Sands of Change
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 5
When Hermione woke up, it was to see a very pissed off Lucy. Making her hop back from her bed, trying to get away from her.
"What are you doing," she groaned.
"You're pissed."
"Natsu," Lucy growled. "Thinking it would be fun. If he fights you, while you sleep. Giving him an easy win. Only to cause an all guild brawl."
Hermione turned her ear to the door. "I don't hear anything."
Lucy huffed, crossing her arms under her boobs. Making them bounce. "You were out for three days! The brawl had ended just an hour ago."
Hermione turned to look for a clock. Seeing that the time was ten in the morning. "Oh."
Lucy fished out her key. Only for the ginger-haired man to stand before her. Rushing to Hermione, hugging her. Making Hermione feel like something was wrong.
"Hermione, I'm sorry. I was just angry, for Ron and Harry. After you left, they weren't the same. But I didn't want you to fight the guild!"
Hermione took a deep breath. Wrapping her own arms around him. Closing her eyes, almost seeing the rest of the Weasley family behind him.
"Charlie?"
He shook his head, pulling away from her. "It's Loke or Leo. I have not been Charlie for 800 years. So please, don't."
"Leo, do you know what's wrong with me?"
He nodded, sitting on the bed before her. "The reason I was gone for three days was to do some research. As well as, talk to the Celestial King. We think we know why."
Hermione tilted her head. "Why?"
Leo sighed, "You came from 800 years ago. A time when most magical humans were the same. You are the point of origin, Hermione. If you were a tree to show the branching of all magic. You would be on the very top.
"The night you came. You had said, 'Magic, magic, hear my prayer. Let me become the sands of change!' That is what happened. Magic gave you the point of origin of all magic. With an added bonus of Celestial Dragon Slayer magic."
Hermione gaped at him. Hitting her head against the wall. Hoping that it was some kind of dream.
"Damn, nab it," she groaned. "Even my tiger form?"
"You weren't an animagus, were you?"
Hermione shook her head. "I never really found the time to try."
Leo nodded his head. "What made you flip out? We heard through the totems that it was them… Oh, the green-beams of light."
Hermione nodded her head in agreement. "It was."
"Loke, why would that affect her that way," asked Lucy.
"800 years ago and thousands of years prior. Green-beams of light met the killing curse. Only one person in history survived it, not once, but twice." Leo turned to Lucy with sadness. "Harry, was that survivor."
Hermione sighed, rubbing her face. Feeling the dust from the fight. She excused herself to go to the bathroom. Ripped her clothes off and hopped into the shower. Scrubbing from head to toe. Taking off all the grime.
After she had finished. She dried off, only to see a set of sweats with a Leo constellation on them. 'At least they're big and baggy. It would be comfortable.'
When she left the bathroom. She only saw Lucy waiting for her. "Can you tell Leo, thanks for me?"
Lucy smiled, "Yeah, I can. Let's get you something to eat."
The two then made their way down the stairs. Managing not to make a sound. Climbing onto the barstools, without waking the guild.
Mira had seen them, sitting at the corner of the bar. Lip talking. 'Are you alright?' Hermione just nodded. 'You want anything?"
'Chocolate and strawberry cheesecake?'
Mira then looked to Lucy. Only to show two fingers. She then left to give them a slice. After Mira came back and served them. They enjoyed every bite, while it was quiet.
The first person to wake up. Just happened to be the one that Lucy was still mad at. "HAY EVERYONE, LOOK WHO'S AWAKE!" Causing everyone to jump out of their skins.
Hermione groaned, only to finish the last bite of her cheesecake. When Natsu ran to her side. "You wanna go on a job with us, tomorrow?"
"Us?" She turned to him. Looking lost.
"Yeah; Lucy, Gray, Erza, me and Happy. We're Team Natsu, and we would like you to join us!"
"Fat chance Salamander, I want her in my team," grumbled Gajeel. Glaring at Natsu.
Laxus stood up from the second floor. "Not if we don't have anything to say about it! My team wants her to join!"
"Man," called Elfman. "I had hoped for her to join me." Just before, many other voices had started in on the debate.
Hermione turned to Lucy with a harsh look. "Why do I feel like I've missed something?"
"The brawl wasn't just about Natsu wanting to fight you, while you slept. But also whose team you would join."
Hermione laid her head down on the bar. Crossing her arms to cover her head. Closing her eyes. 'Why me, why now?'
"ENOUGH," yelled Master Makarov. "I think it's time for a new team roster. Where everyone will have a chance to work with someone new."
"OH!" Not many people were happy to hear this news. But no one had the energy to fight.
"I will have the new team roster on the board by the end of the week!" Then he was gone. Rushing towards his office.
Hermione was just happy no one was arguing about her being on any team. She was at least grateful to the guild master for that. She didn't have any kind of energy to go anywhere, thanks to the battle hungry Natsu. Then whoever else wanted a piece of her.
Something told her, some of the people wanted to see what she could do. But after the battle, she could see some of the males were turned on by it.
'That's all I need, horny males.' She wanted to zap a few of them. But she believed it'll make it worse. 'They're already horny. Don't need to stir the pot.'
Lucy sighed, "Do you have an idea of what's going on?" Waving her hand across the room. Indicating the hyped energy.
Hermione leaned into Lucy, whispered softly to where not anyone else could hear. "I am the prey." Then pulled away from her. Seeing a red face Lucy.
Lucy looked around the room with new eyes, shivering in her seat. "If you had to pick someone, who would it be?"
Hermione sighed, still leaning on the bar. "Hard to say." Shrugging her shoulders. "I may know who they are from you. But I personally don't know them."
A thought occurred to Hermione. "I just realized, I am going to need a place to stay."
"Stay with me," jumped Lucy with happiness. Not realizing the guild had stopped talking. "I have a couch you can crash on."
Hermione smiled, "Thank you." Something told to look around the guild. "Why is everyone looking at us?"
"That's so hot," mumbled Wakaba. Only for his friend to hit him across his head.
Lucy shook her head. "Great, we're going to have stockers, until they grow tired."
At that moment a totem flew towards them. Floating between the two girls, growling towards the guild.
"Popo," asked Hermione. Standing up and making her way to the front of him. "Why so protective?"
Seeing the surprised face of Bickslow, from the corner of her eye.
"Popo, saw your pain. When you saw the green-beams of light. You didn't harm Bickslow. I, protect you."
Just as Hermione raised her hand towards the totem. A ghostly image of a teenage boy stood before her. Only to cause Hermione to cry.
"Colin," she whispered softly. "I am so sorry."
"Hermione Granger, the Brightest Witch of Our Age. Best friend of Harry Potter. And the girl that stood against the world. Thank you for trying to save me."
"Oh, Colin, you sweet brave boy." As soon as her arms were around him. The ghostly image was gone. Only to see her hugging the totem.
"I keep you safe," he whispered.
Bickslow started to cry from the back of the guild. "That's harsh, dude!"
The rest of the guild was stunned. None of them had seen a soul before. But to see one was hard for many to witness. When it was easy for them to believe that the totems were no more than puppets.
"Time to go," hissed the totem. Nudging for Hermione and Lucy to leave. Neither of them argued.
