Sands of Change
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 10
The next day dawned. Only to find, not just Hermione being frustrated with a dream. But also Lucy.
"Who were you dreaming of," asked Hermione.
"Dreaming," squeaked Lucy. "I wasn't dreaming!" Hermione just glared at her. Only for her to break shortly after. "Alright, I was dreaming about Laxus."
Hermione sighed, "That is better than not knowing. I have a mystery man tormenting me."
Lucy shivered, "Yeah. I feel sorry for you." She gave her a thoughtful look. "Do you have an idea who it is?"
"Just that he has big muscles."
"Humm, I don't think Cobra has big muscles. So, you are down to two different beasts…"
The two then moved to the bathroom hut. Got changed into hiking clothes. Tossed their stuff in their tent. Ate breakfast. Then followed Neville into the temple.
At the door, Hermione read the doorway. "Speak your name and enter."
"Jean-Luc Neville," Neville said at the doorway and then entered. Nothing happened.
"Lucy Heartfilia, great-great-great granddaughter to Anna Heartfilia!"
"Welcome, child of Anna Heartfilia." A voice called out from around them. But nothing more. She walked into the temple with a dazed look.
Then it was Hermione's turn. "Hermione Jean Granger, from the house of Gryffindor!"
"Welcome Granger," she heard the deeper tones of Draco Malfoy. Before, a ghostly image of a Dragon stood before her. "I had hoped that you'd come. If you see this image, then I'm gone. Leaving you with my gifts.
"I give you and whoever you're with access to my temple. It holds secrets you must know." The image looked at her in sadness. "I'm sorry, Godspeed, Hermione Granger." Then he was gone.
Neville turned to her. "Is there something that you should share?"
"I… am from 800 years ago. Before the magic changed." Hermione looked around to a few shocked faces.
Neville nodded, "Whatever your reason was. I am happy you came here, at least to help us."
With a smile, Hermione entered the temple. Reading the walls and archways, as they moved. A couple of walls, she had already read. From the photos that she has already seen. Around a corner to a hallway, Hermione found more information.
"Draco never wanted to share his gift. Because of the other Dragons, who each wanted a follower to share their gifts with. Only to start a Council of Dragons. Where he was at the head. While Blaise or Igneel, he liked to be called, was the second."
"Wait, you said Igneel? He was Natsu's Dragon," gasped Lucy. "What else does it say?"
"Igneel had voiced that if they shared their gifts. Then humans could protect themselves from the killings by other Dragons. With Draco's last warning, the others had gone out to share their gifts. Only to make Acnologia, the problem child that wanted the power, and to kill all Dragon kind. Along with their human children."
"Acnologia is already dead. Thanks to all the Dragon Slayers that we have," smiled Lucy.
"Traveler be warned, Acnologia is far more dangerous to face alone. You will need many others to help end him. As one would imagine, Igneel and others would have their children there already." Hermione turned to Lucy with a smile. "Good thing I don't need to."
They followed the wall to a chamber. "Dragons and their human children will go through a magical transformation. It is advised that they don't turn into Dragons or become another Acnologia. They must find a mate by their twenty-fifth year for the males. While the females, at their twenty-first year.
"Mates will know they had met theirs, is when the dreams had started. The dreams can only give a window of who their mate is. But not a full picture, not until a month after the dreams have started."
Neville shivered, "The next room, then." Leading the two girls out of the chamber.
As they moved from chamber to chamber, the more Hermione read. A part of her felt sorry for Draco. Turned Dragon, he was no longer close to his old friends. Having to keep his distance with his own family. Even his own parents weren't saved from the change.
His father had a footnote. He died because of the change. Losing his mind, before Draco had to kill him. His mother, it said, lost her magic. Only to become his temple's priestess. Giving shelter to his first followers.
By that time, it was getting close to sunset and dinner. Only to have Neville urge them to leave the temple. That night was an overload for everyone. After dinner, everyone had just gone to bed. Not knowing what else they would find.
