them, the foot ninja. The assholes that we could not see hide or hair off for weeks. I smirked as I snuck up towards them. Finally, I could get some answers after I beat the shit out of these punching bags.
(1st POV Michelangelo)
I had just completed my most recent mission when I heard a commotion outside. I left through a window and swung up to a roof to get a better view. At first, I could only see the watch squad in a scuffle with an unknown assailant. Then I saw a flicker of red, and a pounding in my head. It started off quietly as I continued to watch the strangely familiar, sai wielding turtle fight the foot ninja, whom were somehow losing to one enemy. I knew I should step in, but I felt rooted in place. Why, why is he familiar? Why does he look like me? Why do I want to protect him? I screwed up my eyes in pain as the pounding grew louder and louder. My eyes flew open at the heart wrenching scream of pain tore through the air. RAPH! I did not hesitate to move. I threw myself towards the fight and blocked the next swing aimed at my brother's neck.
"Michael, what do you think you are doing?" The ninja hissed at me. I never had the chance to learn their names.
"Leave my brother alone. He is off the table" I growled back. It was coming back to me in small pieces, the first being the deal. The ninja disengaged and the only other two that were still standing began circling behind me. Raph had not moved yet and I tried to ignore the growing anxiety.
"I see Master Tigerclaw's training has failed. What do you think he will do to you for turning on us?" The first ninja challenged. I really wish it hadn't caused me to flinch, giving him the satisfaction.
"I am not going back" I sprang at him, spinning my kusarigama. I wrapped them around his leg and pulled him off balance, pulling him to the ground. I pulled out the pistol Tigerclaw gave me and shot the ninja next to my left and then pointed the muzzle at the last one.
"Give Tigerclaw a message. The deal has been broken, I will collect" I ordered coldly, before tossing the ninja stuck in my chain at him. They both ran quickly, not daring to look back. I rushed towards Raph. His face was covered in blood, but he was breathing. His eye had been hit, but I didn't see any life threatening injuries.
"Raphie, c'mon Raphie. Wake up, please. I am so so sorry" I whispered softly. I carefully wrapped his eye to help stop the bleeding and keep it from opening. He moaned some as I did so, but didn't say a coherent sentence. I pulled out his T-phone and pressed the emergency locator. I heard a moan from one of the foot that Raph had knocked out. I knew what I had to do. I ended the rest of the ninja. I could not allow them to hurt my family again.
"Mikey? What, what are you doing?" I heard Casey voice and spun around. He was pale, and looked at me as if I was a stranger. I am a stranger.
"Look after Raph, Leo and Donnie should be here soon" I deadpanned instead before climbing up the side of the building, ignoring Casey's protests. I, I could not handle if my brother's looked at me that way. I have killed. Worse, I had killed innocent children. I was a monster. It would be better if they did not know Michael, the cold-blooded killer. Then they would only know Mikey, their sweet and stupid little bro.
