Double-Oh Seven

Sung to the tune of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz's "Colors of the Wind (End Credits version)" from Disney's Pocahontas

Many of you will say that secret agents are obsolete and nothing,
well now, my friends, let me tell you all a little something:
There's one spy who is truly the very best,
at doing best what he does, because he's THE best.

Ever since his debut in 1953,
he has always thrilled us all, even little old me.
He's the best fictional spy around, so my friends,
forget about Austin Powers and forget about Maxwell Smart.

He is always on the very merry old hunt,
despite being an instrument that's very blunt.
From his very first mission until his next one,
he won't stop until he gets the job done,
and he'll do it with his trusty gadgets and his useful gun.

So, if you are ever going his way,
all of you villains had better stay away.
There is nowhere to run and nowhere to hide,
it's nothing personal, it is just our man's professional job.

Ladies, you will fall in love with him guaranteed,
don't try to fight the temptation against the awesome power that is he.
Licence to kill, Aston Martin, Walther PPK, vodka martini,
always shaken, and not ever stirred, my friends.

Do you ever think he'll ever consider on retiring soon?
I, for one should certainly hope it's not anytime soon.
He has become such a worldwide phenomenon.
Such an amazing and awesome sight is this guy,
what we'd all give to be like this legendary spy.

But until his next mission arrives for you and I,
we'll continue to want more from our number one British guy.

Ian Fleming would be so very proud, no doubt whatsoever,
of all the actors who have portrayed him so far, from Connery to Craig.
As long as there are stories of him to be told and to be made,
he will come running to our assistance from MI6's aid.

And in the end, we'll always be
forever riding in seventh heaven,
all thanks to Mr. James Bond, aka Agent 007.

Spoken as the song fades out:
The name's Bond… James Bond.

Author's Notes:

* As a HUGE James Bond fan, it's safe on my part to say that that I (as you'll have gathered) LOVE his franchise extensively. And why not?
- For as the franchise has suggested throughout the years, the men want to be like him and the women want to be with him.
- However, that said, I DO have my limits as to what things I do and don't love about the franchise. But that's a discussion for another time.
* James Bond, aka 007, and everyone in his universe are owned and © by Ian Fleming, as well as MGM Studios (for the movies, at least), so I own nothing in this song parody, except the words I wrote.
* I also do NOT own the rights to any of the music/songs/original lyrics that I parody in my story, they are all owned and © by the artists who originally recorded them.

That said, until my next song parody, I'm M. R. Parkerson here to say to all of you out there:
"Enjoy this song parody, fill free to singalong and I can't wait share my next song parody with you all!" :)
