I am so so sorry about the delay. I swore I posted the last chapter and didn't realize until recently that I never did. Here is the conclusion of the story. Thank youf or all the reviews. I enjoyed writing it and hope everyone liked reading it. Can't wait for the new season to starts so we can have more Upstead. Thanks again for reading and let me know what you think.

Jay opened his eyes and looked around forgetting where he was then he saw Hailey laying down on him looking very serene and beautiful. She was truly beautiful. He looked at his watch, they slept for about an hour.

"This hasn't changed."

"What?" Jay asked her confused

"You watching me sleep. I thought it was creepy at first but then I got used to it since you are always up before the sun."

"It's from my time in the military. But I don't want to talk about that "Hailey immediately noticed him getting tense. "Are you going to be okay alone for a little while? I want to go to Will's apartment and take a shower."

"Jay I am not a child." She said pretending to be angry but truly grateful he wanted to take care of her. "But you don't have to go to Will's. You have clothes here and all your things are still in the bathroom."

"Wouldn't that make you feel weird?"

She took his hands in hers and made him look straight at her. "This is your house, our home. It's not weird in fact it feels great having you here. I know you are the one who must feel weird."

"It does feel a little weird but not as much as I thought. I feel like I know which drawer to open to find a spoon but I shouldn't because its not mine. Does it make sense?"

She was laughing hard after that.

"Hailey Ann are you making fun of me?" He was laughing too.

"You remembered my middle name?" She suddenly realized

"I guess I did. Dr. Abrams was right though this is super weird just remembering odd stuff."

"It's a good sign though." She squeezed his hand and he held hers like he used to. This was the most physical contact they've had for weeks and she didn't want it to end.

"Did you change your last name?" She gave him a questioning look. "I mean at the precinct everyone calls you Upton but at the hospital they were calling you Mrs. Halstead."

"I did change it but not at work. We thought it would be too confusing to have 2 detective Halsteads. However, when you get promoted to Sergeant I might reconsider and use the Halstead at work too."

"Sergeant?"

"Voight's been grooming you and a few years back he told you the unit would be yours one day."

"Wow. It seems I have grown in these past six years."

"We all have." She laid happily on his side while he ran his hands up and down her arm. "Do you want to take a shower then?"

"Yes, lets do it."

Hailey went into the bedroom and pulled out some boxers, sweatpants and a shirt from his drawers and left it in the bathroom for him along with a towel. "I put everything in the bathroom for you." She went back out to the living room to let him know.

"Thanks."

"I guess I should give you the 5 cent tour of the house."

"Sure." Jay had already seen the bathroom and the bedroom before the night before.

"This is the baby's room." She showed him a small bedroom space. 'It will be the baby space, as you can see its empty right now, but we still have time. Here's the bathroom and our bedroom, but I guess you've already seen these rooms."

"It's a nice place. I like it. I guess I've learned to be more organized in these years."

" Ha, not so much. I am a little anal about the mess and you have gotten better but every once in a while, I still get on you about the dirty clothes making it in the hamper."

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize I love every part of you mess and all. Plus I have to admit ever since we found out about the baby you have been so awesome."

"Really?" Jay was still having a hard time connecting to his domestic life.

"Yes really. Now go ahead and take a shower."

"I need it, this hospital stench in killing me."

She heard him close the door and get in the shower and went to lay in bed to watch some tv. A few minutes later her eyes wouldn't stay open, and she finally gave him to sleep.

Jay took a long shower. Letting the hot water take away some of the stress of the last hours. He shaved after seeing the razor brand he uses in the bathroom as well as his aftershave and deodorant. He felt clean, relaxed and most important he felt at home.

When he finished he saw Hailey asleep in the bedroom. He covered her with a blanket that was laying at the feet of the bed, turned off the tv, and set a bottle of water on her nightstand. He felt his eyes getting heavy and laid on the couch. The sleepless night catching up to him, he let darkness surround him.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." He's drenched in sweat and breathing heavy. It takes him a moment to realize where he's at.

"You are okay. It was a nightmare. You are home in Chicago with me." He looks at Hailey kneeling beside him caressing his arm slowly. 'Breathe slowly. You are fine."

He hates she's seeing him like this. "Did I wake you up?"

She nods "You were screaming. Was it the one where your Humvee got ambushed?"

"You know about that?" He doesn't share stories from his time in the war, not with his family or his friends so he is very surprised with her words.

"Jay when we first became partners you were going through some things and I told you to go to a therapist."

"No way. I don't like all that psychology thing."

"Well I didn't really give you a choice, it was either go see a psychologist or I was going to request a new partner."

He smiled at that, obviously she called him out on his bull on a regular basis. 'So I went to therapy?"

"Yes, and it helped you a lot. You still have nightmares occasionally, but you were able to work out a lot of your issues."

"Maybe I need to go again."

"Have you been having a lot of nightmares?"

He didn't like feeling vulnerable but with Hailey it was easy to let his guard down. "Yeah, almost every night."

She felt terrible knowing because she knew just how much those nightmares affected him. "Come on." She dragged him up with her.

"Where?"

"To sleep with me in our bed." Hailey knew she was being aggressive and there was a chance he would reject her, but she felt good with her chances. "Don't look at me that way Jay Halstead. No funky business, just sleep. You need it and I know how to help you."

He silently followed her, she laid down and dragged him down with her where they were facing each other, inches apart still holding hands.

"Now close your eyes and relax. Remember you are not in Afghanistan. You are home with your family. You are here with me, you are safe and I am not letting go." She took his other hand and placed her on belly where their child grew, remembering how he liked to fall asleep touching her belly.

Jay felt his body relax. the bed was comfortable, he could smell Hailey's hair- lavender. He felt the warmth in his hand where hers rested, he closed his eyes and let his mind go blank. Suddenly he felt movement, he opened his eyes thinking it was Hailey but she seemed to be asleep already. He felt it again, it was the baby, their baby.

He felt the tears fall as his heart swelled from feeling his baby move for the first time. He closed his eyes and fell asleep with a smile in his face.

Hailey was dreaming of one of their lazy Sundays in bed. Jay would be awake already since dawn but stay in bed with her. He would start kissing her, caressing her skin, and cuddling with her the way he knew she loved until she was awake enough to start the day. She could taste him and smell his aftershave like it was real, so she opened her eyes.

"Morning Hails."

She looked around, feeling like she was still dreaming because Jay really was kissing her and engulfing her with his arms. "Hi." She didn't know what else to say. If this was a dream, she didn't want to wake up so she barely moved, too scare to end it.

"I felt the baby move."

She couldn't help the tears that came out. "Its surreal right? I've been feeling it moving for a few days and every time still amazes me."

"You amaze me. You are the only person for me. I cannot stop thanking God for putting you in my life. Thank you for being my wife and the mother of my child. I love you Hails."

She held back a sob, still trying to process his words. "Jay do you remember us?"

He nodded quickly, bringing her closer and hiding his face under her head. "Right before I fell asleep, I felt the baby move and suddenly I knew everything. I remember the first time we kissed, when we got married and when we found out about the baby."

"Oh my God." They both held on to each other and cried together. "I love you so much Jay. I have missed you.

"I love you too sweetheart and I am here always and forever."
