Chapter 12

Queen Elsa along with Prince Rollan arrived at the castle's entrance. Thereafter the prince offered himself to open up the door by shoving it into the room, making the queen smile and enter into the entrance hall.

„Thank you," Replied the blonde, then Rollan shove the door back and approached the queen again.

„Your majesty…...this walk here around your kingdom was really interesting. It's far more different than the one of my father's looks. Your place is more colorful and ours is…..more of a light-brown or beige color. The roofs are all dark-orange or a sort of red, but for what the place it it's not so bad-looking,"

„You know a lot about the kingdom," Commented Elsa making Rollan shake his head.

„Not every corner, but most of the places I do," Stated the Spaniard.

„I don't know every edge of my kingdom as well. I've just been able to leave my castle on a few occasions. It's just I didn't give myself a chance to go out and see everything of Arendelle,"

„I would be in a way great to go out more often and be closer to the villagers. You can always get to know them better and take care of issues that you may haven't seen from in here," Commented Rollan making Elsa nod. „If you want to,"

„I know. We'll see each other at dinner," Stated Elsa making her way upstairs leaving Rollan back a little bewildered.

„Uh…..see you later," Commented Rollan, then he moved stairs up and moved to the opposite direction and took a look at the queen walking along the corridor neutrally. „Perhaps I shouldn't have insisted," Commented the prince and moved his head away, then spotted from Princess Anna's bedroom Gerda get out with a bunch of papers in her hand, afterward she noticed Rollan stand in the middle of the corridor and she smiled.

„How was the walk?" Asked Gerda making her way towards the prince, which nodded.

„It was good, just…..I think just a few seconds ago I had spoke about her getting to know her villagers more and I think I made her angry about it….not exactly angry, but maybe even sad," Spoke the raven-haired making Gerda nod.

„Don't worry, she's just not very open towards people. You can speak to her again about it. To at least let her know you didn't mean to sound rude in any way,"

„Are you going the same way as her?" Asked Rollan making Gerda nod.

„Are you afraid?" Questioned Gerda with a smirk, shrieking Rollan.

„It's not easy to have to convince someone to like you," Contered Rollan crossing his arms. „Prince Ulrich and Hugo are better matchings,"

„And why do you say that?" Asked Gerda walking further, then was accompanied by the Spaniard. „You three only have been here for three nights. You four need time to get to know each other a little, at least to the time Elsa feels safe enough to pick out one of you,"

„I'm trying to figure out my way to wake her interest, but I have to take it really slow if I want to make a good impression on her,"

„That could be good for Elsa. You know by that I mean it makes it easier for her to listen to you,"

„Sure," Commented Rollan arriving the stairs to get down, then stopped to see a foreign person in a dark coat pass in front of them and made his way up the stairs to where Elsa went. „Who is that?" Asked Rollan curious, then Gerda dropped her chin thinking about the possible person hidden under it.

„Hey! Who let you in?" Asked Gerda loud, then the person ran stairs up disappearing into the corridor, making Rollan frown, which went behind the person followed by Gerda.

„Guards! Guards!" Shouted Gerda and watched Rollan stop by a knight statue to remove the sword of it, before following their path again.

Elsa moved her head back to see the person come towards her, making her growl and turn around crossing her arms awaiting the person, which stopped by the queen.

„What are you doing here?" Questioned Elsa watching the person stop, then heard a male voice and looked back to see Rollan had appeared holding his sword towards the man.

„Move away from the queen," Ordered the Spaniard making the foreigner chuckle, then move his hand up and suddenly the sword started to crumble in Rollan's hand shrieking him.

„Don't worry. I got this," Assured the queen, then Rollan looked at Gerda, which shrugged her shoulders and stepped back, followed by Rollan, which looked around the corridor to notice the other knights statues. „What brought you here, Sigmond?" Elsa questioned watching the magician take out from his pocket a letter to open it to the queen.

„I saw the current letter you sent to your sister at the castle. Out of curiosity I got in there to see, which was the next victim to fight along with the bears and I'm actually surprised that as I got up to look for the princess she was nowhere to be seen. Only that silly snowman was there, which told me, she was freed by a so-called farmer and his dog,"

„A farmer?" Questioned Elsa curious making the magician nod. Elsa smiled a little, then heard the man laugh again.

„You're surprised as well aren't you?" Asked the magician. „Anyways, I came here cause I assumed you had no knowledge about her escape and as I see I was right,"

„Now I do. If that was all, then I suggest you to leave the castle immediately or else,"

„Or else what?" Asked the magician taking one step closer to the queen.

