"Damn, woman!" Seth whistled. "Do you have a permit to look this hot, or do I have to arrest you?"
Veona turned around and smiled at him. She looked good in that long, form fitting, dark green dress. It matched her dark green eyes. Her long, cappuccino brown hair was put up in a beautiful hairdo, and she wore silver earrings and a silver necklace along with a pair of silver heels to fulfill the outfit.
"I wish you could come with me," she said.
Her cousin Randy was getting married, and he had been firm about not letting her have a plus one at the wedding. His excuse was that only married couples got to go together. Veona and Seth both knew better. That rule had been made because Randy didn't like Seth for the simple reason that his friend Riddle had a crush on Veona, and Randy wanted Veona to leave Seth and date Riddle instead. Something that would never happen. Veona and Seth had been going strong for two years now, and they had no plans on slowing down. They both knew they had found their soulmate. He walked over to her, pulled her into his arms, and kissed her forehead.
"If you wanna leave early, I'll be right there to pick you up," he said.
"Thank you," she said.
"Now, I am gonna arrest you later, hottie, because this is working way too well for me. So well, in fact, that I have to put you over my knees later for some well deserved punishment," he said.
"Are you trying to make me not go?" She smirked.
"No, I'm telling you there's a well deserved treat for you after tonight's torment," he winked. "And now I'm taking you there before I make you wet and ruin your dress."
"What do you mean make me wet? I already am," she said.
"You devil," he grinned. "March! To the car, young lady!"
"Yes, sir," she said in her cutest voice.
He felt his dick rise by those words and her walking past him. That dress hugged her ass perfectly. Waiting was going to be hard. He walked after her, and they both got into the car. He drove her to the venue and leaned over to kiss her goodbye.
"How about I try to sneak in and crash the wedding?" He asked.
"I'd like to see that," she chuckled.
"Is that a challenge?" He asked.
She smiled and leaned over for one more kiss before opening the car door and walking towards the front door with the wedding gift in her hands. She had made sure to put both of their names on the card. Randy might not want Seth there, but she would make sure Randy would remember Seth's name.
She stepped inside and sighed. Everyone but her had a plus one, even the couples that weren't married. She shouldn't be surprised that Randy would pull such a stunt. She wanted to turn around and walk away but she forced herself forward. She walked up to the table of gifts and placed hers on it. Randy suddenly stepped up next to her. He was smiling when he reached his hand forward to look at the card on the gift. His smile quickly dropped when he saw Seth's name on it as well.
"You can't leave him out of it for one night?" He asked.
"We both bought it together," she said.
"Seriously, Veona, what do you see in him?" He asked.
"I don't even know where to begin to answer that question. He's a wonderful man that I love with all my heart. I've never been so happy before as I am with him," she said.
He frowned at that but didn't dive further into the conversation.
"It's a buffet. We're keeping it casual. Eat and sit where you want to," he said.
He walked away and she smiled at winning that conversation. She walked over to the table and put some food on a plate. She poured champagne in a glass and found a spot at a table. She purposely chose an empty chair between two occupied seats to avoid Randy's friend Riddle from spotting her and coming over to sit next to her.
She emptied the plate of food and the glass of champagne. She looked up at met a pair of chocolate brown eyes that was not supposed to be there. Seth had snuck in as he had said he would. He was trying to hide behind a group of people talking. They both laughed at each other from afar.
"What's so funny?" Randy asked.
She turned her head and saw her cousin standing there.
"Seth just sent a funny cat meme," she said.
"Can't he leave you alone for one night?" He asked annoyed.
"Nope!" She grinned. "Animal memes is our love language. I don't wanna go without it."
He looked even more annoyed but decided not to continue in the direction the conversation was heading.
"Come with me, please," he said.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because it's my wedding and I'm telling you to," he sighed. "Just come along for a moment, Veona. Or do you need to text Seth and ask his permission?"
Her smile dropped. Randy was indicating that Seth was controlling which was not the case. She stood up and held out her hand. He turned around and started walking with her following behind. She wasn't even surprised when he led her straight to a group of his friends. Riddle and some other men she didn't know well.
"Hi, sweetheart," Riddle said.
"Don't call me that," Veona said.
"Lighten up," Randy said.
"What am I doing here, Randy?" Veona asked.
Randy looked over at Riddle who grinned back in return. Riddle held his phone towards Veona but she refused to take it.
"There's a problem with my phone," Riddle said.
"And what do you expect me to do about it?" Veona asked.
"The problem is that your number isn't in it," Riddle said.
"Good. Keep it that way," Veona said.
Veona turned around and started walking away. A hand grabbed her arm and spun her around. Randy looked angry and Riddle was standing next to him looking like a lost child. Riddle once again tried to hand Veona his phone but she refused to take it.
"Stop acting like a bitch!" Randy hissed lowly.
Veona cleared her throat and spoke loudly enough for everyone around them to hear.
"I will never date Riddle!" Veona said. "I'm in love with Seth. I only wanna be with Seth. In fact, we're getting married. I didn't want to tell the news at your wedding but you're pushing me here."
"What? You can't marry him," Randy said.
"Watch me," Veona said.
"You said you could convince her to give me a chance," Riddle looked at Randy.
"There's no chance in hell," Veona said. "I would have to be dead for you to ever find yourself between my legs, and even you won't sink that low, would you?"
"No," Riddle whispered.
Randy grabbed Riddle's phone and forced it into Veona's hand.
"Put your fucking number in his phone!" Randy demanded.
Veona took the few steps to the nearest table where a carafe of water was placed. She dropped the phone down in the water and walked away. She could hear Riddle say some curse words behind her while trying to save his phone. She walked straight over to Seth, smirked, grabbed his shirt, and pulled him down for a kiss.
"Take me home," she said.
"As you wish," he said.
She laced her fingers in between his and walked out of the venue. They got back in the car, looked at each other, and started laughing.
"I guess we're getting married now," he said.
"It just flew out of my mouth," she said.
"Don't even think about apologizing," he said. "I had begun thinking about how to propose but this way works for me. We're getting married."
They grinned and leaned towards each other for a quick kiss. She leaned back in her seat, and he started the engine.
"I'm gonna need a whole lot of punishment tonight after that," she said.
"I got you, babe," he smirked. "You're going over my knees to have that ass painted so red that you won't be able to sit for days."
