New sparring partner?
Yes, I'm still stuck here. Only a few days have passed. The blue-haired woman has taken me and all the Namekians in. Well, I've been housed worse and through the constant presence of the Earthlings, I've also learned what happened to Kakarott. This woman is very talkative and explained everything to me so far.
Frieza was defeated, Kakarott now in space and on the way home. According to the weaklings, Kakarott has indeed ascended to Super Saiyajin. At least it's a small consolation that it was a Saiyajin who was able to defeat Frieza in the end. But the bland aftertaste of not being able to finish it off myself is admittedly upsetting. But as his father said at the time: I will surely become a Super Saiyajin one day. Although there should only be a Super Saiyajin every 1000 years, but if Kakarott can do it, then of course I can do it too! Even if I'm stuck on this mud ball for now... At least I'm not alone here and have a decent place to stay. The Namekians are also stuck here until they can activate the Dragon Balls again.
While we're on the subject... These greenies are still suspicious of me. Ironically, I get that not only do the Namekians not trust me, but they're upset with this Piccolo because he's fused with another Namekian and is staying away from them. Ridiculous in my eyes. Frieza would have seen to the end of the planet much sooner if Piccolo hadn't been there. Thus, once again, my previous thinking is confirmed... All here on this mud ball live only ungrateful, spoiled weaklings! They can't even imagine what life was like under Frieza. How lucky they are to be largely undiscovered on this backward planet. What is there to get here either? Aside from the Dragon Ball, there's nothing of value here.
I'm about to leave for my workout when I spot the brat from Kakarott and the Namekian. Piccolo's gaze falls on me, and we give each other a cursory nod. I hate to admit it, but he's the least annoying person of all the Earthlings and the other inhabitants.
Out of curiosity, I listen to their conversation with half an ear. The boy was just telling me that his mother insists that he learn more and that's why he can't train with Piccolo.
But then Gohan catches sight of me and he's already babbling, "Hey Vegeta!"
"What do you want, boy? I'm busy, you're interrupting!", I snort at him, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"I know, Vegeta. That's why I'm here. Bulma told me to tell you that this gravity room is still broken and she's still waiting for parts to be delivered before she can continue building."
I growl at him. "What the fuck! I have to train after all!"
Gohan puts his hand butt head and scratches his neck like his ridiculous father. "Then train with Piccolo!"
The green guy and I look at each other in shock. "What?!"
I growl at him again. Ridiculous what he's asking me to do. "Tz, why should I train with him? I'd rather train with you then, boy, before I train with that slug! You can at least keep up with me halfway. After all, you're half Saiyan. Your technique isn't all that gruesome, and with the right strength training, this could at least be a bit of a challenge for me."
But this kid just beams, looking almost as dopey as his annoying father, and says, "Yeah, about that. What I can do, I learned all from Mister Piccolo. And he's clearly stronger than me."
"Ts and I always thought you learned that from your 'oh-so-awesome-dad'...".
Piccolo growls and speaks himself now after all. "His 'oh-so-great-dad' left Son Gohan untrained after the fight against Radditz! I taught him everything! He fights like a demon - not like a Saiyajin!"
"Oh Mister Piccolo, you know my mom never wanted me to train. Thus, it wasn't up to dad... He wanted me to train, but mom didn't allow it. Well, and after the fight against Radditz, we had no other choice..."
"Tze... The earthlings don't even teach their own children how to fight properly?this dirty planet is really even more pathetic than I thought. At least then the Namekian taught you something."
"Vegeta, was that praise?" Piccolo grins at me.
I snort back and speak calmly: "Don't flatter yourself, greenhorn! I could still defeat you with one hand. And if the boy had studied with me, he would not only have a measly basic knowledge, but would be far stronger than any one of you pathetic earthlings!"
The mood between the Namekian and I grows more testy, and I suddenly hear a laugh
"You see, you are perfect sparring partners! But now I have to go. Otherwise mom will kill me. I'm already way too late". The boy actually leaves waving. "Goodbye Vegeta, bye Mister Piccolo have fun". And away he goes.
Only Piccolo and I are still standing there. I look skeptically at the Namekian, squint my eyes a bit, and ask him, "Where do you usually train, you slug?"
He snorts and turns away. "I don't train with anyone who calls me a slug, you monkey."
I growl angrily. "Don't call me a monkey! And besides, you never introduced yourself to me."
Piccolo looks at me and considers for a moment. "Okay. Whatever you say... Piccolo is my name."
"So Piccolo. Where do you train? At least until the woman fixes the gravity room, I guess I'll have to make do with you."
He snorts again and just says, "Follow me! I'll take you to an area where you can train undisturbed, Vegeta."
I follow him.