„Or else we will take care of you," Said a voice, then the magician looked behind the queen to see Prince Ulrich along with Prince Hugo and their fathers standing there with two guards of Arendelle holding a weapon in their hands.

„Oh I'm so scared," The magician said ironic, making Elsa frown, then he looked at Gerda, which stood next to Prince Rollan and moved his hand up and formed it into a fist, causing Gerda to fall on her knees trying to catch for breathe slowly.

„Stop that!" Ordered Elsa, then Prince Rollan ran against the magician, which kicked Rollan against his stomach causing pain onto him and observed Gerda trying to gasp for breath. „Stop it! I beg you," Ordered Elsa, then the man let Gerda off his power and she gasped loudly for air, afterward, the Spaniard moved on his knees towards the girl to look for her state.

„Anna still has a chance. I believe in her and as long as I'm doing that I won't pass you the kingdom over," Announced the queen. „The deal still is set for me,"

„Good," Commented the magician. „Until next time and I wish you good luck," Said the magician turning around to pass beside the Alicantino prince, which growled and pushed his sleeves back and the silver-blonde woman grabbed Rollan by his arm to prevent him to follow the man.

„Don't do anything, you saw what he almost did to Gerda," Warned Elsa making Rollan sigh, then the woman got down to take a look on Gerda. „You're okay?"

„I'm fine," Answered Gerda a little anxious, then was helped up by the friend and the prince.

„Who is this guy?" Asked Prince Rollan observing the woman look up at the guests behind her looking concerned about what had just happened.

„It's a long story. Something happened to my sister Anna a long time ago and when we went to look for help we found him. He turned out to be a faux, which instead cursed her, and she's only got time to her 20th birthday to break it by developing feelings for someone, who as well does the same for her,"

„And the time is running out, right?" Asked Hugo's father quiet making the queen nod.

„She's only got time until June and I fear, that it couldn't happen to work out in the end," Commented the Norwegian woman, then Prince Hugo took a step closer to the woman.

„Your majesty, until June is a long time," Commented the Belgian boy. „She can meet a lot of people until then,"

„She's locked up in a castle, moron," Commented Prince Ulrich making Hugo frown.

„I'm trying to help her out in a way. Unlike you," Defended the prince himself making Ulrich frown.

„Princess Anna is free now. She's being taken by a farmer I think to somewhere else. I don't know where exactly, but that's what he mentioned," Gerda explained making Elsa nod.

„Still I don't feel right about this," Commented the queen, then Gerda grabbed Elsa by her hands.

„Look we have now info about her escape. Why don't we write a letter and hope the messenger birds spots her?" Questioned Gerda making Elsa shake her head.

„Swifts can't track Anna as if they were dogs. They just fly and deliver. I don't think our swift could go look for Anna and find her quick. It would take months, mostly if she's moving along,"
„Yes, that makes sense…..We don't even have that much time,"

„Have you tried to send a morse code to other people, which could get informed about her in a way?" Questioned Prince Rollan, then Elsa widened her eyes at the suggestion.

„That's a great idea," Commented Elsa astonished by the simple idea, no one else came up with.

„Cool…...How will we do it?" Questioned Elsa, then Elsa looked at one of the Arendellian guards check the pole hammer and noticed the queen look at him.

„You…..your majesty?" Asked the guard standing straight waiting for an order from the woman.

„Inform another guard to make himself ready. I have a message to go out by morse code to all of Scandinavia," Noticed the silver-blonde making the guard nod.

„Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland?" Questioned the man making Elsa nod. „I'm on it, your majesty,"

„Do you need anything else, my queen?" Asked the second guard making Elsa shake her head.

„You can go back to your place or…..before that, lead our guests to the dining room. I will get to you later, after finishing the short note," Informed Elsa. „Gerda, you can go along with the others,"

„Sure, your majesty," Answered Gerda approaching the guests to follow the guard along the corridor.

In the evening the trio had put a stop on, then Princess Anna was trying to make fire on her own under the observation of the husky, which watched her curious.

„I think I almost got it," Anna spoke, then began to gently blow at it while Donny moved his head closer to the timber, which he then began to scent with the nose a small, dark fume coming out of starting a flame. Anna watched the flame grow, then smiled as she had made it without any problem.

„Look Donny, I did it," Spoke Anna looking at the dog, which looked at her and panted. Anna placed her hand on Donny's head to pat it, then Donny leaned his snout over Anna's leg, lying down as she continued to caress him. „Good boy," Complimented the woman, then looked at Hans, which was on his knees at the back of the carriage cutting down a loaf of bread into slices.

