Sands of Change
Lady Countryrose
Ch. 25
The next day, Hermione Granger felt a change in the air. But she didn't know what that change was. She looked around her shared room, only to see Lucy was gone. Hermione quickly changed and made her way downstairs.
Where she found Lucy cooking over a shove. Making a massive pan of scrambled eggs and another of hash browns.
"Lucy," asked Hermione. Lucy looked at her with a blush. Only for her to notice something. "Is that a hickey?"
Lucy huffed, "I want to rake my nails into him now. I told him, no hickeys."
Hermione blinked at her. "What now?"
Lucy sighed, a smile graced her lips. "You remember that Laxus wanted to talk to me? Well, he asked me to marry him." She shied away. "I guess he was practicing where he would mark me."
Hermione took a deep breath and sat at the counter. "If he were to ask me. I heard the collarbone is the best marking spot."
"Thanks for the idea," said a happy, deep voice, behind her. Causing to jump in her seat.
"Morning Laxus," smiled Lucy. Before, the two had shared a quick kiss.
'It seems I am going to need a place soon. If I see the hungry look in Laxus's eyes. And it wasn't about the cooked food.'
A moment later, Gajeel had walked through the door. Before, he sat next to Hermione. Seeing an amusement in his eyes.
After breakfast, Gajeel had dragged her out of Laxus's house. Going down away, until Hermione saw something that she had not noticed. "Wow," she gasped out.
Gajeel smirked, then opened the front door. Bringing her inside. Only to see creamy yellow, sage and hints of lavender and other earth tones.
"Is this your place?"
"Our place," he rushed out in his reply. "I had asked Laxus, Bickslow and Freed for help. But it's ours." He then bent a knee and looked up at her.
"Hermione, I know we had only known each other for a short time. But I wanted to build a place. That both of us could call home. I am asking if you could be my wife, my mate and anything else that you want to be for me?"
Tears leaked out of her eyes. Fell into his arms and held him. "Yes, if you can be my husband, my mate and anything else that you want in return?"
The two melted into a heated kiss. Lips molded for one another. Not wanting to let go. The two had to pull away, after their need to breathe became too much.
The two walked around the house. Only to see that they needed to call a few places to get it finished. Like adding cabinets, plumbing and electricity. As well as furniture to make it comfortable.
Gajeel had sold his old place and the furniture within. After going around town. They had managed to pick everything that was in stock. Only to have mostly everything delivered that day, or the day after.
They would have to use the guild or Laxus's house for a couple of days. But it was manageable. So the two went to Laxus's house, where they noticed a practice that they had stopped. Only to see that it was getting heated.
Lucy blushed, that carried down most of her body. "So," she gulped. "What have you two been doing?"
Hermione smiled, "Only to find that Gajeel was building our new home, with help. With a marriage proposal." The two girls hugged each other with glee.
"What is the plan with the house now," asked Laxus.
"We have things getting delivered soon and tomorrow. But we may need to crash here for a bit."
"Go ahead, man," smiled Laxus. "You two will be my first neighbors."
Gajeel chuckled deeply, "We will try to keep it down." His eyes flashed, making his deep red eyes go darker. Promising otherwise.
Lucy and Hermione looked at each other. They had no idea what they had agreed to.
Laxus smirked, "No promises here either." He then grabbed a couple of drinks for them. Then they sat around the living room.
Lucy turned to Laxus with a thought. "I forgot to tell you, yesterday, Mira has been acting strange."
"She always acts strange," stated Gajeel. "You gotta be more precise than that."
Hermione glared at him. "She had been asking us and Levy about wedding stuff for a client. Even go as far as a model for the dresses, with Midnight's help." She could see a hint of amusement from him. But nothing else.
Laxus chuckled, "At least she isn't matchmaking." He took a deep drink. "Imagine, matchmaking into a marriage. Yeah, not happening."
Lucy sighed, "That was what we had feared. Because that was how she was acting."
Gajeel left for the new house. Seeing some deliveries were showing up.
Sensing their men were hiding something. The two girls had left for their room.
