Sands of Change
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 11
Hermione Granger had found that she was hating her dreams. They were always the same. A strong man behind her. Her, laying back on him. His hips at work, while he rubbed her jeans covered core, with his fisted knuckles.
Hermione wanted to scream in frustration because of it. Each time she dreamt, she found it hard to ignore her hormones. She noticed that Lucy was on the same boat as her.
That morning, Popo was awake for the first time. Since coming to the island. Stating that it took time to adjust from being away from Bickslow. Hermione chose to carry him around. Saving what energy he had.
So after a shower, she picked Popo up. After tossing her things in the tent. Ate breakfast, then led everyone back into the temple. Once, she said her name again. She had gotten no more greetings, like she had, the day before.
Neville led them to the next level of the temple. Where Hermione saw that the archeologists were cleaning the walls. Since they were covered in vines. Lucy was more than happy to help. Giving Hermione some time to rest her voice.
After a little while, they were able to have one wall cleaned. Hermione had a slight hard time reading the Runes. Since they were slightly faded.
"The followers of Draco came to the temple. Learning honor and the value of one's word. He was the Dragon of creation, destruction and protector of life. He taught his followers' medicine. But not all of his followers wanted to save lives.
"He had to make an example of one of his misbehaves. The only way a Dragon could. He sucked the life force from them. Only to give a life force to the near dying. Showing that all life had a balance."
Lucy gasped, "He saved a life? Whose life did he save?"
Hermione looked around. "It doesn't say, Lucy. Why?"
"I found that Natsu was once dead. I just wanted to know if Draco was the one who saved him."
After a few more minutes. The walls had become darker. Depiction of Dragon against Dragon. Followers against other Dragon followers. It showed the time of the Dragon Wars. Before seeing Lucy's key symbols on another wall.
"The Dragon Ally Council was brought together once again. Only to bring a human woman, Anna Heartfilia and the black wizard. Stating the threat of Acnologia was too great to ignore. They needed his blessing to build a gateway through time. Where Acnologia would be in deep sleep, before realizing the children were there.
"Allowing them to grow into their magic. Before they have to face him. Draco voiced, regardless of time, Acnologia needed to be stopped. So he gave them his blessing. For his own gifted could survive."
Lucy jumped in. "He calls you his gifted, why?"
Hermione giggled, "Back when we knew each other. We were the same age. It would be hard for him to call me his child."
Lucy gaped at her. "Same age? Yeah, gifted it is, then."
They followed Neville down a way. Showing the completion of the gate. Before another depiction of the gate being opened.
"Draco forced his will on the travelers. Turning Dragons into humans for easy travel. Pushing them through. Only for Acnologia to show up and try to stop them.
"Draco, being a Dragon with creation. He split himself into two functional Dragons. Sending the stronger to deal with Acnologia. While his weaker and true self, back to the temple.
"Just as his other form, nearly died from Acnologia's attack. The Celestial King came to him. Offering to take him to the Celestial World, to become a key. Draco agreed, only if he could see his gifted again. With a deal struck, the Celestial King had taken Draco away. Just as his second form had breathed its last breath."
"What," Neville looked up from his written notes. "Who wrote these walls, if all the Dragons were gone?"
Hermione looked around. She followed the temple hallways. Showing the life of every priest and priestess of the temple. Only to find that after his mother. His son, Scorpio, became a priest. Then his children after him.
Hermione came back to Neville. "I can only think that the priests and priestesses wrote them."
After a couple of hours of walking through the temple. They found themselves at the lower level. With deep claw marks on the wall.
"Hermione Granger of the house of Gryffindor. If you reach this chamber, I am gone. I leave behind a Titanium Celestial Key, it is my gift to you. I must train you, your gifts, before your new magic burns you up. You can not survive by instinct alone.
"Since my life changed as a Dragon. I have a new outlook on life. After you left the world had slowly destroyed itself. Potter was never the same, after the change. He became something that was called the God class. He was never the same."
Tears leaked out of Hermione's eyes. She really didn't like what she had read about Harry. 'The master over death wasn't enough for him? He had to become godlike.'
When there was nothing else to learn from the walls. Neville led them back out of the temple. At camp, he gave the Titanium key to Hermione.
"Test key," Popo piped up. Pushing her towards the shore. Leaving Lucy behind to help Neville.
At the beach, Hermione sat down on the sand. Holding the key in her hand. Wondering what would happen if she used it. How was Draco going to act with her?
Popo nudged her. "Now!"
Hermione couldn't help but let a small giggle. "Alright, alright. I can't have you be impatient."
As she sat, she waved the key before her. "I, Hermione Granger, from the house of Gryffindor. I summon Draco before me."
Once the last words were uttered. A massive wind storm, followed by a roar. Before, a massively large Dragon stood before her. She barely heard the people from camp screaming about a Dragon.
The Dragon was not something he would look like. He was multicolored. Dark midnight blue, then light blue, purple, pink and orange. With speckles of white, gold and very light blue. With edgings of midnight blue, along with his claws.
"Granger," the Dragon spoke in deep growling tones. "Took you long enough."
Hermione fell back onto the sand. The new historic records hadn't lied. It was him. A small part in the back of her had hoped. That everything she had read was a lie.
"Draco," she cried. "I'm so sorry!"
"No Granger, I am sorry." He ducked his head down. Causing Hermione and whoever felt his massive vibration of a thud. So he laid his head down. Feeling him take a deep breath from his nose.
"Humm, lavender and sage." He sniffed her, rubbing his nose on her body.
"DRACO, YOU BIG LIZARD! STOP!" Hermione found she had nothing in the strength to push him away.
"But you smell good, Granger," the Dragon purred. He pulled away, his gold eyes flashed. "You're nearing your mating season. I smell a change in you, meaning you've met your mate."
Hermione huffed, sitting up, crossing her arms over her chest. "Thanks for turning me into a Dragon Slayer!" She was angry with him on that part.
"That reminds me, you're going to need training. Being a Celestial Dragon, I can halt time. A month on the island could give you a year of magic maturity." His eyes focused on her.
Hermione looked over her shoulder. "Could you train another? She is a Celestial Spirit Mage, a descendant of Anna Heartfilia, Lucy Heartfilia."
The Dragon nodded, letting out a huff. "The Celestial King had requested that I teach her. How do you know her?"
It was then Hermione told Draco how she traveled through time. Landing herself in the Fairy Tail guild. Making fast friends with Lucy.
"She even has Scorpio." Hermione didn't know why she had told him that. But felt that she should.
Draco hummed, "Not today. But I should warn you, the magic I gave you. It is far different from what I would have taught any gifted. Because, I know, you wouldn't want to kill anyone. Only to protect and defend. But it may not be the same with Heartfilia."
Hermione nodded, "I understand, Draco. So, how does this work?"
Draco looked to the sky. Seeing that was edging towards sunset. "When the moon rises. You will need to wade out into the water, bath in the moonlight. It's your energy source."
Hermione glared at him. But she somewhat understood what he was talking about. She was a Celestial Dragon Slayer, her element is the moon and stars. Giving her a power boost in night fighting, but it could be said for the sun.
"Why not the sun?"
Draco groaned, "After our month of training, you could use the sun to power you. But you need to start off slow and small amounts. Until you build your system to handle it quickly. Otherwise, you could burn up fast and die."
Hermione sighed, she had a hard time being a fellow student at Hogwarts with him. Learning from him was a whole new experience for her. She just hoped it wouldn't be a nightmare.
'Now I'm tired.'