„Are we going to have anything else besides the bread?" Asked Donny making Anna shrug her shoulders.

„There sure is more you can do with bread," Commented Anna looking at Hans, which had finished to cut six slices.

„I had in mind to make sandwiches with grilled vegetables," Commented Hans. „Too bad I didn't think about getting cheese from the creamery. I could try to make a grilled cheese sandwich here,"

„Perhaps we can try that tomorrow if we find someone who sells cheese," Suggested Anna. „Do you enjoy melted liquids like chocolate?" Questioned the princess. „I'm crazy for melted chocolate,"

„You sound like you would adore chocolate fondue," Mentioned Hans bringing the plate, where he cut the bread and looked into a bag inside the carriage to look for vegetables.

„It's been many years ago since I ate chocolate fondue the last time. I believe I was ten. My parents were still around at that time,"

„The last time I had chocolate fondue…..well I don't really have any idea how old I was, when I had it. I know I still lived with my biological family,"

„The ones that…..,"

„Yeah that one," Commented Hans watching Anna pass her hand behind her head.

„I'm sorry. It's just hard to believe, that out there are families that are very toxic towards each other,"

„There are times we can't do nothing about it, besides taking our faith into our own hands and hope for a better life," Spoke Hans, then looked at Donny, which looked at the adult attentive.

„Or someone helps us," Added Donny making Hans smile and place his hand on Donny's head.

„Exactly," Added Hans making Donny wag his tail, afterward he tilted his head looking toward the ocean down at the hill, then yapped with a closed mouth. „What did you see?" Questioned Hans looking down at the ocean to see inside the water splashing noises and Donny ran down at the sea to look at it.

„I think he found fish," Hans mentioned making Anna nod, then Hans had an idea and climbed at the wheel of the carriage to take out the barrel bag with the arrows and the bow and took from the inside a rope. „What about we try to catch some fish?" Questioned the Danish farmer making Anna curious.

„Does this work?"

„It might take a few tries, but it's possible," Answered Hans, then walked down the hill, followed by the princess and Anna got down to Donny, which observed the fishes in the water.

„Do you know how to fish?" Questioned Anna glimpsing at the husky.

„No," Responded Donny. „I know wolves or foxes can,"

„So far I know foxes do," Spoke Hans. „I'm not sure about the wolves to be honest,"

Hans took out one bow to attach a rope around the front of the feather on the back, then placed it on the bow and aimed it at the water.

„You're going to fish?" Asked Donny watching Hans shoot the arrow into the water to see it get stuck in it, then Hans raised his fist in victory.

„Very good," Complimented Anna watching Hans push the arrow out of the water, then furrowed his eyebrows surprised to see he caught a piece of old clothing.

„Okay, that was bad luck," Commented Hans taking the piece away, then aimed at the ocean waiting for a fish to be in his sight, then he let the arrow fly into the water missing the fish by a few centimeters, afterward they swam further aside after presensing danger.

„They know what's happening," Mentioned the princess watching Hans take out the arrow and step up to be close to the place, where the fishes were located right now. Hans aimed at the water again waiting for the right moment to launch his arrow, then released it and felt it hit something, afterward he pulled it by the thread to see he had caught a fish.

„There we go," Extolled the auburn-haired man, then looked aside to see Anna had gotten up to the carriage to bring down a plate and Hans smiled, then placed the fish on the plate. „Thank you,"

„What I missed the catch?" Asked the princess surprised making Hans chuckle.

„Don't worry, I'm planning to catch more," Promised the man holding his arrow against the water and launched it, missing the fishes again. „At one point,"

„Perhaps it worked better, cause no one was looking," Joked Anna making Hans shake his head.

„Donny still was here thought. I must have had a lucky shot," Hans aimed at the fishes again, then missed the next shot again and pulled the arrow back by the rope. Hans introduced the arrow back on the bow and released it watching it dodge a fish, which swam away along with the others fishes up the water. „It's not that easy in the darkness. I can see them, but I feel like I'm not aiming correctly at them,"

„Could I give it a try?" Questioned Princess Anna as Hans took the arrow back, then gazed at her.

„To catch a fish?" Questioned Hans making the woman nod. „Do you know how to use a bow?" Anna shook her head, then Hans handed her out the bow and the arrow watching her place the arrow on the bow.

