"I was... The king's wife." Toriel responded slowly praying that Frisk wouldn't hate her for the decisions her ex had made. Frisk had frowned at the thought of seeking out revenge. That led Toriel to believed that she too deserved to be hated, and couldn't forgive someone in taking a life. "I was so ashamed... t-to have let that happen to those human's souls. So, I left my husband, the kingdom, and came here." Toriel shook her head of that monster's memory.
"And Rose?" Frisk asked quietly a bit nervous to hear the outcome but, pointing over her shoulder towards Rose's room. "Could a flower even be considered a child or a son?" Sleeping soundly and happily in his little pot they could hear him mumbling in his sleep.
"That's... An even harder question to ask my child." Toriel spoke as she put the book down to look at Frisk in all seriousness. Clearing her throat first Toriel muttered, "During my time as queen, I had become pregnant with Asgore's child. (He was thrilled.) However, monsters weren't doing so well with giving birth and many didn't make it. Probably due to how many were hurt by the humans." Trust had a major factor to deal with after being scorned and in turn scorned their magic. "Even I did succumb to the pain after seeing so many die. My child was still born and was turned to dust. The ashes were scattered in a flower bed of roses that came to life."
"And so, Rose was born." Frisk finished amazed and saddened that they had gone through so much to end up here. "I do not hate you mom, but I can't and will not forgive your ex's actions." Frisk spoke firmly as she was raised to love all life's creatures.
Toriel nodded kindly as she placed a hand on her daughter's knee and got up to head to the kitchen. "I agree." She responded lastly before entering.
Another day passed as Frisk was getting ready to go her usual routine, when she noticed Rose had gone missing.
"Rose!?" Frisk called out as he would always want to go with Frisk to protect his new older sister. Frisk searched the entire house looking for him, then an idea hit her.
There was a staircase leading to a basement at the entrance to the house. Toriel had warned them both to stay away from that area cause it led to the kingdom at one point. Now it was destroyed so no one could get in or out and became unstable thanks to the fallen rocks.
"Rose? Rose?" Frisk whispered trying to guard her head with her arms as small rocks and dirt fell from the ceiling. "Oh, where are you?" Frisk spoke making her way all the way to the wall of rocks that use to be a door.
On the outskirts of a small little town covered in snow a monster walked. His bony exterior was somewhat tall but still shorter than an average human. His furry collared jacket was a mix of baby blue and ash gray. Normally he wouldn't have sleeves, this time of year but it was particularly cold this morning. (A/N: Lowering them to his elbow joints)
Yes, he was a skeleton monster heading out to his normal posts. Though with a busted up door in the way his post had become more of a secret place to relax after a "good days" work.
Sitting down he checked his messages on his phone. One particular message written all in caps caught his eye.
"WHERE ARE YOU THE LADIES ARE GETTING RESTLESS~"
The added pic got the skeleton grinning. Seeing his brother a more taller and lanky skeleton dancing for three or four female monsters.
"Heh be back in an hour. Have fun Pap ?" He texted before hearing something coming from the rubble.
"A voice?"