„Shove the end of the bow against the cord, then pull them back together by using your index, middle and ringfinger," Ordered Hans watching Anna follow his instruction, then the bow's feather slipped from her hand, but got caught by Hans. „It's fine, it's easy, just the only thing we all have to practice when learning is the aim,"

„Yes," Responded Anna watching Hans adjust the arrow on the bow, then shove the end to Anna's fingers and shove it back gently while Anna kept the mentioned position with her fingers. „I think I got it,"

„And now focus on your goal. Keep your eyes on one of the fishes." Instructed the farmer watching Anna close her left eye to find the right match. „When you think you're ready, slowly relax your fingers to let the arrow slide out of your bow,"

Anna released the arrow, which slipped up falling down on the ground, making her drop her chin surprised.

„It looked actually very easy,"

„Give it another try. It may take you a few times until you have an instinctive feeling,"

Anna nodded, then took back the arrow to adjust it on her bow and focused again on the objective, then released the bow, which on the midway fell down on the ground. Donny grabbed it with his mouth to help Anna out, then Anna took it to adjust it on the bow and looked at Hans, which was smiling at her attempts.

„What's so funny?" Asked Anna making Hans chuckle.

„Nothing, I'm just amused by the attempts," Commented Hans, then Anna playfully stuck out her tongue making Hans cackle and watched Anna adjust the arrow on the bow, then Hans noticed Anna hadn't adjusted the end of the arrow correctly on the bow's thread and placed his hand on the boy. „Should I guide you?" Suggested Hans, then Anna looked at the man gazing at her and she formed her lips into an O as she noticed the emerald-green eyes he had.

„Uh…..yes?" Consented Anna after the short distraction, then watched Hans step to the other side, then adjust the bow again and moved his arm around Anna's back to grab Anna's hand gently.

„I'm not making you feel uncomfortable?" Questioned Hans watching Anna shake her head and Hans moved Anna's hand back with the arrow checking the way she had her hands, still correct as explained at the start.

„You've done right, before. You had it just how I explained it to you,"

„Yeah," Replied Anna, then Hans focused on the water as Anna glimpsed at him doing so. „And now focus on the goal,"

„Exactly," Commented Hans feeling Anna's head on his chin making him nod. „Focus on the fish,"

„Done," Answered Anna having her eyes glued on her objective. „I'm ready,"

„Alright, we let it together go in three, two one….now!" Said Hans letting along with Anna in sync the arrow to watch it fly into the water to catch a fish right at the first, real try. „I think we got one," Spoke Hans making Anna smile, which pulled the rope out to see the lifeless fish come up on land.

„Now each of you caught a fish," Mentioned Donny looking up at the humans to see Anna drop the fish at the plate, then adjusted the arrow back on the bow and Hans stood aside to watch Anna try on her own, then she made it to use the arrow without failing.

„Now that one was better," Commented Hans watching Anna fish out the arrow, which had caught nothing.

„Yes, but this time I haven't caught one,"
„You can continue. You sure will catch one or two more," Assured Hans watching Anna look at him with a gracious smile, thereafter aimed at the water and it slipped of her finger again.

„Oh I didn't let it out that gently," Commented Anna grabbing the arrow again, then adjusted it on the bow and she aimed at the water. Hans from above observed the fishes, then had an idea and placed his arms around Anna to guide her again.

„Can I show you something?" Questioned Hans making Anna nod. „Come down at your knees, then look at the fishes,"

„Okay," Responded Anna getting down, then Hans tried to help her aim at the water, where they could see two fishes in the same place.

„Can you see the two? If we get lucky, we get them both with one arrow," Stated the farmer making Anna nod, therefore she moved her arm back with Hans going back with his aiming at the two fishes, afterward Anna mumbled the countdown before releasing the arrrow and saw it get stung throught both fishes making Anna yelp in victory.

„I did it!" Cried Anna moving her arms back hitting Hans on the nose accidentally. „That was…...oh….did I hit you?" Asked Anna looking at Hans passing his hand in front of his nose.

„It's alright," Responded Hans, then Anna looked at the thread and pulled it back to show it to Hans.

„We've got four now. I think that's enough for now," Guessed the princess watching Hans look at the fishes, then nodded.

„I think we could go up and start to grill them," Suggested Hans earning a nod from the strawberry-blonde, then got up and held out his hand to help her up and glimpsed into the light-blue eyes of the woman, which had gotten lost into the green eyes of the man, that stood there along with her for a silent moment. Donny looked up at the two, then tilted his head bewildered afterward Anna shook her head as she noticed she was distracted and picked up the plate.

„I think we better go up and start grilling," Suggested Anna making Hans nod, which had as well noticed their distraction then looked down at Donny, which sat there by them.

„Come on Don, it's dinner time," Said Hans, which followed the princess up the hill back to their fireplace.
